Bringing with him his mission of helping pilots to be financially secure so they are prepared whenever the next unfortunate event happens, Satch, a former pilot, shares nuggets of wisdom about wholesaling that anyone can apply in their journey to financial freedom. Satch explained that getting traction involves volume and time. One has to do a strategy multiple times and for some time. He also talks about cold calling as a marketing technique, its four pillars, and more! So tune in to this episode of The Rent Roll Radio Show with your host, Sterling Chapman, to know more!
Outline of the episode…
About Satch Bernhardt…
Satch Bernhardt is a former airline pilot for a U.S. carrier. In 2018 he began his career as a real estate investor by flipping houses. Unfortunately, in 2020 his airline shut down. Fortunately, he had already established himself in the real estate industry, with his business producing enough income for him. Still, he knew how many of his peers were really affected by this. This was a turning point in Satch’s mission with real estate.
He realized how a pilot’s life could change so quickly. But, unfortunately, in the airline industry, you don’t carry over your longevity to another airline; you simply start at the bottom like everyone else.
Also, as a pilot, you can develop a medical condition that results in the inability to pass a first-class medical.
Airline pilot careers are very fragile.
This is why Satch started Bernhardt Capital to help all pilots get on the flight path to financial freedom through real estate.
Through Bernhardt Capital, pilots invest alongside him in large value-add multifamily deals across the sunbelt.
These types of investments require zero time and no real estate experience from the pilot. Simply invest and build up your cash flow and capital.
Imagine your life if you didn’t have to do any of those trips you don’t want to do. Simply drop them! You don’t need to work. ~

This left him with no job, an interest-only mortgage, a two-month-old, and close to $300,000 in student loan debt.

He now uses his blog, DebtFreeDr.com, to educate doctors and other high-income professionals on how to passively invest in real estate so that they can stop trading their time for money.

In this episode, you’ll learn:
About Lizzie Benzer
Lizzie Benzer started her journey into real estate as a realtor. She had dropped out of college when she was 19. And so, after being told to figure her life out, she found that that the threshold for becoming was not very high. And so, she took a real estate course, got her license in a few weeks, and started working under Keller Williams. At the time, many agents took her under their wing and helped get her name out. After all, nobody wanted a 19-year-old to sell their house, so she had to hustle her way to success for quite some time.
And after plenty of door-knocking and foreclosures, Lizzie learned a lot about real estate investing while working with lower-end properties. So, she had to work above and beyond to make a decent living for a while. But about seven years ago or so, Lizzie started the Red Door Group with her partner Robin Deshotels, working with a team of 11 people. Her first investment property was the first house she and her husband shared, which they fixed, lived in, and eventually raised two kids in. And, of course, she did not stop there. Lizzie Benzer continues to work in real estate full-time even to this day.

In this episode, Jake tells the story of the first property he acquired and how it taught him to be a better investor through the ups and downs of money. As a family housing investor, he wants to share a message that can help anyone take the leap to make their first investment. Jake's advice comes from a favorite quote that says, "A journey starts with a single step, not with thinking about taking a single step."
In this episode, you'll learn:
The lessons you learn from your 1st house. On financing and the pet peeves with most banks. Why a seller-financed deal is not always a good deal. "You need to be able to take care of your tenants." When it comes to development, it is small steps and not giant leaps that work. And much more!

Mike is an entrepreneur, real estate trainer, public speaker, and personal coach with a deep desire to help others live an extraordinary life. Hence, he founded My Core Intentions, a training and coaching platform to help real estate investors and industry professionals excel in their field. Today, Mike shares his journey, from getting into real estate, reflecting on his losses, and making things right by serving others.
In this episode, you’ll learn:
~
About Mike Morawski
With over 30 years of real estate experience, Michael “Mike” Morawski has controlled over $285,000,000 in real estate transactions. Mike entered the real estate industry as a sales agent, building a team that produced over $20 mm per year in sales production. Following his success, he started a private equity firm, raising $18 mm in private equity, and acquired $60 mm in multi-family apartments, including 4,000 units in five different US markets.
Mike has always believed that transparency and honesty are central to any successful business and personal life. But when the 2008 economic crisis happened, Mike let his guard down and let his transparency slip. The impact on his company and its real estate holdings left him scrambling to protect the company and its investors. As a result of his poor decisions, his company suffered while Mike faced wire and mail fraud charges, leading to a 10-year federal prison sentence.
While reflecting on his losses, Mike used his time in prison to make a difference. He and his story positively impacted the lives of others both in and outside the prison walls. Now, after founding My Core Intentions, Mr. Morawski helps real estate owners, operators, and other industry professionals make wise, responsible decisions while continuing to grow their businesses and create a profit. He is also the host of the Insider Secrets Podcast and the co-host of Multi-family Unplugged Vidcast.

Whitney Sewell is a country boy from rural Kentucky. He grew up riding horses and has always driven a Chevy truck. He is a veteran of the Army National Guard and spent all of 2005 deployed in Iraq. He was awarded the Soldier of the year that year. When he arrived home he began working for the Kentucky State Police and courting his lovely wife, to whom he’s been married for over 10 years. Whitney and his wife, Chelsea, have three children who came to their family by adoption.
They began investing in real estate in 2009 when it became clear that a career in law enforcement was not going to afford them the ability to live off one income as they desired. In 2017, they started Life Bridge Capital LLC, working with accredited investors and helping them improve their investment returns via the exceptional opportunities that multifamily syndication offers. Whitney has always had a passion for both real estate and helping others, and Life Bridge Capital LLC affords him the opportunity to do both, while also funding a very important cause that has become deeply personal. This becomes the best of both worlds for investors.
Through working with Whitney, investors not only receive exceptional returns financially but also change both the lives of orphans around the world and the lives of the families who adopt them. Whitney is quick to point out that while this is his own passion, he doesn’t make this the main focus to investors, but does hope a certain percentage feel good about what Life Bridge Capital does.
“We provide a fantastic return for our investors, and that’s why someone should invest with us first and foremost. However, it is my hope that this component of our business – us giving 50% of our own profit to adoption – perhaps helps sway someone to work with us, assuming all else is equal, of course. This is our calling, but our investors can smile knowing that just by working with us, they helped a little bit too.”
We have 450 doors under management valued at approximately $50 million.
Whitney is the host of The Real Estate Syndication Show, a daily podcast where he interviews experts in the real estate syndication business and provides essential content for his listeners. Life Bridge Capital's motto is: making a difference one investor, one child, at a time.
