This kicked off today, such a blast to be a part of such a historic year in baseball for Chicago!
We were hired to write a bangin' TV spot for WGN Sports, here in Chicago. As in the past, we knew we had to "knock it out of the park" - sorry for the pun - as the reputations of our FAVORITE SPORTS TEAMS were on the line.
We are beyond excited to say that we have written and released official Game Day music for the two final teams left standing in the NFL, Carolina Panthers and Denver Broncos.
The Broncos track, "Going Mile High" was requested for clearance during Super Bowl 48, but if you watched you may recall Broncos' lackluster performance — I think they're still trying to forget that one. Final score, 43-8, 'nuff said! =( "LACES OUT, DAN!"
In any event, it's an honor to have a connection to this monumental event, Super Bowl 50 is on it's way!
The mad scientists were at it again today, piecing together some fun drum loops for a new George Black release, as well as a brand new pop gem for Showoff.
Grammy award winning James Auwarter was on hand at IV Lab Studios to dial up some sa-weet drum sounds. All in all, we were all reminded why music = life and the studio = home.
More info on what we tracked here, once it's released!
We're thrilled to be able to share what we've been writing about for the past half a year with you! The new theme for Season 6 of Ninjago is... PIRATES!!! The Fold will be releasing the new music when the show premieres, but until then just know this... IT WILL BE EVERYTHING YOU CAN IMAGINE! This season is for sure the most epic yet.
The four-armed pirate genie-from-a-bottle and flaming sword bearing Kai’s face on its hilt is Nadakhan, or as LEGO Ninjago writers Brothers Hageman refer to him, “Nadagoodguy.” His troop of motley villains pictured include a hardcore Dennis Eckersley fan, a monkey with appropriately a wrench, a peg leg Serpentine hoisting a pirate flag, and some sort of possibly un-dead fella with warthog teeth and a serrated sword or over sized can opener. Other villains that may include an Hulk-like samurai wielding an anchor are on the move in the distance.
As the Season 6 title Skybound suggests, chunks of Ninjago will literally be floating in the air and the Ninjago will get to use their recently mastered Airjitzsu skills once again. The two ships and dragon pictured toward the top makes us wish the Destiny’s Bounty was still around. Who knows; maybe it is?
Sometimes, just sometimes, YouTube can be used for GOOD! In this case, we weren't able to physcially make it out to Denver to witness a Broncos game while our song was on the Jumbotron. Luckily, some dude on YouTube was all... "I GOT YOU, BRO!"
So here we are, the full production (albeit possibly filmed via an intoxicated guy's smart phone) of our song "Mile High" at Mile High Stadium. 2015, ah what a time to be alive!
Ninjago composers Michael Kramer and Jay Vincent were nominated for the BMI TV Music Award, which they won! Upon winning this prestigious award, they also became the youngest composers to receive a BMI Film & TV Award in the history of ever!
