Ethnomusicologist and bandoneonist Heyni Solera returns to the show to the show with songs from the still quite active Argentine Folkloric world. The influence and interplay between these traditions and tango is evident as we listen to Candombe, Chamamé, Chacarera, Samba, Gato, Vidala, and more.
Bandoneonist Heyni Solera journeyed to each of the three tango music festivals held in the summer in the United States at Stowe, Vermont, Indiana, and Reed College, and she returns with stories and music by some of the great contemporary masters of tango as well as stories of the experience of being a student of the genre and a special live studio performance on her bandoneon.
