Welcome to volume VIII of our Hayibo mixes. A showcase of African dance music mixed with international house/techno/whatever. Volume VIII sits at almost 2 hours and features everything from amapiano, SA house new and old to some international tracks we've been feeling lately.
Hayibo brings you mixes featuring African artists mixed with global ones to get you dancing and exposing you to new sounds.
Hayibo VII is coming at you a bit more uptempo with VIII to follow shortly for your low bpm pleasures. But for now, let out your aggression and dance the pain away with Hayibo VII.

aloneTOGETHER presents: Ermac Deep Mix 01.
I hope you are ready for this epic, 2.5 hour mix by Melbourne-based, UK bred techno and house DJ/producer Ermac. Ermac, also known as Tom Eastwood is one of the most knowledgable producers we've come across with a collection and studio that makes any gearhead drool. It really is a work of art to be in studio with him.
Ermac describes this deep mix as "a mix of more houser, groovier and deeper stuff. Inspired a lot by Steffi, the more Panorama Bar material stuff Ostgut put out, lots of stuff from their Zehn compilation....and also my Detroit collection, a fair few UR classics on here."
Make sure to follow his Soundcloud (https://soundcloud.com/ermacdj) where there is a variety of both mixes and original productions. I'd highly recommend listening to the banging techno on a decent pair of monitors or headphones! They deserve it.

Sydenham Club presents ALONETOGETHER Music Club which puts out a new music challenge each week. Week 1's challenge was to create a new original track. Here is Royal Bowie's entry "Alone Together". A song that tackles the oversight of mental well-being during a time when physical well-being is (justifiably) in focus. The physical solutions for the pandemic are simple. Perhaps that's why they aren't been taken so seriously? Who knows. If only the solutions for mental well-being were just as straight-forward as wash your hands and stay home for a bit.
If the narrator of my song were to describe it he would say:
"I've been locked inside my head long before I was locked inside my room. What advice are we given about how to deal with this global crisis and all the negative thoughts that arise from say, the complacency of a government, irresponsibility of our fellow citizen, the rising death count or the suffering of the living?: Wash your hands, keep your distance. That's it. That's all. The song features an acoustic guitar with heavy echo symbolizing the echos of all this information to the point where the instrument and therefore this avalanche of content makes it barely intelligible. It becomes noise and turbulent in the mind from over-saturation. There is no clear sense of timing in the song as we are all uncertain about when this phase of our lives will end, if at all. The song is about frustration, apathy and self-expression."
