SANCTUARY X IS NOW 'BISHOP'

BISHOP has been releasing music since 2003 under the name Sanctuary X.

He has been making Electronic Music since 1992.

In the 70’s, it was disco, country, rock and 50’s. 80’s was Rap / Breakdance, Top 40, New Wave and Hair Metal. 90’s was NIN, C + C Music Factory and Snap. The last 3 inspired Bishop to make music with Computers.

Bishop, first worked in Industrial Jobs, then Film. While at an industrial job he began writing Rap lyrics in 1991. He would hone this skill before meeting Rob White, an award winning high school composer that wrote on an Amiga, in 1992. Shortly thereafter, he met Urceus Exit’s Richard Duggan at a Fashion Show. Richard had just released his first album.

By 1996, Bishop was making music on his own Amiga and furthered that at Vancouver Film School in 1999. By 2002, he had a laptop with Acid and Rebirth. He sent remixes to upcoming artists, such as Wanting. By 2003, he released a remix of Urceus Exit’s ‘Why Must We Think This Way’ with original vocals from their debut album 10 years earlier.

Bishop completed Acting School at Vancouver Film School and worked in Film full-time before opening an MMA School and making music in the back of the gym.

In 2009 and 2010, Sanctuary X remixed 'Ring my Bell', 'Lust for Love', and a Kesha 'Don't Stop' remix.  He also remixed a track for Elisa King, redid Joan Jett's classic 'I love Rock and Roll' in an electronically style. He recorded ‘Hallalujah’, and continued to make original music.

Sanctuary X released 'Dark Electro' on a 1 song CD called Archives to 33 Digital Stores in 2010.  Bishop released a music video on Youtube.  Bishop acquired a music Publisher in early 2011.

In 2011, Bishop acquired new studio gear and software and released 'Dirty', a DubStep track that pushed Bishop to change his production skills.  The results are noticeable and positive.  The track is avant garde,  pushing melodic trance-like synths with face-melting wobble bass.  The mastering alone is a huge step forward for Sanctuary X.

With some 400 tracks to work with, new skills, gear and software, Sanctuary X may finally be coming into it's own.

Starting in 2013, Bishop began to DJ and putting together a Live Show. Bishop has been inspired by Skrillex, Diplo and Rezz and been writing songs to release.

2018, Bishop released ‘Get Over Here’, a hard-hitting Techno track, along with a graphic music video.

2019 is proving to be a great year with a bunch of releases coming. First up is LOL, a free download. Stay Tuned!

Officially, Sanctuary X is now Bishop.
