Going deeper with God requires deep waters. Ezekiel 47 gives an illustration of the Lord instructing Ezekiel to wade into the deep waters of the river of life that will flow from God's throne in the New Jerusalem.
Jesus took 3 disciples up a mountain for the greatest mountain-top experience of all time: The Transfiguration. Jesus transformed from Jesus in Human form into Jesus as Divine God on the Mountain, foreshadowing what was to come and give hope for all eternity.
Moses ascended Mount Sinai 8 times according to scriptures. Each trip was an encounter with God and a time to receive instruction for leadership, finishing with an encounter that left Moses' face glowing. Our lives should be a reflection of God's radiance, just like Moses.
Abraham was instructed by God to climb a mountain and sacrifice his son, Isaac, on an alter. Before the sacrifice occurred, God spared Isaac and provided a ram in His place. Abraham's obedience teaches us to say, "Here I am, Lord."
Jesus called us to be the "salt of the earth" and the "light of the world..." May this message both remind us why living for Jesus is so needed in this world around us and may it be an an encouragement to the church in the days ahead.
What if we became people who didn’t fear endured hardships for Christ, but embraced it as a normal thing that happens to us when we live on mission for Jesus?

During our "One Church" Sunday, we were encouraged by the preaching of John the Baptist, who preached about how people of faith should treat other people. This is an important message to be heard during this Christmas Season.
"How we live our life matters to God..." Jesus tells us in today's passage to "stay alert" and "not let our hearts be dulled by the worries of the world." This sermon reminds us to stop saying, "Someday Lord..." and start saying "Today!"
