I wrote this a few weeks ago, initially as a joke but while I was doing it I realised I was so pissed off with the cruel narcissistic and self-serving morons running our country that I was actually serious. This is a quick live demo, I'm about to record it properly for my next album "Songs for the end of the world"
Runaway was inspired by a nest woven by Stefanie Robinson from a piece of rope washed up on the Newport breakwater, and the artist's wondering about how the rope found its way there. The Runaway's story is at http://stefanierobinson.com/2013/01/15/the-runaway/ This recording was done simply to add to a soundscape for an installation that The Runaway was a part of. For me it's a demo, and the raw material for a more developed recording. (The instrumental section, a layering of four guitar parts recorded one after the other on the same guitar and amp, is probably my favourite thing I have ever recorded.)
