What so we do when Jesus doesn't do what He said He would do..... when we want Him to?
This is one of life's hardest realities to face. We don't serve a God who works on our timetable. The good news is though, He isn't absent minded or indifferent to the real situations we face in life. What He does is cause every situation we face to work for the maturing of our faith.
In this message, Pastor Bryan Pue, unpacks some key principles from a passage of scripture that reveals how Jesus is The Resurrection and The Life.
Continuing on in our Candidate series with Pastor Mitch. He is going to be talking about how Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. We know you are going to be blessed and encouraged by it! In a time and season where it can feel like you are being led in multiple different directions, it is so important to remember to let Jesus lead you, speak to you, and for you to walk in what He says. When we do this, we get to experience the peace, rest and righteousness that Jesus desires for us.
There’s no wasting the bread of life! Join us as Pastor Mitch gathers us together to celebrate communion as a church family.
And who doesn’t love bread!
The start of our prayer and fasting series.
Jesus, our true candidate, the light of the world.
Pastor Mitch sets a platform for the next 3 weeks of a Holy Fast where we won’t settle for anything less than God’s presence. We need to put our mind’s attention and our heart’s affection on the Lord.
“Now set you mind and heart to seek the Lord your God.” - 1 Chronicles 22:19
How do you find a friend? Are you looking to find your tribe? We all are looking for that sense of belonging. Pastor Dave Schapansky helps us find our sense of belonging. He shows us, as a connected church, how we can help each other find a friend in Jesus.
Sunday mornings are not the pinacol of growth for a healthy church. what are you doing during the week to be the body of Christ? Build the family altar at home and start from there.
We serve a God who is large and in charge! As followers, we don't have to have everything under control. We need to trust in our God. He is preparing a feast for us, the same way we prepare a thanksgiving feast this weekend. When we come to God's table we can eat what He has prepared for us without worry. We can trust that everything is taken care of with a love beyond measure.
How does the collective church stay relevant in these times that we are living in? Spending time with Jesus is meant to mark a way that is unmistakably relevant to culture.
Look to the church of Acts for how we can come bolding to God. They were such a great example of the hunger we can have for the Holy Spirit. We need to mature in our relationship with Jesus and the Father. Let’s reignite our first love of Jesus!
No one can fill your spot in the church. Pastor Mitch talks with us about how we make up the whole church. He tells us about how we are attached by faith together. We are attached to our living God and His Son who died and rose for us.
Pastor Mitch starts off a new series today all about the church. He talks to us about the church being a collective that gathers. Together we come to hear the voice of God.
What are you counting down to? We all have countdowns that happen in our lives, whether it be to big things like weddings or simple things like payday. Pastor Roy Rubuliak speaks to us about this period of time leading up to our countdowns being done. With God on the move, we need to be prepared for God’s ready, set, go!
Emotional tug-of-war takes us no where but back and forth. Pastor Mitch tells us about avoiding that war by not picking up our end of the rope in the first place.
Just like Jesus’s disciples in the boat, we need to keep our eyes on Him and not on the storm because Jesus never slumbers. God and His Son are never changing through these days of ours. We need remember to lean on Him to be our guidepost.
Every day, we get to make a choice to fear the worst or hope for the best. We have the opportunity to grow in our faith with Jesus in control and strong enough to get us through the storms of life.
Jesus sets the order straight on how to respond to cold cultural rejection and the myriad of rising criticisms. Love gains the space, time and influence that nothing else can or ever will.
Growth in the Kingdom of God is not like the growth of this world. So often we are tempted to elevate ourselves in order to appear approved by God. Instead, let’s focus on what brings lasting growth and favour from Him - a soft and humble heart that is dependent on Him.
The Bible has a lot to say about governments and leaders, which isn’t always reflected by what we see is our nation today. We need to be Kingdom people first, asking God for a radical restoration over our land - and it starts in us first. A genuine reformation of people will lead to the reformation of our nation.
Our memories of the fathers in our lives - even those that have long passed - reach through time like they are still in their favorite chair. Those moments we shared are God-given and they transform us, they shape us even now because they are the love of a Father.
Repentance is more than saying sorry; it’s not about crocodile tears, but a genuine broken heart for the wrong we’ve committed against God and a desire to follow His ways. Repentance is not about being afraid of God, but seeing that we’ve wronged the One who loves us so deeply. It involves not only a change in action but also a change of mind and heart.
One of these things is not like the other. As disciples and followers of Jesus, we should continually be looking and sounding different as we become more like Him. This is an invitation to you to learn how to walk wholeheartedly after Jesus who will satisfy you more than the world ever could.
The philosopher, Baloo the Bear, once referred to the “bear necessities” of life. As misguided as he was, he was correct in one thing: life requires basic principles, rules and routine. Jesus spoke of these “unforced rhythms of grace” in Matthew 11 which encapsulate what it meant to be a Jesus follower. In closing the series, we hear about the need for each person to take all the information and truth discussed over the previous weeks and piece all of it together to build their own rhythm of life with Jesus.
Living a healthy life requires living in alignment to God’s will and order. Living a life “in the pocket” means we live in the sweet spot of grace and truth. We cannot allow ourselves to be led astray by false doctrine. false prophets, and a world bent on lawlessness. Based on the book of Jude, we hope to layout the need of partnership with the Lord and the major consequences that take place if we refuse to walk in faith and trust.
Our spirits have been made alive through the Holy Spirit. We are now able to set our spiritual tempo to the metronome of God. When we do this, we are able to access a divine power and nature to rise above earthly physical confines and begin to walk in the power of God. This message will layout the biblical and practical realities of walking "by the Spirit" through prayer and worship.
We won’t find our rhythm with God until we choose to remember who He is and what He can do. We need to see Him as the one who creates beauty out of disappointment. When we look to Jesus, He shows us that beautiful things can grow out of the dirt. The story isn’t over until He says it is.
The soul (mind, will and emotions) is a great servant but is a horrible master. It's not that the soul should be fired; it's just not supposed to be boss. Our emotional health is a non-negotiable dynamic of the overall healthy life we need to be cultivating. Just like the warning light on our vehicles dashboard, our emotions alert us when something is not okay. Let's bring clarity to the difference between soul and spirit and align it to its proper place and develop patterns that keep there.
The fact that we are a body is often and easily belittled in Christian faith. There is a fleshly nature that we are meant to put to death, by the grace of the Holy Spirit, but there is also a flesh that we are meant to nourish and cherish. As a body we have become the house of the Spirit of God. We can’t afford to allow our houses to fall apart. We must restore the value of the body back to its proper place by appreciating and taking responsibility for the health of ourselves.
We are not just a spirit but, also a soul and body. How God has uniquely designed us in His image, is vital for us to understand if we are to live healthy lives. All dimensions are equal but have different functions. It is our goal to bring biblical harmony between the three dimensions that make us human.
Since the beginning, we were at war with God. The fight for our independence and control did not bring the ultimate peace we were so desperately needing. Hostility on our side created a chasm between us and the very One who is the source of peace.
But then, God made the first step to end the war – He sent His Son. Jesus’ life voluntarily sacrificed for us has broken the power of death and hostility. And now God offers every person a peace treaty signed with His own blood. The barrier separating us from a peaceful loving relationship with Him has been broken. Hatred died as God’s love won this war.
It’s your time to engage in the peace talks with God.
Jesus says that He is the way, the truth and the life, but what does that look like for us in our daily living? Pastor Mitch preaches a message that walks us down the path Jesus walked on Palm Sunday. We are challenged to look at our lives with honesty, and allow the Saviour to come in and save us.
Zane Erickson joins us for a morning coffee and thoughts on how to help us get through this season.
Pastor Dave and Tammy Schapansky were live online helping us find our feet in this season of uncertainty. They provide some helpful tools and weapons to fight off fear and anxiety. Because God loves us, we can trust Him to walk us through our worry.
Giving and tithing are not the same. Tithing, from a pure heart, is giving to God what was already His. Giving is then taking the 90% (minimum) remainder of that increase in your life and looking to bless those around us who are in need, trusting the Lord to cause what has been sown to come back in miraculous and unique ways.
We don't serve a God who is bound by the natural laws of this life. We serve a God who is able to cause multiplication to happen supernaturally. But He won’t multiple what is not in His hands – it only comes when we live a life of sacrificial giving.
