The word theology has sometimes sounded as something superficial to a lot of Christians and as if it is limited to those who have received training from theological institutions creating a gap in various ways. There are people in the ministry without any form of theological training yet are having theological engagements. There are even Christians who don’t believe in theological education and/or even see it as evil. This is a big challenge to the Christian faith today, especially in Africa, and it calls for attention. How do we then bridge the gap? Listen to this month’s webinar as Dr Awokoya S.O. David will be speaking on the topic, Theology: In Between Training and Practice, The Missing Link.Dr. Awokoya S.O David is a faculty member of ECWA Theological Seminary, Igbaja Kwara State Nigeria in the faculty of Biblical Studies and Theology. Everyone is made with uniqueness. In that uniqueness, we are still made in the image of God, called by God and given a purpose from God. As we explore our individuality, it is all too easy to make ourselves the center of attention when it comes to serving others and serving God. Instead, we need to see our unique talents, gifts and abilities in a way that aligns with God and unifies ourselves in the calling He has designed for us. Listen to this month’s Bible teaching webinar as Dr Awokoya S.O. David will be speaking on the topic, How Did God Make Me? We are excited to invite you to a special webinar highlighting the incredible work of a team of volunteers who have taken time off work and paid their way to come to Africa to teach literacy with Godly content to churches and schools in Tanzania. This team is truly living out the testimony of witnessing to others and reaching those in need, spanning each decade of life from the 20s to 50s, bringing a range of Christian life experiences to serve the teachers and children of Tanzania.Partnering with the Africa Inland Church of Tanzania, this team has trained over 120 pastors and evangelists in their literacy program to reach hundreds of schools and churches in the Lake Victoria region of Tanzania. They will also discuss the literacy program itself, the heart of volunteerism, and the partnership it takes to change a nation. This is an excellent opportunity to learn from individuals who have willingly put aside the urgencies of their lives to be present in a mission to uplift other Christians.Thank you for your interest in this important work. "According to Collins Dictionary, bitterness is a feeling someone experiences after a disappointment or after being treated unfairly, they continue to feel angry about it"'. Isn’t it true that we all have every reason to be bitter? Are there any among us who have not been exploited, abused, cheated, or just ignored? Together we want to delve into this classic case of Hannah, the mother of prophet Samuel, to learn how to deal with this negative sentiment that could damage a lot of things if not handled properly by allowing God in His sovereignty to step in and have His way ( 1 Sam.1: 1-20 ) ... It is to this end, that we all may be encouraged to assess our obedience to God and reaffirm our commitment to a life of unflinching obedience to the Lord in season and out of season. In Christianity, self-evaluation and reflecting on one’s impact on others is an important part of spiritual growth and understanding one’s role in the world. And as Christians, we are called to model our lives after Jesus and strive to follow HIS example. This means that in evaluating ourselves, we should look to see if we are living out the values and teachings of Jesus which includes things like love, compassion, forgiveness, and humility. We should also consider the impact we have on others. Are we living in a way that reflects the love and grace of God, or are we causing harm and division? Are we using our gifts and talents to serve others and bring Glory to God or are we using them solely for our own benefit? Join us at this month’s webinar as Winnie Njenga will be speaking on the topic: Evaluating Ourselves and Our Impact.
From our assurance of salvation that we can understand in 1 John chapters 3 and 5, we have a sonship through Christ (John 1:11-13). From this redemptive process in Christ (Colossians 1:13) we have a reconciled life (2 Corinthians 5:17-21) that is assured of His presence (Matthew 28:20). If we can live obediently, we will benefit and attract the Lord's blessing (Isaiah 1:18-20) and further comprehend the forgiveness we have (Ephesians 1:6-7, Romans 5:6-7). Therefore, Christians should always live with confidence in their minds and their hearts because God has clearly given them a better life along with the future to come. This means, that we, as Christians, should be ready to help others see and know Christ in this way (Matthew 5:13-17, Colossians 4:5-7). Join us at this month’s webinar as Bishop Pharles Kisena speaks on the topic CONFIDENCE IN OUR CHRISTIAN WALK IS A REALITY WE SHOULD HAVE. Of the several hundred churches within his regions, he is passionate to understand the basic needs of humans and to see to their spiritual needs of fulfillment. Currently enrolled as a student in Asbury Theological Seminary, Bishop Peter has already obtained his PhD from African University in Kenya, with a well-established background in education and theology.
Often, people make their decisions about life without even thinking about God. As a Christian, when we do this, we are especially challenged by God's call on our lives. We often imagine ourselves as something and move towards that goal, but if we are called, God has a plan that is often not our own. This talk is about being called to a life that is God's plan, not our own. As we do this, we need to discipline ourselves in hearing God, listening to Him, responding in Obedience, we need to undergo the changes He wants and truly begin our journey of faith. When we do this, we are often becoming what we never even imagined! Join us at this month’s webinar as Pastor Aliome Humphrey speaks on the topic Being What You Never Imagined - Our Plans and God's Plans Aliome Humphrey is a child of God who is committed and passionate about adolescents and students coming to know the Lord. Pioneering is in the DNA of the gospel. Paul, as he pioneered with the gospel, seemed unhindered by some of the obstacles that trip us up in current times. We look at the pioneering heart of the gospel and look to remove some of the typical obstacles to pioneering as we stir up men and women to take the gospel to the ends of the earth. Listen this webinar as Ian Edwards speaks on the topic Courage to Pioneer.
Everyone experiences God moments, times when God pulls back the curtain and gives a glimpse of his active presence in their lives. Most of us operate under the misapprehension that these moments are rare occurrences that reveal themselves in grand fashion. We expect bells ringing, lights flashing, and neon signs that point to earthshaking revelations. But God often speaks in whispers, strategically and incrementally unveiling his plans, preparations, and purposes through the most unassuming circumstances. The key is to learn how to prepare for, recognize, and be faithful in these moments. Watch this month's webinar as Amaziba Ministries President Elisha Kakwerere speaks on the topic "Not Missing Moments with a Loving God".
Generous is a word we may use to describe people who have positively impacted our lives. Although generosity is often associated with monetary gifts, generosity extends well beyond money and includes small acts of kindness and compassion from a loved one, friend or even a stranger.
Principles and examples of generosity are evident throughout the Bible and are just as applicable in our modern-day relationships, communities, and workplaces as they were 2,000 years ago. Whether you are on the receiving end of a generous act or benefited from the fulfillment and joy of giving to others, generosity is a character trait that we can all appreciate.
Listen to this webinar as Our Daily Bread Author and Editor Tim Gustafson speaks on the topic "Christian Generosity".
Jesus's famous command, "love your neighbor as yourself" (Mark 12:31) is often easier said than done, especially when it comes to that neighbor across the fence or next door. Some people do admit it's often easier to love the "neighbor" across the ocean than the one across the road. Distance allows us to feel good about less involvement, but Jesus asks us to help where there is a need. That means knowing the need, and knowing the neighbor. Listen to this webinar as Professor Remi Sonaiya speaks on the topic The Debt I Owe My Neighbor and helps us understand how to put Jesus's command into action.
It is well-known that there are several different Greek words that are translated with the word love, but the love called for in John’s letter in the Bible is the word agape, which speaks of the highest form of love there is. This form of love is characterized by self-sacrifice and is the kind of love that God displayed for us by Christ’s sacrifice (John 3:16). The kind of love that causes John to address his friends as agapetoi—beloved, or, “divinely loved ones”.
John is reminding us that the love that we have been given by God is the love that we are to give to one another.
Join us at this month’s webinar as Our Daily Bread Ministries Vice President of Teaching Content, Bill Crowder speaks on the topic
"All You Need is Love"
Someone once said, the need to make sense of our lives seems to be a fundamental human drive. We all do it by interpreting our individual experiences in light of some larger controlling story. The “small stories” of our everyday lives take on whatever meaning corresponds to the “big story” around which we organize our existence. Therefore, the same event can be portrayed in radically different ways depending on the foundational story through which it is interpreted. In the midst of the current COVID-19 pandemic, individuals are not only experiencing and responding to these events in different ways, they are also explaining what is happening in different ways—corresponding to whatever core story they believe in. For followers of Jesus, the overarching story within which we interpret the countless episodes of our daily lives is the one that unfolds across the pages of Scripture. How well do the stories we tell about ourselves and our experiences fit into God’s Big Story? In what ways do our stories of what we are living through these days connect to God’s Big Story? Join us in this webinar as Our Daily Bread Author and Editor Tim Gustafson speaks on the topic "God's Story and Ours"

His passion lies in his desire, “to see the body of Christ enter into the fullness of the truth of the gospel and thereby become accurate witnesses of the full stature of Jesus, as we take the kingdoms of this world and submit them to our God and His Christ.” He is married to Pastor Sarah Chingtok and God has blessed them with children; Zoe, Zion and Zinariya.
Think about the hymn “Holy, Holy, Holy,” which calls God’s people to worship of and communion with the God who is both accessible and mysterious. The first verse of that hymn ends with these words, “God in three Persons blessed Trinity.” Talk about mystery!!. The one God who manifests Himself in three distinct persons is beyond our description and our comprehension, yet this is the God who has invited us into a relationship with Him. Join us in a live webinar as Bishop Emmanuel A. S. Egbunu; the Anglican Bishop of Lokoja Diocese speaks on the topic HOW MAY WE UNDERSTAND THE TRINITY?
Justice and mercy can seem like opposing ideas. Justice requires the recompense for wrongs done, the wrongdoer to “pay the price” or make restitution in some way. Mercy on the other hand, is almost the antithesis of justice. It is the withholding of the deserved punishment for a crime or offense. Paradoxically, we all want mercy for ourselves and to see justice in the world. But what if justice begins well before the criminal system? What if mercy is more than just withholding punishment? By understanding these ideas from God’s view, we begin to see that justice has failed if it relies on the courts, and mercy is thin if it requires a wrong to be excused.
We can see the hand of God in everything. But is this really true? What about the bad things that happen? What about situations that seem totally random? Our Daily Bread Author and Editor Tim Gustafson will share his thoughts with us on how he is learning to see God in every situation and subject, including family, football, and DNA test kits. We’ll take a look at how Jesus prayed for us, and what He prayed for: our union with Him, and with each other.
We live in uncertain times and the COVID _19 pandemic has no doubt added to the challenges of these uncertainties. How should we cope with the challenges we face?; pretend they don't exist and move on with our lives?. This month our Guest Speaker, Professor Bulus Galadima, will lead us through a conversation that will enable us to see that our confidence comes not from certainty, but from clarity. It is hard to be certain these days because there is so much that is unknown, and everything is fluid and evolving, but we can trust in the God who has knowledge of everything even before they happen. Professor Galadima will be speaking to us on 'Nehemiah A Man with a Mission: Strategies for Success'. Prof. Bulus and his wife Rose are passionate about discipleship and mentoring young leaders in ministry. They are co-founders of Almanah Rescue Mission in Jos, Nigeria, a ministry that caters to widows and orphans as well as MMD (More Than a Mile Deep), an educational ministry to train pastors in Africa who are not able to go to seminary full-time. Bulus had his graduate studies at the Wheaton Graduate School, Illinois and Trinity International University, Deerfield, Illinois. He was Dean, and later President of JETS (Jos ECWA Theological Seminary) and most recently Dean of the Cook School of Intercultural Studies at Biola University, California. He is currently a Co-Catalyst of Diasporas with the Lausanne Movement.

With all that is happening around us at this time, we need all the encouragement we can get, not only to survive the period, but to also be strengthened in our spirit, soul and body. Join us as Our Daily Bread Author and Vice President for Content Review Bill Crowder speaks on the Ministry of Encouragement. We not only need encouragement, but we can also become an encouragement to others like Barnabas.
Without hope, people rarely survive events beyond their control — be it natural catastrophes like droughts, pandemics such as COVID_19, illnesses, or human induced crises like wars. Such events can threaten life's meaning and lead to depression. Regardless of how depression comes, it can hold the soul hostage and if left unattended, it can develop into a severe struggle that drains life of its hope and energy. There is nothing as heart-wrenching as looking into the eyes of a struggling person who has no hope in the midst of crises.
How do you feel when you are disappointed by people. Are you able to let it go? While it's normal to feel disappointment, learning to handle it correctly and processing the emotions that come with it is crucial to maintaining your physical, mental and spiritual well-being. No one is immune from disappointment but if not properly handled, it can add to our daily stressors. It may not be possible for you to control how people behave to you, but it is possible to control how you respond. There is a "wise response" and there is an "unwise response" to disappointments. Join us at this webinar to learn how to handle disappointment wisely and also support people around us who are going through it, as Bill Crowder, a great and experienced Bible teacher, talks on HANDLING DISAPPOINTMENT WITH PEOPLE
Our mission is to make the life-changing wisdom of the Bible understandable and accessible to all and our vision is to see people of all nations experiencing a personal relationship with Christ, growing to be more like Him, and serving in a local body of His family.
