Quotes Norwegian dj balErik (nice name) is building props left right and center, playing alongside S.O.S and generally rocking the quality deep house sound. But it’s his productions that really made us notice. Go to his myspace and check out the likes of ‘Energy Fields’ with lush progressive synths, and recognize a star in the making. "A deejay to watch out for “ ,Desyn Masiello -Source Dj Mag Oct. 2005
"One the most entertaining and quality up and coming DJ’s around. Knows how to move a floor and doesn’t try to be to cool. Also good with the ladies so I've heard. Not bad for an ex reindeer driver" Rowan Blades.

balErik - Freshblood - WE LOVE SPACE - December 09 WINNER: Hailing from Oslo, balErik has gained a big following in Norway and from the mix he sent us we can see why. Inspired by a set he played in a New York club, it's got that classic house sound that became synonymous with the Ibiza music scene. This mixed with some more modern techno tipped tracks lends itself to a great mix and a deserving winner.
I was suppose to have a gig at Karusell last night, but because of the lock down period we are in that could not happen. So i decided to do a stream from my living room instead. The plan was to do 1 to 2 hours, but I enjoyed myself so ended up doing 4.5 hours of mostly old house music :)

Mix I did for JaegerMix http://jaegeroslo.no/jm097-balerik/
BalErik makes his second appearance on the Jæger mix this week with a mix that is a “little more Detroit techno” than his first for the mix series. Playing our courtyard during one of the many blistering evenings we’ve had in Oslo, BalErik puts the soul back into electronic music without sacrificing energy.
Chirping synthesisers and luxurious pads float above deep, plundering bass and rhythm sections pounding out 4/4 beats at excessive tempos. BalErik’s set doesn’t pander to the idea of an opening set with the Dirty Groove resident giving us a glimpse of peak time during one of his nights.
Energetic and lively, but still very soulful, BalErik shows there’s more to his sections than his name might suggest.
Give us an introduction to your Jæger mix.
The mix is a blend of some old and new tunes, some I have played a lot in clubs and bars, and some I have not had the chance to play out yet. Tracks from Dub Taylor, Deniro, Afriqua, Roman Lindau, Cari Lekebusch etc.
How is it different from the last Jæger mix you did and how is it the same?
I guess this mix has a little more Detroit techno vibe vs more house vibe on the first one.
