Many argue we need bail reform alongside of criminal justice reform. However, not many agree. Ken Good is on the Board of Directors for the Professional Bondsman of Texas and he has some critiques of the bail reform movement and how we tackle criminal justice as a whole.
About Ken W. Good - Board of Directors, Professional Bondsmen of Texas:
Ken W. Good graduated from Hardin Simmons University in 1982 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. He received a Master of Education Degree in 1986 from Tarleton State University, a part of the Texas A&M System. In 1989, he received his law degree from Texas Tech School of Law, where he was a member of the Texas Tech Law Review. Mr. Good has argued cases before the Supreme Court of Texas and the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals, along with numerous courts of appeals, including the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. He is the author of "Good’s on Bail," a practice guide created for bail industry professionals. In addition, he has written numerous articles on the subject of bail reform, including, “What Successful Bail Reform Looks Like.” Mr. Good is married and has two daughters.

The other day I watched in horror as families piled into lines to get free food. This pandemic is taking a toll on so many people and forcing us to look at the structural failures of our society. So today I take a look at some of our previous episodes. A year ago this month, Two black men were arrested for doing the same things white people were doing. Sitting in a Starbucks but not drinking their coffee. With the help of Melissa and Michelle this incident spread like a wildfire causing Starbucks to extend apologies, and complete sensitivity training for all it's employees. Since then, the ladies started an organization called From Privilege to Progress. Together they are using their platform to discuss the biases and privilege white people enjoy and how they can use their privilege to be better allies for black people and other people of color.

However, are we being taught how to manage our financial burdens and be civic participants in America?
