Live A Little: Recent Episodes

Gloria Catlin

As highschoolers we get told the phrase " live a little" all the time when being pressured into not so good things. On this podcast I'm turning that phrase around, and speeking truths about what truly living is, when you have a relationship with Jesus Christ. Throughout high school, I have been faced with the challenge of navigating sexuality; however, I have been doing so through the lens of my own human eyes. The older I have gotten, the more I have needed answers, community, and open conversation. I felt lonely in my sexual immorality sin and didn't know how to talk about how I was feeling. I took to the internet to find a podcast about purity; I wanted to hear from Christians who have been in the same place I am in. I FOUND NOTHING! I mean, I found a couple of condemning websites and 35-year-old people saying "when I was in high school" before Snapchat even existed! The live a little podcast's mission is to provide open conversations about the daily life of believers finding their way. I decided not to leave my listeners out on this journey to repentance. The first time you sin, you are no longer pure, but through forgiveness and the amazing sacrifice Christ made for us on the cross. We are made new daily in his never-failing love. God calls us to glorify him in all we do, including what we do with our bodies. In this episode, siblings Julianna and Daniel Parham help me unpack and discuss sexual immorality sins through the lens of the bible to help better understand God's purpose for sex. This is a tough conversation, it's long, and we are not perfect. We are just trying to figure it out, and we are using the blessing of community to grow our faith. Take what you hear, search for scripture on your own, and then apply what you learn to your life. This is a long episode; however, I encourage you to take the time to listen to the whole thing, even if you have to take a couple of breaks! Thank you for allowing me to be vulnerable and honest; I hope what we have to say encourages you to have the courage to talk about uncomfortable topics that might not end with the answer you want. I'm praying for each of you, and I ask that you also pray for me and Julianna and Daniel as we trust God with this vulnerable conversation.
