During his senior season at Temple University, Palmer ran for 1,866 yards and 15 touchdowns, earning him runner-up to the 1986 Heisman trophy and consensus All-American honors. Palmer also holds the single season and career rushing yard records at Temple. He was selected in the first round, 19th overall, by the Kansas City Chiefs in the 1987 NFL Draft. In 2018, he was inducted to the College Football Hall of Fame.

After suffering ACL injuries in both his 2018 and 2019 seasons at the University of Maryland, Jake proved himself as an NFL talent in a spectacular 2020 campaign. Funk rushed for 129 yards per game and averaged 8.6 yards per carry, which ranked second out of all FBS running backs. Jake Funk was drafted by the LA Rams with the 5th pick in the 7th round of the 2021 NFL Draft. This is his story.
