You’ve heard “iron sharpens iron,” but have you ever understood it through the hands of someone who works with steel every day? Tom Krein breaks down the surprising, ancient process behind sharpening—and the life-changing metaphor it reveals. This episode will reshape how you think about growth, mentorship, and manhood.

Tom Krein is a knifemaker, designer, instructor, and craftsman who has been making knives since 1993. He learned the craft under legendary maker Bob Dozier, spent more than two years running the A.G. Russell Custom Shop, and has been a full-time maker since 2002. Tom is known for his small fixed blades, folders, and clean, functional grinding work, along with design collaborations with Böker Knives and CRKT.

Before knifemaking became his full-time path, Tom earned an AS in Nursing from Southern Adventist University and spent 18 years working in ICU, CCU, and ER settings. Outside the shop he’s a husband, father of three grown boys, and a proud grandfather — a role he says keeps life in perspective and reminds him why craftsmanship and legacy matter.

Jay McElroy was born and raised on a small farm in Cuba, AL, where he spent his childhood roaming the fields and woods surrounding his home. He attended Bass Memorial Academy in Lumberton, MS, graduating in 1984, and then pursued higher education at Southern Adventist University, where he earned his degree and married Stefanie in 1987. After college, he worked for two years before enrolling at the University of Alabama with Stefanie, where he earned an MBA alongside her. Following graduation, he moved back to Cuba, AL, with Stefanie, joining the family trucking business, where he remains today. Jay and Stefanie have two married sons, four grandchildren, and a fifth grandchild due soon. Growing up in the rural South laid the foundation for his love of the outdoors, which evolved into a passion for ultra-distance endurance events. He has completed three Ironman races, seven 100-mile races, and two 200-mile events, in addition to dozens of shorter-distance competitions. His passion for endurance sports began with a desire to improve his health and redirect the path he was on.

In this conversation, Marty and Jay explore physical fitness as a core male strength. Jay emphasizes mental toughness over physical limits, sharing tales of frostbite and hallucinations, yet finding God’s awe in nature. Despite a spinal fusion at 40, intestinal surgery, and melanoma, he thrives by staying active. Rest—8-8.5 hours nightly—and Sabbath renewal are vital, rooted in scriptures like Ecclesiastes 9 (“do it with all your might”). With a supportive wife, Jay urges men to set goals, push limits, and embrace trail running’s spiritual rewards. His message: take the first step—whether a 5K or beyond—to unlock God-given potential, blending physical endurance with faith and resilience.

Keven’s story starts on a family farm in rural Minnesota. His dad was a fifth-generation farmer, raising dairy cows and growing organic crops—quite a sight! Back then, Keven wasn’t aware that he was living what many millennials now dream of. He had a garden full of fresh vegetables, some fruit trees, and fresh milk from his own dairy. Hard times for a small operation pushed both Keven’s parents from a self-sustaining, at-home lifestyle to full-time jobs with a long commute. Keven and his sister went from homeschooling to classrooms, and his entire lifestyle changed drastically. By the time Keven was in the 9th grade, he weighed over 240 pounds with a 40-inch waist. He was constantly getting injured trying to keep up with his peers. Thanks to some teachers and mentors, Keven was introduced to Acro Sport and physical exercise, and he began his personal health journey. Keven has spent over a decade working in the health and fitness field, serving as a personal trainer, nutrition coach, and coordinating corporate wellness programs in Knoxville, TN. Professionally speaking, Keven felt on top of the world. However, he was burning the candle at both ends. Keven’s sleep was poor, he was running on caffeine, and he tried to ignore the stress. After his first child was born in 2021, Keven chose to cut back and stay home with his kid, and that’s when he realized how unprepared he truly was for the real world. Three years later, Keven has added one more child to his resume and is ready to share what he has learned with others. Keven is deeply devoted to helping driven individuals who care about their careers, families, and health to thrive.

A long time friend of the ministry, Dave Ketelsen is an avid runner, he has completed 64 marathons, and has qualified for Boston 64 times. Besides running he loves to focus on Jesus and looks for opportunities to share what a wonderful Friend and Savior He truly is.

Dave once fell off a 45 foot waterfall and survived, he came face to face within two feet from a bear at Yosemite, and scaled a 6 ft high fence narrowly escaping a charging bull. An interesting fact about Dave is that he has been doing 100 push-ups every day for the past 30+ years.

Pastor Dave is married to his beautiful wife Debbie and has four amazing children, Austin, Myles, Jayla and Collin. And don't forget Gizmo their awesome Golden/lab. His main goal in life is getting sinners into heaven and saints out of bed, to comfort the disturbed and disturb the comfortable.

We are thankful for you. Here's the gift of a Thanksgiving Special unlike any you have ever heard. There’s no turkey, football, or Pilgrims in this story. But there is a simple life lesson that can transform your home and your heart. Listen to this episode with your family or small group and use these discussion questions to go deeper.  1. The wise farmer in the story said, “We must be thankful in all situations.” How did this impact the way he saw life? 2. What do you think he meant when he said, “Who knows, perhaps there is a hidden blessing in this?” 3. When someone chooses to be thankful instead of critical, how does that affect the way they feel inside? 4. Let’s go around the circle and say something we are thankful about each person here. 5. How did you feel when people were saying nice things about you? 6. How did you feel when you were saying nice things about the rest of us? 7. What can we do to remind our family to “be thankful in all situations?” 1 Thess 5:18 says, “Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” Let’s say a prayer together as a family or small group and thank God right now.    Blueprint for Men is a Christ-centered, relationship-based men’s ministry that helps men lead and succeed in every area of life.  Website: : Empower Men to Win by being a Life Coach - Daily at 7 AM ET on zoom. : Men's Small Group Book to Build Strong Morning Habits . Everyone agrees that life is full of suffering, but most men whine about its unfairness instead of discovering the secret to enduring the struggle. In this podcast, you will see how the sixth principle of discipleship gives you stamina in the suffering.

There is no commitment without sacrifice and no adventure without commitment. When we ask and receive a fresh baptism of the Holy Spirit we are telling God that we are all in and ready for an adventure. If your Christian walk is boring then it's time for you to step into the fourth principle of discipleship: receiving a fresh baptism of the Holy Spirit.

View Details

The third principle of discipleship is to take your time with Jesus. Make sure that when you are praying and reading the Bible you spend unrushed time in His presence. When we take the time to be still, to listen, to really focus we will discover a whole new level of peace and joy.

View Details

Principle 2 of Discipleship is to honor Jesus as Lord. That means we surrender all that we have, all that we are, and our attitudes to the loving influence of Jesus. This is hard, but the results are life-changing.

View Details

The first principle of discipleship is to come to Jesus just as we are. All too often Christians feel that we need to get our act together before we come to Jesus, but Matthew 11:28-30 says the opposite. The only way we can ever be clean is to come to Jesus just as we are.

Satan tempts men to say, "If I can’t do it and I can’t get God to do it, then I’ll turn somewhere else." The lie many men believe is, "There is another source of blessing other than God." The truth is that God is the only Source of true blessings. Everything else has strings attached to a curse.

A long time ago in a land far away Jesus braced himself against a strong gust of wind. Standing high on the temple roof, Jesus heard the noise of a market. He looked down into the holy courtyard and saw sheep pens, money-changing tables, and long lines of customers. Men haggled and argued, but no one prayed or worshipped. Soon, Jesus would step into that greedy world and clean house, but that challenge was for another time. Today had enough trouble of its own.  Jesus turned his head and looked into the eyes of Satan. He knew the battle wasn’t over, and he waited for satan to make the first move.  “It’s beautiful, isn’t it?” satan began. “This temple with its white stones and golden domes, it reminds me of our home in heaven.” Satan, still disguised as an angel of light, opened his arms and seemed to present the temple to Jesus. “I brought you here because your Father wants to see your faith.” Satan’s face melted into a loving smile at the mention of the Father. “He is so proud of you, but He is concerned that your humanity isn’t strong enough for the struggle. That’s why you are here. It’s time to show your Father how strong your trust in Him really is.” Satan bowed his head reverently and began to quote the scripture, but he didn’t just say the words. He sang. It was the ancient song of Moses, composed by the prophet himself after his experience during the dedication of the tabernacle in the desert. Satan’s strong voice took the song to a magical place as he closed his eyes and remembered the many songs he had sung next to the great throne. His voice was able to sing multiple parts all at once and the blend of the harmony and melody touched Jesus’ heart. It was beautiful. But Satan didn’t sing the whole song, no it was too dangerous to sing about dwelling in the shadow of the Most High and treading upon snakes. Satan carefully chose only part of one elegant verse.  “For He will command his angels concerning you, to guard you in all of your ways. They will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.”  Satan held the last note and then let it slip away.  “Now,” he whispered, “If you are the Son of god, Jump and the holy angels will save you.” The devil hoped that Jesus would get carried away with the emotional music, but even if the song didn’t inspire him, the verse was a powerful argument. After all, didn’t it promise that the angels would save him? Satan opened his eyes and looked at Jesus who stood firmly on the ledge. He smiled. The temptation was brilliant. This is religion, he thought, People trying to control their gods because they didn’t trust them.  Jesus’ feet didn’t budge. He was praying again. His lips moved but no words came out. Satan waited impatiently, trying to read the lips. Then he saw three words that he hated, “God’s got this.” Then Jesus opened his eyes and quoted another verse that Moses wrote. “It is written, Do not put the Lord your God to the test. I will not test my Father’s love. I choose to trust Him.” Then Jesus began to hum the rest of the song, and satan knew the words to the melody. “He will call upon me, and I will answer him. I will be with him in trouble…”  Satan’s smile melted into a sneer. First Jesus refused to take the power and do it himself. Now He refused to force God’s hand through religion. Fine, satan thought. No more subtlety. I’ll pull out all the stops. The angel snapped his fingers and the two disappeared from the temple roof.  Score? Jesus two. Satan zero. When satan quoted a bible verse on the temple he was tempting Jesus to show his distrust in the Father by trying to control Him. Quote a promise, make a rash decision, and then make God rush to the rescue. This is the pattern of every false religion. Humans can force the gods to bless them through sacrifice. It’s divine manipulation.  History is full of examples of holy men promising eternity in heaven and blessings on earth if the penitent would just give more money to the church, buy an indulgence, join the crusade, say a special set of prayers, go on a pilgrimage, or obey the rules of their religion.  The message is simple. God doesn’t really love you. He doesn’t care about your heart. He wants your behavior. He’s content with outward compliance. So get in line, behave like a good little Christian or Muslim or Pagan, and once you have been good enough long enough or once you have suffered enough long enough or once you have paid enough long enough then the blessings will come.  It’s classic and almost universal, and every single one of these false religions puts God to the test.    Will God respond the way I want, if I...   If I pay tithe, will my bank account grow? If I eat vegan, will I be cancer free? If I make my kids come to church, will they always be Christians? If I quit porn, will my wife have more sex with me? If I do the right thing at work, will I get the promotion? If I go to church every weekend, volunteer as decon or lead a bible study or do enough good, then will God bless me like I want Him to? If I stop drinking, gambling, cursing, stealing, gossipping, lusting, stop being bad, then will God stop punishing me? False religion teaches us that we can control God. They make God the puppet and promise us that their rituals, their rules, their beliefs are the strings that control the Almighty. They arrogantly teach us that we can make God do what we want Him to do.  If I say the right prayer, then He has to let me into heaven. If I claim the right promise, then He has to answer it the way I want. If I am part of the right church and obey their rules, then my eternal salvation is assured.  While this false religion promises eternal life and peace and joy, it only delivers stress. What if I have the wrong set of rules, say the wrong words, don’t offer the right sacrifice, what if my goodness isn’t good enough? Then will God refuse to answer me, bless me, save me? That’s why so many good Christians live lives of quiet desperation and stress. They can’t trust in God bc they believe their actions control His actions. This is also why so many turn away from the church. They can’t respect a God that can be so easily manipulated and controlled. This deception has tumbled the world into chaos and confusion.  But in all this unholy control and divine manipulation, Jesus’ clear voice rings out.  “You shall not test the Lord your God.” Don’t make God jump through hoops. Don’t try to force His hand with religious rituals and sacred words. Don’t show your faith by jumping off the roof so that God will have to catch you.  Let go, Jesus says. Let go of your control, of your desires, of your preconceived ideas of how your life should be and let God be God. Say in your heart, in your actions, in your attitudes, “God’s got this.”    Jesus demolished the puppet analogy of controlling God and instead used the metaphor of food to explain our true relationship with God. As men, we love food, so Jesus knew how to take a complex spiritual truth and break it down for us. Jesus said, “My food is to do the will of Him who sent me and to finish his work.” He was saying, “I get my energy from putting God into me and letting Him direct my steps.” In John 5:30, Jesus said, “For I seek not to please myself but Him who sent me.” Jesus experienced so much peace because He chose to follow the Father, rather than try to control Him. He chose to trust.    Jesus got his orders from His father, and it was his highest pleasure to obey. It was His fuel, his food, his passion.    When we try to control God, it shows that we don’t fully trust in Him. We think we know better than Him. We don’t fully believe that what God wants is best for us. It’s because we don’t fully know the Father. False religions are all about the rule and rewards, but they skip the best part, the relationship.    That’s why Jesus came to earth, to save us, to free us from the idea that we have to be in control, and to show us that we can trust in the Father. For when we truly see the Father we will let go of the reins and trust.  Our religion will become relaxing.    Right now I am almost done with my first round of the Morning Summit. It’s a 13 week small group book that helps men build solid morning habits. We drink water, exercise, read our Bible, and think about how we can bless others. It’s a great tool and it has helped me focus my mornings on God.    But lately, it has become a burden. I find myself rushing through the tasks, trying to get all my checkmarks. I ride my indoor cycle bike and read my Bible at the same time to be efficient. All the things I’m doing to improve my life are stealing the joy out of my life.    I was talking to a mentor about this, and they pointed out that the Morning Summit is supposed to be a blessing. That is supposed to point me to Jesus. They challenged me to rethink my morning routine and see it as a tool, not a check-list.    In a way, I was doing all these good things for God, hoping that He would see my faithfulness and bless me, but I was missing the point.    If I do the right habits with the right mindset, then I am already blessed. But if I’m doing the right things with a heart that is more concerned with check marks and control, then I miss out on all the blessings.    This doesn’t mean I’m going to stop all the morning summit habits, but it does mean that I need a mental reset. I need to follow the routine because I love God, not because I’m hoping God will love me back. It’s such an easy trap to fall into.     Men, we must understand that true religion is about the heart. That’s why Jesus said I desire mercy not sacrifice. I desire love not performed rituals.   God’s desire for you is that you would choose to trust Him and from that trust obedience would naturally flow. Then as we grow to trust God more and more, we realize that God’s way is better than our way, so we stop trying to convince God to act and start believing that He will. Instead of begging for blessings, we will thank God before they arrive. Instead of sacrificing to earn God’s favor, we will sacrifice to give God glory. Instead of worshipping a god we can control, we will let go and Let God be God.    And when the bills come, when the car won’t start, when the kids are sick, when our wives are mad, when bank account is low, or our strength is ebbing away, we will be able to look up, smile in faith, and say, “God’s got this.”

A long time ago, in a desert far away Jesus winced in pain as He stared at a magnificent angel. Satan, disguised as a mighty being of light stood before Jesus exuding raw power and bold confidence. Jesus, who hadn’t eaten in 40 days, tottered on weak legs. His vision blurred, and His stomach grumbled.    Satan glanced at Jesus’ belly and grinned. “You’re hungry.” Then the angel stooped down, picked up a smooth stone and rolled in his powerful hand. Satan spoke. “All the angels and I were there when you created this planet. I remember the awesome power of your words. You spoke and created light. Your words were so powerful.”   Satan looked at Jesus and tossed him the stone. Jesus caught it but didn’t break eye contact.    Satan continued, “You will need that power to accomplish your mission. So before you begin your ministry, all of heaven needs to know that you have the ability to take care of yourself, to save yourself.”    Jesus didn’t speak. His face was calm, his eyes were bold.    Satan couldn’t tell if his disguise had worked, so he pointed to the rock still in Jesus’ hands. “You haven’t performed a miracle or shown a sign of your true nature for thirty years. It’s time to speak again, to create again. If you are the Son of God, turn that stone into bread.”    Satan had prepared for this very moment for centuries. He had strategized every word, every gesture, every pause for the most powerful effect. And now he waited for the perfect few seconds and then pounced, “Do it, and prove to the Universe that you truly are the Son of God.”   Jesus, weak and emaciated from hunger and thirst, seemed like an easy mark in front of the brilliant angel. Yet, beneath the human frailty, Jesus had an invisible Source of strength. He had faith.   Jesus too, had been preparing for this moment, countless hours pouring over the Scriptures, meditating on their meanings, memorizing the sacred verses, hundreds of early mornings, up before dawn, walking, listening, and praying in the fields.    During all those hours, Jesus had learned one thing: God’s got this. No matter what, no matter the issue, no matter the struggle, no matter the need. God’s got this.    And at this very moment of his temptation, Jesus chose to trust.   Jesus chose to pray. And as he silently prayed, Jesus saw the trap.    Would Jesus trust in God to provide for His needs, or would He give in to doubt and try to save himself?    God called Him into the desert. For 40 days God had kept His body going without food or water. Could Jesus trust in God for just a little bit longer, or was it time to take matters into His own hands?   Jesus bowed his head and took a long, slow breath. God’s got this, He said silently. Then a Bible verse flashed into His mind.    Jesus looked up and stared into satan’s eyes, Jesus tossed the rock away. It cracked and rolled across the craggy ground. Jesus spoke. “It is written: Man does not live by bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.”   In one simple reply, Jesus demolished the doubts, the fears, and the lies of satan.    Jesus was saying, “I trust in my Father. I don’t have to prove my identity to you or his love for me. I don’t have to save myself. God will provide.”    Inside Satan boiled with rage. In one simple move, in one simple verse, Jesus had put him in checkmate. He had hoped that Jesus would argue and try to reason with him as so many other humans had done. But Jesus sidestepped the debate and went straight to the root: God’s character. Jesus declared that God was good and worthy of His trust, even if he was starving.    Satan swallowed his anger and smiled. He must maintain his disguise as an angel. His next temptation was even more sinister, he would trick Jesus through religion. Satan looked up towards heaven, nodded and said, “Now the Father wants me to take you to the temple. It’s time to prove your faith.”   Then satan snapped his fingers, and suddenly both of them disappeared. The desert was empty, and the rock still lay on the ground.  Satan’s first temptation failed to work with the greatest Man who ever lived, but it has been quite successful with the rest of us men.    The message is loud and clear, “You can’t trust in God. You have to save yourself. You are responsible for the outcome.”   As humans, we are all responsible for certain areas: our emotions, our thoughts, our attitudes, our actions. But as humans, we are not responsible for the end results, for the outcomes.   That is God’s responsibility.    When we get these two roles mixed up, we fall into the traps of pride, anxiety, greed, or depression.   When we struggle with one of these negative choices, we need to step back and see if we are taking God’s place and trying to control the outcomes.  God does a much better job at saving and solving than we do.    Shadrack, Meshack, and Abednego understood this. On the majestic plain of Dura, a golden statue shone in the morning sun. Standing over 90 feet tall and glittering with gold, this idol held the promise of life and death. Life for everyone who obeyed the king’s command to worship, and death for anyone who dared to defy his orders.  Yet when the music played, when thousands fell to their knees, three men remained standing. They could feel the pressure to conform, they knew the rewards for obedience, they could see the black smoke rising from the furnace. But still they stood.  Rough hands grabbed them and dragged them before the king. When given another chance, one of the men boldly spoke, “We will only worship the one true God, and He can save us from your fire, but even if He doesn’t, we will never bow down to your idol.”   Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego took responsibility for their actions, but they left the outcome in God’s hands. Faith lets go of the outcome and trusts in God’s wisdom, God’s timing, and God’s purpose.    Satan tempts men when he distracts us with problems, with temptations, with deadlines, with bills, with demanding people, as as we take our eyes off Jesus, we forget His promises, His loving character.   We forget “Seek first the kingdom of God and all these things will be added to you,” Matthew 6:33. We forget “The righteous person may have many troubles, but the LORD delivers him from them all,” Psalm 34:19. We forget “I am with you always, even till the end of the world,” Matthew 28:30. We forget that God’s got this.    Instead, we hear the message of the world, “You’re on your own. So Get ‘er done. Grit your teeth and push hard. It’s a dog-eat-dog world. Survival of the fittest. You are the master of your fate, the captain of your soul. You are a man. It’s all up to you.” When we swallow this poisonous philosophy, our thinking becomes clouded and we begin to think, “I’ve got this.”   And so many men step out of a life of faith and trust and into a life of strain and stress. We compete. We complicate. We compromise.       We strap on the weight of the world and chase success, acceptance, wealth, worth.    All the while not knowing that we are falling for the first temptation. Will we trust in God to save us or will we try to save ourselves?    We forget that because three men of faith chose to trust, Shadrach, Meshack, and Abednego not only survived the furnace, but they walked with God in the fire.    Jesus is the Blueprint for Men, and in his first temptation of the wilderness, Jesus shows us how to conquer. He used one simple Bible verse, a verse a child could memorize, a verse that reminds us that God’s got this.   Before the battle, Jesus spent time in the Word. He read it, meditated on it, memorized it. He ate it, ingested it, made it a part of his soul, and when he needed the strength, the clarity, and power of God’s word, it was there.    That is why our daily habits are so important. That’s why our spiritual disciplines are vital. These actions don’t save us or earn God’s love, but they do equip us, they prepare us for battle, they build our faith in God’s goodness.   And when our day in the desert comes, when all our strength is gone and satan is standing in front of us, when he fills our minds with doubt and our hearts with fear, when he says that we are on our own and that God won’t save us, we will bow our heads and whisper like Jesus, God’s got this. And the perfect verse will come to mind.   Then we will stand straight, shoulders back, chin held high. We will look evil right in the eye. And we will speak words of power.   We will say, “It is written….”   And like Jesus, we will be victorious.    God Bless.

Episode 4: The Path to Power Luke 4   A long time ago, in a land far away Jesus turned to face the desert. He squinted his soft brown eyes and shielded his face with a hand as he peered into the wasteland. He licked his parched lips as his stomach growled. His vision blurred, and Jesus shook his head and blinked hard.    40 days, he thought. I’ve been out here in the desert for 40 days.    Jesus remembered the cool, refreshing waters of the Jordan river. The strong hands of John as he lowered him into the water. The voice of the Father that had boomed over the crowd. The shining dove. Then the Spirit’s call to come to the desert.    Jesus knew His time in the wilderness would solidify his heart and mind. It would connect Him even closer to His Father, but He also knew that the battle would come. They always come after the spiritual mountaintop experience.   It had been forty days of deep communion with His Father. Forty days of little sleep, no food, no water, just an indescribable intense spiritual experience.   Now it was fading. Now the hunger was growing. Now Jesus felt his human weakness like he had never felt it before.    Jesus heard footsteps and knew it was time. He grimaced in pain as he stood to face the enemy.   Hours later, Jesus’ voice boldly spoke, “It is written, You shall not put the Lord your God to the test.”    The arch-angle of darkness shook with rage. His powerful fists clenched in hatred.    “This isn’t over,” satan growled as he turned away.   Jesus’ last bit of strength kept him on his feet until the devil had disappeared, then He collapsed.    “Thank you, Father,” he breathed.   Luke 4:14 says that after the temptations in the wilderness, “Jesus returned to Galilee in the power of the Holy Spirit…”   Luke 4:1 says “Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, was led by the Spirit into the desert.”   Jesus begins His journey full of the Spirit and after the 40 days of fasting, the epic battle with satan, He emerges with the POWER of the Spirit.    Jesus grew through the temptation experience and came out more powerful than when He started.    says, “We rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame.”   The principle of Growth starts with suffering which leads to endurance which leads to character which leads to hope which leads to no shame and no disappointment.   James 1:2-3 “Consider it pure joy whenever you face trials bc you know the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work that you may be mature and complete.    God’s will for men is for them to be full of Holy Spirit: fruits: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.   He knows we will grow through trials. God will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear, but He will provide a way of escape. It’s like having a personal trainer at the gym. They are always there, pushing us hard but never to the point of breaking or injury.   We will emerge from battle with power. The power to preach the good news, heal the brokenhearted, proclaim liberty to the captives, to bust into satan’s dungeons and set his prisoners free.    The sins of our society lay at the feet of men. Sex trafficking, pornography, prostitution is fueled by lustful men.  Abortions happen when men fail to take responsibility and protect their unborn children. Child abuse, domestic violence, teen suicides, eating disorders, gang violence, rape, violent crimes, and even riots in the streets all happen bc of the sins of men.    These issues are not social problems. They are male problems. They happen when men let evil conquer their hearts. These crimes must stop. And for that to happen Godly men need supernatural power to conquer these bastions of darkness    It’s not God’s will for you to become a good little man, an emasculated weakling who follows all the rules, tucks in your shirt, makes everyone happy, and never rocks the boat.    Jesus said, “Do you think I came to bring peace on earth? No, I tell you, but division.” Luke 12:51   There is no peace, no compromise, no unity with rape, trafficking of little boys and girls. These things are wrong and should make every man of honor angry. Evil is taunting us. Telling us to sit down and be quiet and get in line.    We must stand up. We must fight the good fight. But we can only do that after we are filled with the Holy Spirit. After we emerge from our battles with temptations. Then we will have power.    After the Sermon on Mount, the people were amazed because Jesus taught with authority, with power, not like the regular teachers of the law. Jesus has the power of the Holy Spirit.     Paul calls men out in 2 Tim 3:5 when he describes men who have the forms of godliness but don’t have its power.    It’s not about what’s on the outside: your works, your looks, your religiosity. It’s all about what’s on the inside: your heart, your soul, the power of God.    God’s will for you isn’t to live a plump life of comfort. No, He’s called you into the battle for the souls of your children, your wife, your friends, your community. He must train you. He must teach you to fight with the weapons of heaven: the sword of the spirit, the shield of faith. He must teach you to trust in Him even though the heavens may fall.    You have been called like Moses to step up and bring freedom. You have been called like David to charge the giant and defend your people. You have been called like Daniel to pray in the face of lions. You have been called...   But first, you must walk through the fires of temptation. So fill yourself with the Holy Spirit, follow His calling, invest time every morning listening to His voice while you read the Bible, meditate, and pray. Go to church and ask for God to fill you as you worship with fellow believers. Cut off the cords of the world and turn off the radio, put down the phone, and shut off the TV, and seek Him for when you seek Him with your whole heart, you will find Him.    And when we are full of the Holy Spirit, when we have overcome the devil and learned to trust God in our wilderness experience, then we will do greater things than the apostles at Pentecost. We will do greater things than Jesus just as He promised in John 14:12.    The world hasn’t seen an army of men filled with the holy spirit in a very long time. We have plenty of stories of lone rangers of faith, men who maybe had a sidekick, and these brave heroes started Reformations, toppled kingdoms, and turned the world upside down. But imagine what could happen when we, as men of faith, unite with each other and filled with the power of the holy spirit turn as one to face the enemy.    I’ll tell you what would happen, chains will break, hearts will be set free, truth will emerge, the very gates of hell will tremble and there will be a battle so epic that it will bring the world to its end.    And when the battle is over when truth has prevailed when love wins, We, the men of faith, the men who have emerged from the wilderness, who have charged into the final battle filled with God’s power, the men who stand at the edge of eternity, we will look into the eyes of Jesus face to face and we will hear him say, “Well done, my good and faithful friend. Well done.”   This is your destiny. Don’t miss it.

All men face storms in their lives. Jesus shows us the power of our words in the middle of our struggles. He spoke to the storm and created peace. We cannot control the weather like Jesus, but we are equipped to control our thoughts, emotions, and reactions. Our words are the secret to tapping into the calm during the chaos. Like Jesus, men can speak words of life, and like Jesus, men can bring peace to the storm.
