This show is produced by the disabled community and showcases special guests and artists. The focus is for a positive outlook on programs and events for the entire community. Originally called "The Self Advocates", from Co-Op Radio CFRO, the show began in the 1990s We showcase BC Self Advocates with lots of interviews from people with special needs. Tune in for interesting music, interviews and some fun times. This program is syndicated with the NCRA (National Community and Campus Radio Association) across BC and across Canada. Emily Gillespie & I’m the founder of Accessibility, Advocacy & Art. I’m a person with multiple disabilities, including mental illness, a learning disability and chronic pain. I have experienced structural and attitudinal barriers my entire life. I am committed to working from a disability justice, anti-oppression and intersectional framework.
I have a Master’s Degree in Critical Disability Studies and have been working in the accessibility field for over 6 years. I have experience working with non-profits at the local, national and international level as a research assistant and project manager. I have worked at 3 post-secondary schools, focusing on access for students with disabilities. I am a published author, and enjoy using fiction as another tool to invite conversations about social justice and disability.

Out of over 91 countries travelled Delbert was born in Montreal, Canada and was raised in Guyana, South America. For nine challenging years, he met with many family, friends and associates whom he still considers friends and family today.

During his mid-twenties Delbert received his diploma in Justice Administration from Mount Royal University while simultaneously working as a foster parent. This lead to working as a youth worker, a special needs worker and a family development worker in Western Canada for over 25 years. During those years, he realized that friendship is about giving and taking (“from within and without”) and creating a balanced, stable life.
