Mother Moon is an original poem written and read by author Ariana R Cherry. It is a spoken word poetry reading with piano accompaniment which Ariana also wrote and played herself. MOTHER MOON POEMWe wait for the moon to riseto awaken our tired eyes. She leads us through the unseen darkness,as we wait for the warm light to materialize. The nighttime moon gives us hope, and protects us from nightmares and dreams. She's so much more than the image thatwe see in our favorite telescope. The moon lights up the dark nighttime sky,and means more than the sciencethat we can see with our own naked eye. She's our protector in times of uncertaintyand our compass when we can't find our way. The moon is everlasting, shining on eternally. There seems to be so much that is raging through our nation and planet, and it is affecting the lives of our people everywhere... Who is responsible for the sickness and violence that is traveling throughout the world?

WHO?

"Our once blessed nation now lays

upon the cross being crucified…

But who is carrying the blood on their hands?"

Our entire earthly planet is being infected

with a contagious virus that disables our ability

to breathe, speak and separates us from

those that we love…

"But who unleashed the horror that

spreads rapidly throughout our planet?"

The all too malicious violence that

enrages our country

has engaged the faucet of tears to run

from our sorrowful eyes.

Our silent mouths open in shock

and utter despair,

disabling us to speak, making it difficult

to catch our breath.

"Missing You at Christmas" Spoken Word Poetry is dedicated to anyone who is missing someone at Christmas this year.

"This year, the air is a little different,

even though the Christmas lights still shine just as bright

The year has been tough, filled with struggles, and maybe, not even laughing as much.

It is true, that this Christmas, may feel a bit strange without you,

But I’ll do my best and stay strong, and try not to be blue.

This year, all I can think of are the distant heartfelt memories,

as they play like an old record on repeat… "

Scars from life’s misfortunes written

Tune into the poetry reading, "Behind Their Eyes," read by Poet, Ariana R Cherry...

"We’ve been placed into a strange new world,

Where mouths and noses are covered,

Staying hidden and protected from an invisible sickness,

That brings on cold isolation.

For now, all we see are pairs of unfamiliar eyes in the places we go.

In this new society, we’ve become strangers

And potential threats, even to the people we know..."

To You, Dearest Love

__________________________

My dearest love,

oh thou, my heart

has ached for you

a million years.

Sitting under a bright kindred moonlight,

my thoughts fall back to your tender touch.

I lay here, counting every single twinkling star

up in the clear night sky,

bathing in amorous memories that I wear

upon thy sleeve.

Have you ever felt like an outcast?  There are those of us that feel "different" compared with others- those of us that walk to a different beat of the drum....

"I’d rather not say that I am insane,

My mind will not comprehend such a thing,

Nor would appreciate you to suggest so…

But it is absolute pain that erases the numbness..

Not a smile, laugh, frown, sadness…

Or your hand upon my knee…

It is blunt pain, that paints such a villainous smirk on me."

Awhile back, I spoke of a disturbing dream I had about an infected zombie race…No, I didn’t watch any scary movies, watch The Walking Dead or read any scary books….The dream felt quite real and I could experience sight, smell and sounds…..yet again, I have a pretty good imagination……I was told I should write about this dream…as it stayed with me for a couple days. And so, the poem, "Life After the Zombie Apocalypse was born."

October Awakens Poem read by author, Ariana R Cherry....

*"An October wind brushes airily on my pale face with unspoken wilderness,

The mystery has reawakened.

The bleak sky of dancing cumulus clouds overhead is an imaginative dreams-cape

that plays the strings of my heavy heart

in this October scene. .."*
