As a member of the 82nd Airborne Division, I was deployed to Iraq in 2003. During my deployment I wrote a journal. I will be reading from my journal and reflecting on the person I was then and how those experiences have shaped the person I have become.
My deployment to Iraq has just started! I'm feeling nervous, anxious, and a bit scared. I see new places, meet new people and experience the effects of war for the first time.
