Borderline Nosy is a show hosted by Dr. Kofi Afari, an everyday guy trying to make the best of his 30's by getting deep and meaningful with his friends and family.
It's a show unpacking topics that seem to get more complicated with age and yet ever more essential to get right. Kofi speaks to people in his circle of influence with the hope that some listeners may realise they are not alone in their journey while also exposing others to perspectives they may never have encountered before.

Fabien is an emergency medicine physician in the south of France and Fatima is a 3rd year medical student at the University of Paris. Today we chat with Dr. Hephzibah Okyere-Mensah, a public health physician in Kumasi Ghana and get a glimpse of life as a doctor in this West African country. Becoming a doctor is complicated and tiring, wherever you're from. Though it can be hugely rewarding as well, it is important to be mentally prepared for the journey ahead.
Enter Borderline Nosy Season 2.
Take a trip around the world, listening to doctors talk about how to got through the medical process in their countries. Whether you're just curious about what your local family doctor might have gone through or you're considering this life for yourself...you'll probably see that though the steps are a bit different, there are many shared experiences and sentiments regard of where you work or train. And a lot of the advice given to aspiring doctors and the people who love them transcends borders.

Two becoming one...it's no joke. I think we as a generation are heading back towards the original plan for marriage. For 2 people to live a life better than what could be done apart. After I came to terms with the fact that I too am a millennial, I realised that this is the reality for many of us out there in the work field. Life is complicated. The different facets of life can never really be placed in a vacuum but end up intertwined one way or another. The careers we end up in are often influenced by issues that really have no place in these decisions and it's important to dismantle them before we can put it all back together.
Sara talks about the path she took to becoming a data scientist for the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services in Canada and the various experiences in her life, both lived and observed, that got her there.

Chapter 2: Career
They call it a "career path", and for good reason. It's a path that isn't always straightforward, sometimes full of unwanted surprises and sometimes I wish I could just ask Siri to point me in the right direction!
Our careers are a big part of who we are. When you meet someone new, the order of questions tends to be 1. What's your name? 2. What do you do? So it is important to make educated and wise decisions regarding these paths.
I talk a little bit about my journey in the medical field and shine some insight on some of the things I went through to get to where I am today. Then we chat with my good friend Michael who had started on the same path as myself, only to veer off into something different, unexpected and perfectly suited for him. The options are plentiful, some of them you have to learn about, others you have to make for yourself.

Medicine is one of those fields that I think this mindset is very essential. Sally, Bennie and Jessica grew up as black girls in a small Italian town and could have let their experiences keep them as narrow-minded as the people around them. Chapter 1: Identity Unless you live under a rock, there will always be people or things that influence who you end up becoming (Even the Castaway was influenced by Wilson to some extent). The good thing is as we get older, we can hopefully develop a better filter and actively avoid things that keep us from growing. As a teenager, I definitely didn't appreciate the positive influence my parents had on me and only realised later how much of who they are has moulded who I am now (the good and the bad haha). Today my mom talks about her journey from glory to glory and how hardship, travel and survival made her the amazing woman she is today.
