It's been a full year of recording and releasing episodes, which was the target I set when first launching 12 months ago,

So to wrap things up and close this chapter,

I wanted to record a special episode to reflect on the big lessons and learnings from the last year.

Thank you to everyone who has listened/watched, and supported from day one, it means a lot and I really appreciate it!

I hope you've enjoyed, and more important got some value from the stuff I've shared that can benefit you, and those around you.

Enjoy, and all the best

Today's episode of the podcast is a special one, as I had the pleasure of being joined by my twin brother Lee!

Not only is he my twin brother and best mate - he's also the Need to Lead podcast's number one fan lol

And as we move towards the end of this chapter, I wanted to bring him on to chat about his own leadership experiences

What influenced him growing up, the challenges that have helped shape who he is today

And what leadership advice he'd give to a younger Lee, or anyone else who's listening!

Big thank you to Lee for coming on

And I hope you enjoy listening, as much as I enjoyed making it.

All the best

This weeks episode of the Need to Lead podcast is dedicated to a legend in sports leadership

You've probably heard his name before, or seen some cool quotes from him - without really knowing what he done or why he's so well respected!

John Wooden was the head coach of the UCLA Bruins basketball team from 1948-1975.

During his tenure, he led the team to 12 NCAA championships in 10 years (including 7 in a row),

Including four undefeated 30-0 seasons, and finished his coaching career with a crazy 81% win record in over 1,000 games!

Aside from just making his team hard to beat, he was the kinda leader who built his people up to be better off the court too

Unfortunately he died a few years back, but his teachings and legacy lives on.

A lot of the stuff covered in here comes from the book 'Wooden on Leadership' so if you like this episode, definitely check the book out.

Enjoy, hope it helps

This weeks episode of the Need to Lead podcast is all about how we reward people for doing the wrong things

^yep, you read that right^

It doesn't make sense, I know

But so much of the things you do as a leader can actually promote more of the 'wrong' actions in your people

Instead of inspiring them to do the 'right' things

And it's not just in business either...

In your relationship, with children, friends and family...

You might be rewarding what's wrong and punishing what's right - without even realising it!

Enjoy the episode, hope it helps,

This week's episode of the Need to Lead Podcast is all about strengths and weaknesses

I'm sure you're familiar with the whole idea of knowing your strengths and playing to them, while identifying your weakness and minimising them

And 100%, and important part of progress and success will depend on recognising the areas that you are naturally 'great'

(Like Messi dribbling a ball - unbelievable)

BUT an important thing to keep in mind is that your strengths and weaknesses are not static - they can change based on the context you're in

Hope this episode helps, and feel free to share it with anyone you think can benefit from it!

There are two essential traits in successful people that you rarely hear about,But will nearly always find if you look hard enough -Optimism, and paranoia.A bit of optimism that says 'It's all gonna work out, we need to keep going'Coupled with a dose of paranoia that doesn't let you rest on your laurels and get complacent. It's an interesting combo, but one that has driven so many of the successful people you look up to today!Hope this helps,Adam.

This weeks episode is a special one!

If you haven't been following @molloytwinsfitness, than this will be news to you

But me and Lee (my twin brother) have just released our first book together ,

"Better than Before - 5 Rules for Personal Greatness"

We wanted to create something that can help you, no matter what stage of your journey you're at, to progress towards your goals and dreams,

With a framework for success we have learned over years of lots of trial, and even more error!

In this episode I run through what inspired us to write the book in the first place,

Who it's for,

What it's all about

And what we hope you'll take away from reading it.

Enjoy, and hope it helps!

"No matter how good you get, you can always get better - that's the exciting part"

  • Tiger Woods

It might sound like a contradiciton

But the best/worst part of personal growth, learning and development

Is the fact that there's no 'End'

You never reach a point where you've learned everything, know it all, and have no potential to be better

And while that can be inspiring and motivating

At some times it can also get overwhelming, and make you feel like there's no point in carrying on climbing a mountain that has no peak

That's normal, and part of the process

In this episode we cover how that plays out in trying to achieve your goals, and what you can do about it

Aswell as

How unrealistic expectations kill your dreams

Why you're not as "bad" or "behind" as you think, even compared to some of the all time greats

What you can do to use every situation in life to make you even better than you were before (no matter how bad it gets)

And plenty more

I hope it helps, and feel free to share with anyone you think would get value from hearing this

Until next time, all the best

I'm not one for clickbait-titles and making exaggerations to make stuff sound more important or interesting than it needs to be

So trust me when I say

That this one trait can set you apart from everybody else

And help you make more progress in the next 6 months

Than you have in the last 6 years

The World is full of people with big goals, fancy dreams, and idyllic fantasies...

That never become anymore than things they talk about with their mates or write in their journal and hope to 'manifest'

This one thing will help make sure you don't get stuck in that circle

And be someone who makes your dreams a reality, whilst leading those around you to do the same.

Whether you want to be a leader for yourself...

....Your business....

.... Your family.....

....Your team....

You need to know this.

This episode was inspired by a book I read, titled 'The Score Takes Care of Itself'

In it, Bill Walsh (former head coach of the San Francisco 49ers) shares his philosophy on leadership, and how he took the 49ers from

The WORST team in the league

to

Superbowl Champions

In just 3 years

There's so much wisdom in here that you can take and apply to your goals, no matter how big or small they are

Bill Walsh used it in his 10 year span as head coach to win 3 Superbowls in 10 years, and transform the 49ers from the laughing stock of the league

To the most dominant franchise of the 80's

You'll be able to see clearly why it worked so well

AND

How it can work for you too

This weeks episode of the Need to Lead Podcast

Is a live stream me and my twin brother Lee done with the fine folks of the High Performance Mind Coaching Program

The program is ran and led by a good friend of ours, Simon Gwilliam

And he asked us to come in and speak to his crew on all sorts of things around performance, behaviour, and getting the best out of yourself!

Some of the topics we covered on this include

Are me and Lee identical twins? (You may be surprised by this…)

How to get out of the mindset of thinking ‘I’ll be happy WHEN I achieve this thing’ (and how it could actually be holding you back from success)

Lee’s own transformation and he lessons he learned along the way….

And plenty more!

Enjoy, hope it helps

You have probably heard the quote "easy choices, hard life. Hard choices, easy life"

Reality is, the decisions that seem easy in the moment

End up creating even more work for you down the line

(Think about the time in college you skipped doing your assignment to go out with your mates...

and then had to pull an all nighter a few days later to get it done before the deadline)

You make decisions every single day, and chances are a lot of them are actually working against you

But by doing this ONE thing, before taking any actions,

You can make sure you're moving in the right direction towards your goals.

Hope this helps, and enjoy the episode!

One of the most challenging parts of being a leader is giving feedback/criticism to the people around you.

Despite your best intentions, they often end up in arguments, name-calling matches, and weaken the relationship between you and the person you were trying to help.

If you hate these conversations, or feel they never work out the way you want - don't worry, you're not alone! But don't worry....

The good news is, with a couple of simple tweaks in how you deliver the message, these conversations can turn from trauma (for you and the other person) into transformation.

Enjoy, hope this helps,

Wanna know an interesting fact about 'successful' people?

For the most part, they're just like you

The same worries, fears, uncertainties

Doubts and concerns

The difference?

They don't let that discomfort stop them from taking action

^read that again^

Here's how you can do the same

Hope it helps

"It's all about the long term"

Jeff Bezos' famous words to Amazon shareholders, in a letter he wrote to them in 1997

It's a philosophy he built the company around

And a mindset so many high achievers have embodied on their way to success

You can use it too.

One of the biggest reasons people fail nowadays is actually pretty straight forward

They take the wrong approach

They play 'stupid games', and when you do that

As Naval Ravikant says

'you win stupid prizes'

This episode of the podcast will show you WHY taking a long term mindset can be the difference maker between those who succeed, and those who fail

(so you can make sure you're on the right side of that equation)

Hope it helps,

What's the riskiest thing you've ever done?

Quit your job to start a business...

Packed your stuff and moved away....

Asked someone out on a date...

Whatever it is, I guarantee two things:

1) Before doing it, you felt like it was the scariest thing every

2) After doing it, you realised it wasn't as bad as you thought it would be

Without taking risks, there's no real progress

You stay stuck, in the same cycle, hoping something will magically fall into your lap

(Spoiler alert - it won't!)

Now, I'm not saying you have to be rash, and go, quit your job, leave your partner, and head to the airport to take the next flight out...

But you have to be willing to step into the uncomfortable, and push yourself a little

In this episode, you're gonna hear:

  • What I learned from Jim Carrey about failure, and taking risks to do what you really want in life
  • How sometimes, the riskiest thing you can do is staying where you are
  • Jeff Bezos's framework for making tough decisions (personal favourite of mine)

Remember, you're only ever one decision away from a completely different life for you and your family.

Bet on yourself.

Hope this helps!

When you hear the word 'CEO' what comes to mind?

Steve Jobs maybe....

Fancy suits and cars...

Stress, worry, sleepless nights...

There can be mixed ideas on what a CEO is/does

(you can thank Netflix and Instagram for that...lol)

But at it's core, a CEO is responsible for making success happen

Unfortunately, for lotsa people

They ain't the CEO's of their own lives

They are passive participants, hoping for something to fall in their lap that'll make them happy/fulfilled/rich

(spoiler alert - it ain't coming)

Richard Branson said a CEO only has to do 3 things

So in this episode, Im gonna share the exact steps you need to take

If you wanna become the CEO of 'Your Life'

And take back control.

As a Leader, it is always your responsibility.

Even if you didn't cause the problem, you have to take ownership of getting it solved.

"Opportunity lurks where responsibility has been abdicated" - Jordan Peterson.

If you truly want to be a leader, and set the direction for others to follow, you need to be willing to shoulder more than your share of the weight, and set the example for others to follow - stepping up to the plate to get stuff done, and make progress towards the bigger goal.

I hope this helps, and please share this episode with anyone you think it can help:)

Hello and welcome back to the podcast, where this week we are talking about Change - and what the 20% who success do differently to the rest.

Research suggests 70-80% of all change initiatives fail - regardless of what the change is, or the industry. So regardless of whether you wanna change your diet, improve your speaking skills, or become a better delegator - if you're a room with 9 other people looking to change something....

Only 2 will make it happen

And the other 8 will end up right back where you started

^I don't like those odds^

The good news in all of this, though, is that by understanding the 6 stages we go through when attempting to make a change, you can enhance the likelihood of you being one of the two 'lucky ones' who make it stick :)

Hope this helps, and feel free to share with anyone you think could get value from listening

Do you ever feel like there's not enough hours in the day, or days in the week, to get everything you wanna do.... done?

A never ending line of people, waiting to load even more stuff onto your plate

Time is your most precious resource, but most of it get's taken up helping others, fire-fighting, and doing work that, really, you shouldn't even be doing!

If that's you - chances are, you've got a boundaries issue

(Don't worry, it's not an STI, or new pandemic...lol)

And it can be fixed pretty quickly - using the stuff I share in todays episode

If you wanna be a high performer, and hit your goals - you need to make sure you set yourself up to succeed

And strong boundaries (that still allow others to feel valued and respected) are a crucial piece of that.

Hope it helps, and feel free to share with anyone you think would benefit from hearing this

This is the ONE question you need to ask yourself before making a tough decision.

Pondering a new career? Debating leaving a relationship or starting a business? Wanting to go back and do a course but feel you're too old, or it's too late?

In life, you are constantly met with new decisions to be made - and each decision has it's inherent opportunities and risks.

The key isn't just learning how to make a call - but instead learning how to make the right one for YOU.

This one question has fundamentally transformed how I go about making decisions in my life, and I am sure it will do the same for you.

Hope this helps,

Adam.

Hello and welcome back to another episode of the Need to Lead podcast. Today's episode is dedicated to all of the entrepreneurs out there - both current, and future!

Entrepreneurship is something I am really passionate about - I believe they are the backbone of societies, fuel progress and innovation, and are some of the most inspirational people out there! However, the reality is that being an entrepreneur is a tough gig - it can be lonely at times, and especially when times are tough and you feel like it's a series of never ending problems, it's easy to understand why most people who start their own business's don't stick around too long!

Having had my own experience as an entrepreneur from the age of 19, and working as a coach to business owners in multiple industries over the last 3 years, I have been fortunate to see first hand what separates those who 'make it', and how you can learn from them to set yourself up for success (regardless of the kind of business you want to run, or what industry you serve!).

Here are the 6 biggest mindset shifts entrepreneurs need to know, to launch, run and scale a successful business - that doesn't leave you tearing your hair out, laying awake stressed every night, or going grey in your 20's... lol

Hope it helps, and feel free to share with anyone you think can get value from hearing this.

This week on the Need to Lead podcast, we are joined by a very special guest - Aly Larkin!

Aly is a friend I met in a coaching course I done a few years back, and her journey from then until now has been incredible. Beginning in the fitness industry, coaching female clients to lose weight and keep it off for good (despite not being a personal trainer!), she progressed to become a life coach for female entrepreneurs, helping them run their business's from a place of 'love' instead of 'fear' (as she would say, although it sounds much cooler in her Scottish accent!)

I flew out to visit her in Brighton a couple of weeks back to catch up, drink coffee, and listen to all of her spiritual theories... lol. So we decided to take advantage of the time we had together and record a podcast episode.

This conversation touches on a lot of different areas - from masculine & feminine energy, why so many men (And women) are struggling and feeling stuck/lost in today's World, being a parent and raising young kids in today's complex world, and coaching your clients/team to help them perform at their best. So there is sure to be value for everyone. no matter what brings you here.

Aly also shares details of her new program that is launching this month - The Path - so be sure to connect with her on social media to find out more about that (her FB profile is linked below).

Enjoy, and hope this helps

This episode of the podcast is all about pursuing a life that matters to you - even if that means stepping outside the boundaries of what the people around you are doing.

As you grow, and evolve, it's normal that you begin to want different things from your life - whether that's changes in your career, your hobbies, your relationships.... all of these things are natural parts of evolution as a person - but most avoid them due to fear of stepping out of bounds and upsetting the balance of life around them.

In life, you have a responsibility to yourself (both as a leader, and a person) to pursue something that is meaningful and worthwhile to you. Sometimes, that means doing things that will cause others to doubt you, question your actions, or even criticise you.

Don't let that stop you.

Hope this helps,

Adam.

Hello everybody, and welcome back to this week's episode of the Need to Lead podcast.

As we are at the end of March, which is the end of the first quarter of 2023, this is the perfect time to complete a 'Quarterly Review' of your goals and targets for the year.

I know, sounds boring and corporate - but trust me, it's not! It's simple, only takes 30-60mins, and will set you up for a successful second quarter. I personally attribute a lot of the progress I have made over the last 2-3 years to following this process, so I want to share it with you to help skyrocket your own results.

The FOUR questions I like to use are:

  1. What Went Well?
  2. What Didn't Go So Well?
  3. What Did I Learn?
  4. What Am I Working Towards?

With a BONUS question I like to add in, which is:

  • What Does 'Success' in the Next Quarter Look Like for Me?

I can't encourage you enough to make an hour for yourself this week, go to the local coffee shop, grab a nice cappuccino, and give yourself the best possible start to Q2.

Remember, 'we don't learn from experience...we learn by reflecting on our experiences'

Simon is a top man in the personal development world, and it was a pleasure to come on and speak to his members about behaviour change, and leading yourself towards your goals.

We had some really cool questions to discuss, including where should you start if you're looking to make a change in life (without setting yourself up for failure from the get go), and what to do if you want to make a real change in your life - but the people around you don't want to get on board with it!

Enjoy, and hope it helps!

I got a great question from an Instagram Q&A a couple of weeks back

(Side note, follow me over on IG at @adammolloy_coaching)

"Who Do You Lead Other Than Yourself?".

It was such a great question, with far too many layers to unpack on an Instagram story - so today's podcast episode dives into it!

(Be prepared for lots of 'self leadership talk, hand movements, tea sipping, and understanding why your kids learn more from what you do than what you say)

Today is episode 21 of the podcast - which is a massive milestone in the life of any podcast (to find out why - check out the episode!)

It ties in beautifully with the theme for todays show, which is Mastering the Art of Showing Up. I heard a quote during the week that said "most people don't succeed because they don't stick around long enough to see their success" - which really hit home for me as a coach, seeing how so many people fail simply due to the fact that they give up before they can see the results from their efforts

This episode covers why showing up is so important, where people tend to go wrong, and most importantly - what you can do, in your own life, to help you master this uncommon act!

Hope it helps,

Adam.

This episode is all about how you can step to be a leader - even if you don't have a few fancy letters after your job title! The reality is that, at any given time, there is a finite number of 'leadership positions' available. But, even though you may not be formally recognised as a leader - you can still show up like one.

Not only will that empower you, increasing your confidence and value =- but it will also ensure that when those leadership positions do become available, you are the obvious choice for the role.

This episode of the podcast focuses on the 6 main blockers to high performance that hold people back from really achieving their goals!

Recently I done an episode that covered the habits you might want to adopt in order to fuel higher levels of performance from yourself. And whilst that's great - it's also true that you can get better, not only by adding 'new' things to your routine, but by removing some practices that don't actually serve you and your progress.

These 6 areas all come from either my own personal experience, or that from client's I have worked with over the previous years.

Welcome back to the 'Need to Lead' Podcast, where we discuss all things leadership related to help you get the best out of yourself, and those around you.

This episode marks the beginning of a new mini-series we will be running over the coming weeks, where we're gonna deep dive into the life of some of the World's most impactful leaders, so we can distill the principles behind their success and use it to help us perform better.

To kick off, I had to pick the big man himself - Sir Alex Ferguson. As a lifelong football and Manchester United fan, he's one of the first names that come to mind when I hear the word 'leader' - and his story does not disappoint when it comes to identifying what helps make teams successful in the long run! He was in charge for 26 years, winning 38 trophies in that time, and building the club into one of the most dominant sports team to ever exist.

I hope you enjoy listening to this as much asI enjoyed making it!

All the best,

Adam

Welcome to Episode 5 of the 'Need to Lead' Podcast, where we discuss all things leadership related to help you get the best out of yourself, and those around you!

This episode is part 1 of a deep dive into the World of Self Leadership - the foundational tenet of being a leader (and also my favourite one to speak about, read about, explore etc). This episode covers the 'mindset' of self leadership - how our childhood experiences can make us 'crappy self leaders', how shame/blame contribute to it, transactional analysis, and how to begin leading yourself from a better place by understanding yourself more.

The next episode in this two part series will cover the specific strategies of self leadership you can employ to get the best out of yourself, so keep an eye out for that!

Welcome to Episode 4 of the 'Need to Lead' Podcast, where we discuss all things leadership related to help you get the best out of yourself, and those around you!

This episode covers 5 of the main leadership lies I hear from people when it comes to their understanding of leadership, and what a leader should be.

My hope in this episode of the podcast is that it will help you to see how big of an impact leaders can have on the World, why the typical image we have of a 'leader' is false, and how you can better develop the leader inside of yourself.

This episode covers what Leadership IS. After the last episode, where we discussed what leader isn't, it only makes sense to go through what leadership really is about - and the two main forms of leadership we can step in to.

Welcome to Episode 2 of the 'Need to Lead' Podcast, where we discuss all things leadership related to help you get the best out of yourself, and those around you!

This episode covers what Leadership is NOT. Growing up, we have all been exposed to different 'leaders', and may have some preconceived ideas of what leadership looks like - which is often negative, toxic and untrue.

I share with you three common situations where there is an absence of true leadership, which I am sure you will be able to relate to.
