Often a monster movie comes with a level of suspension of disbelief. At times, that level can be asking too much from an audience. The movie SPRING, from film making duo Justin Benson and Aaron Moorehead, is not one of those movies. The horror included doesn't ask you to check your brain at the door, nor is it too subtle or vague. It is both quiet and visceral and accomplishes these tasks while telling a very human story.

Star Wars is known the world around. It's pervasive and it's iconic. The Busy Dads have watched the most recent entry into the Star Wars saga, THE LAST JEDI directed by Rian Johnson (Brick, Looper). We share a bottle of seltzer and discuss whether or not it's possible for a movie called STAR WARS to actually NOT be STAR WARS. We also talk about whether or not that really matters and how much are we going to try to NOT like something even in the face of floating, frozen people in space.

A little change in the pace of things seems appropriate right now. Even more appropriate right now is the Ray Bradbury short story There Will Come Soft Rains. I'm not sure why, but here we are. Listening to one of my favorite science fiction shorts read aloud in my own voice. I feel lucky today. Lucky that I do not live in the empty world this story depicts. Fortunate to know that we, as a race, can get to this precipice again.

Busy Daddy George recently attended Comic Con, as he does every year. This is a short tribute to walking through those front doors, into a haven of geekdom. How did it used to feel? First we lost Adam to the busy nature of the human world and now Kevin has taken a turn for the worse in his battle with the inevitable illnesses that come with being a father. So, George puts down his shotgun and shovel and picks up a microphone to record a quick episode by his lonesome.
