In 2016, a report by the Women and Equalities committee (UK) found that Muslim women face a triple ‘penalty’ of discrimination in accessing the workplace – on the basis of being a woman, from an ethnic minority background, and a Muslim. The findings of this report reflect the barriers that Muslim women face worldwide when seeking employment.
