The last four are emotions that can eat you alive, just like cancer. Through nourishment of mind, body, and spirit, you can heal yourself.
Michael will explore the following teaching from the symbolic perspective: “Jesus said: ‘From Adam until John the Baptist, there is among those who are born of women none higher than John the Baptist, so that his eyes will not be broken. But I have said that whoever among you becomes as a child shall know the Kingdom, and he shall become higher than John.’”
Michael will explore the following teaching from the symbolic perspective: “Jesus said: ‘They do not harvest grapes from thorns, nor do they gather figs from thistles; [for] they give no fruit. [A] good man brings forth good out of his treasure, an evil man brings forth evil things out of his evil treasure, which is in his heart, and speaks evil things. For out of the abundance of the heart he brings forth evil things.’”
Michael will explore the following teaching from the symbolic perspective: “Jesus says: ‘Become a passersby.’”
Michael will explore the following teaching from the symbolic perspective: “Jesus said: ‘A vine has been planted without the Father and, as it is not established, it will be pulled up by its roots and be destroyed.’”
Michael will explore the following teaching from the symbolic perspective: “Jesus said: ‘The Pharisees and the scribes have received the Keys of Knowledge, they have hidden them. They did not enter, and they did not let those [enter] who wished. But you, become wise as serpents and innocent as doves.’”
Michael will explore the following teaching from the symbolic perspective: “Jesus said: ‘Take no thought from morning until evening and from evening until morning for what you shall put on.’”

Michael will examine the following Teaching from the symbolic perspective: “Jesus said: ‘The mote that is in thy brother’s eye, thou seest; but the beam that is in thine eye, thou seest not. When thou casteth the beam out of thine eye, then thou wilt see clearly to cast the mote out of thy brother’s eye.’” Here is the teaching in the New Testament: “And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but perceivest not the beam that is in thine wn eye?” (Luke 6: 41)
Michael will examine the following teaching from the symbolic perspective: “Jesus said: ‘Love thy brother as thy soul, guard him as the apple of thine eye.’”
Michael Schwartz examines the following teaching from the Gospel of Thomas from the symbolic perspective: “Jesus said: ‘I shall choose you, one out of a thousand, and two out of ten thousand, and they shall stand as a single one.’” What are ways we can come together today when we seem so divided?
Michael Schwartz examines distractions, dissatisfaction, and diseases and explores the why's and wherefore's of each. Once we identify the subtle ways these affect us, a plan of action can be established to eliminate those energies.
Michael continues the discussion of the 21st teaching in the Gospel of Thomas. “Except ye be converted and become as little children, ye shall not enter the kingdom of heaven” (Matthew 18:3). How can we become more childlike? More loving, forgiving, and compassionate? Michael discusses the symbolic perspective of this teaching and how it can apply to our lives today.
Michael Schwartz examines the following teaching from the symbolic perspective: “Jesus saw children who were being suckled. He said to his disciples: ‘These children who are being suckled are like those who enter the Kingdom.’ They said to Him: ‘shall we then, being children, enter the Kingdom?’ Jesus said to them: ‘When you make the two one, and when you make the inner as the outer, and the outer as the inner, and the above as the below, and when you make the male and the female into a single one, so that the male will not be male, and the female [not] be female, when you make eyes in the place of an eye, and a hand in the place of a hand, and a foot in the place of a foot, [and] an image in the place of an image, then shall you enter [the Kingdom].’” Here is a reflection of the teaching in the New Testament: “Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the Kingdom of Heaven” (Matthew 18:3).
Michael Schwartz will examine the following teaching from the symbolic perspective: “The disciples said to Jesus: ‘Tell us what the Kingdom of Heaven is like.’ He said to them: ‘It is like a mustard seed, smaller than all seeds. But when it falls on the tilled earth, it produces a large branch and becomes shelter for [the] birds of heaven.’” Here is the teaching in the New Testament: “It is like a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and cast into his garden; and it grew, and waxed a great tree; and the fowls of the air lodged in the branches of it” (Luke 13:19).
Michael Schwartz continues his exploration into the Teachings of the Gospel of Thomas. In this episode Michael will examine the following Teaching from the symbolic perspective: “Jesus said: ‘Blessed is he who was before he came into being. If you become disciples to Me and hear My words, these stones will minister to you. For you have five trees in Paradise, which are unmoved in summer [or] in winter and their leaves do not fall. Whoever knows them will not taste death.’”
On today’s episode, Michael will discuss how to develop awareness of the symbols in our lives. Discover how to spot symbols in dreams as well as other areas of your life. Learn how to understand them, and apply their guidance.
Our host will look at the 16th teaching because it is incredibly interesting and will make you do a double take because of what is said. “Jesus said, ‘Men think, perhaps, that it is peace which I have come to cast upon the world. They do not know that it is dissension which I have come to cast upon the earth: fire, sword, and war. For there will be five in a house: three will be against two, and two against three, the father against the son, and the son against the father. And they will stand solitary.’"
“Jesus said, ‘When you see one who was not born of woman, prostrate yourselves on your faces and worship him. That one is your father.’" Jesus always refers to God as "father," which is understandable considering the times were dominated by a patriarchal society. However, in this teaching he gives another perspective. There are many interesting aspects to this teaching, and some of it is almost contradictory to what humankind has been taught. From that perspective, this is a fascinating teaching to examine and ponder.
“Jesus said, ‘I have cast fire upon the world, and see, I am guarding it until it [the world] blazes.’" This particular teaching has no correlation in the New Testament, but it is vital to understand considering that fire is symbolic of the emotions. Our host will also examine the spiritual and emotional applications, as well as take calls for any condition, ailment, event, dream, or whatever you would like symbolically interpreted.
This past week our host covered the fundamental understanding of the teaching plus the spiritual and emotional applications. This week he will examine the physical/material and social/intellectual selves, and the application of this teaching to each of those selves.
Join Michael Schwartz as he takes a deep dive into this passage from the Gospel of Thomas. Jesus said: See, the sower went out, he filled his hand, he threw. Some seeds fell on the road; the birds came, they gathered them. Others fell on the rock and did not strike root in the earth and did not produce ears. And others fell on the thorns; they choked the seed and the worm ate them. And others fell on the good earth; and it brought forth good fruit; it bore sixty per measure and one hundred twenty per measure. This same Teaching can be found in Matthew 13:3-9; Mark 4:3-9; Luke 8:5-8.
Michael begins the symbolic examination of the eighth teaching in the Gospel of Thomas. "And he said, 'The man is like a wise fisherman who cast his net into the sea and drew it up from the sea full of small fish. Among them the wise fisherman found a fine large fish. He threw all the small fish back into the sea and chose the large fish without difficulty. Whoever has ears to hear, let him hear.'"
This is a continuation of the seventh teaching. Michael will look at applications as they relate to the last two selves, the physical and the social.
This episode explores one of the more esoteric teachings. Jesus said, "Blessed is the lion which becomes man when consumed by man; and cursed is the man whom the lion consumes, and the lion becomes man." Interestingly, there is no counterpart or reference to this teaching in the King James Bible. In almost all the teachings in Thomas, you can find a reflection or part of the teaching.
In today’s episode, Michael continues with the sixth teaching in the Gospel According to Thomas as it applies to the physical and social self. The material and intellectual self will also be discussed and how understanding and applying this teaching can be beneficial to one’s growth.
This episode examines the symbology of the fifth teaching in the Gospel of Thomas. Here Jesus said: “Know what is in thy sight and what is hidden from thee will be revealed to thee. For there is nothing hidden which will not be made manifest.” This is a great teaching on why it is important to read symbols.
In this episode, Michael discusses the applications of the fourth teaching in the Gospel of Thomas, covering the physical/material and social/intellect selves.
On today's show, Michael will be exploring symbolically the fourth teaching in the Gospel According to Thomas. Jesus said: "The man old in days will not hesitate to ask a little child of seven days about the place of Life, and he will live. For many who are first shall become last and they shall become a single one." In the King James Bible it is stated in Mark 10:31: "But many that are first shall be last; and the last first." Luke 13:30: "And, behold, there are last which shall be first, and there are first which shall be last." Michael breaks down this passage and explains how this relates to you.
This episode begins the third teaching: Jesus said, “If those who lead you say to you ‘see the Kingdom is in Heaven’ then the birds of heaven will precede you. If they say to you ‘it is in the sea’ then the fish will precede you. But the kingdom is within you and it is without you. If you will know yourselves then you will be known and you will know that you are the sons of the Living Father. But if you do not know yourselves then you are in poverty and you are poverty.” Here is the teaching in the King James Bible, Luke 17:21. “Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.”
This episode concludes the second teaching and its application to the four selves. The four selves are the spiritual, emotional, physical/material, and the social/intellectual selves.
In this episode, our host concluded perspectives on the first teaching and began the second: Jesus said, “Let him who seeks, not cease seeking until he finds, and when he finds he will be troubled, and when he has been troubled he will marvel and reign over the all.” Here is the teaching as it is presented in the King James Bible, Matthew 7:7. Luke 11:9: “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.”
