I love the fall season.
Well I bought two of those trail cameras this year, and put them out where I do most of my deer hunting. After a few days the suspense got the best of me, and I went out and changed the cards. Next time I will leave them a little longer. Both cameras had pictures of a doe, the cameras are a long way apart, so I don't think it's the same one. This is the best of the pictures, there are a few pictures of this doe with the flash not bothering her at all.
Next, I need a picture of the big buck. :)

These wild turkey have been walk across the back yard almost everyday since the snow got deep. Sometimes as many as 30 birds will go across, what a great sight.

Well here it is, episode 2 of the My Hunt Camp podcast. It's got a great tip for new hunters, a product review, and a great recipe that is quick and easy with very little clean up. The food for thought question is, "how do you hang your deer, head up or down?" I'm still working on the sound quality and delivery, and hope there is some improvment. Well, I have finished recording my first podcast. Wow it was tougher than I thought it would be. When it came time to put all of those thoughts out, I couldn't say them as fast as I wanted. So there are to many ummm's. My hats off to people who talk on air all the time. But I will work on it, and promise that the shows will get much better. The deer hunt is over here, well the gun hunt is over where I do my deer hunting. We can still bow hunt until the end of the year, so I plan to get out for that a few times. Yes, we still have a tag as my son didn't get his deer yet, but he had a great time and learned a few lessons.
From the other hunters around here, that I have talked to, it seems that the larger groups did well. But for some of the guys hunting with one or two friends it was a tough hunt. The rut just didn't seem to be in full swing yet.

My name is Dave McMahon and I will be the host of this blog, and the My Hunt Camp podcast. The deer hunt is on right now in Ontario, we have two more days in the gun hunt, and I am trying to help my son get his first deer. He is 15 and this is the first year he is allowed to carry his own gun on the hunt. I filled my tag on opening day with a nice forked buck, it was a school day for my son, but his turn will come.
