So what to play early evening in a club that is filling up after the record fair had ended with hungry crate diggers, deck sharks & every kind of party people? In this short Waxsafari Live DJ recording I went for a classic blockparty party fire starter set , all across the midtempo board, from New Wave Reggae, Modern Soul, Island Funk , Brazilian Samba, Slomo Disco, to Kraut Electro & French Boogie. It´s the Epilogue to their award winning debut album „ en route to Thailand“(free soul inc.) featuring strictly original productions , two unreleased tracks , an edit plus the highly acclaimed Khidja remix of their Schattenspiel Dub single. Following in the footsteps of German World Jazz visionary Joachim-Ernst Berendt & his 1960´s „Jazz meets the world“ series on the highly collectible Black Forest label SABA records , Niko Schabel (Radio Citizen, Express Brass Band & part time member of the world jazz pioneers Embryo ;Berlin / Munich) and Tom Wieland (7 Samurai, Panoptikum Arkestra etc..; Vienna) travel the world in search of new rhythm and sound inspirations.
First sOund vOyage stop, Siam, resulting in the album „ en route to Thailand“ : Post Kraut Exotica bass music for the forward thinkers and probably one of the first examples of traditional South East Asian music meeting Western Underground Electronica . „Imagine Kraftwerk jammin´ in a Thai temple with the locals & Moritz von Oswald on the controls and you´re almost there“ (gp) Now here is the final chapter of this first journey.

This time I´ll keep it more on "classic" spiritual jazz tip: you´ll hear Pharoah Sanders,Hannibal, Khan Jamal and some more under the rader tunes from Paul Weiner or Joby Bernabe ...the deep & slow,strictly vinyl...skillwise with focus on the flow ,not on jazz breaks which gives the mixtape a pleasant ,almost trippy floating vibe.
