Jo, from Kindred Birth, is a bonafide birth nerd who has undertaken multiple doula trainings to become a birth keeper. She believes giving birth unfettered by the constraints of hospital systems, fear and the stories of others is a woman’s birthright. Today she supports women to birth their babies in their power at home. Elevating the needs of women as they grow their family and transition into this phase of mothering is at the heart of her work as a Birthkeeper. In 2020 Jo embarked upon twelve glorious weeks of unlearning with The Radical Birth Keeper School, an authentic midwifery course that nudged her even closer to following her instinct to support home birth and birthing communities who choose to birth outside of the medical system. She works to guide people to ‘unlearn’ the cultural narrative that birth is unsafe by bringing them to a deep understanding of birth physiology and how to trust and listen to their body, pregnancy through mothering. If you enjoyed this episode then please share this with a friend & subscribe for future episodes.https://www.dogoodpodcast.co.uk/https://www.kindredbirth.co.uk/

Marcus Pibworth is a storyteller based in England but known to pop up around the globe, running storytelling workshops. He is an alumni of ‘The International School of Storytelling’. One of the key focuses of Marcus’ current work is on using storytelling to explore masculinity through his ‘Stories For Men’ series.

I first came across Marcus in Positive News Magazine a few years back, feeling inspired by his nomadic lifestyle living in a van and travelling around the UK & Europe recording his Ministry of Change podcast. Which is conversations about mental health, navigating the difficult bits of life and what it really means to be human.

In this podcast we discuss what it was like to live in a van for 3 years, mental health challenges men face, the transformational effects of storytelling, embracing fatherhood and much more in this insightful conversation.

In today’s episode, I delve deep into why I believe there’s never been a more important time to connect with others, speak our truth, share solutions and be the change we see in the world.

Looking around and what has unfolded these past few years and seeing things with your eyes wide open you realise, once you see what’s happening you can’t unsee it.

In this podcast, I give my take on the narrative that’s been playing out, sharing my own recent experience with Covid, how critical early treatment is, the suppression of some of the world’s leading doctors, how clinical trials show natural immunity is far more robust than immunity from the vaccine.

I also delve into how none of the measures in place appears to be supporting increased health. In fact, they are leading to the erosion of our freedoms and potentially taking us down a dystopian version of reality.

Yet, none of this must come to pass. If more of us shine our light on the darkness for others to see we can choose a different path for humanity. One that is built on connection, freedom and love. For this to happen it’s going to take us all stepping forward and being part of the solution, as the old systems crumble and new ones come to light.

Like Gandhi before us, it’s going to take a non-violent revolution of consciousness.

These challenging times will pass, like all things in life, whether they be good times or bad times nothing lasts in this life. But what a ride life is!

In this episode, I welcome Barry Taylor on the show who has for decades been working with ’Spiritually Inspired’ community projects and individuals helping them turn their inspired ideas into reality.

With his roots firmly established in Glastonbury since the 1980s, having been a successful entrepreneur in his earlier years, he has endeavoured to use his skills to help Glastonbury become a beacon for spiritual development once more.

In this fascinating conversation, we delve into how a poverty mindset hinders the progress of many creative ideas, and how to shift that perspective to allow your ideas to flourish and stand the test of time with the right structure in place.

We also delve into what makes Glastonbury so special and how pilgrimage can help bring expanded meaning to our lives and lead to a personal transformation.

I loved this conversation with Barry, I’m sure his words can offer hope to those on their own spiritual path.

In today’s episode, I dive deep into the challenging times we are living through, and even though it can appear on the surface that everything is in chaos, it’s a time of great transformation.

This podcast is about shedding light on the good that is happening around the world (gods know we need it right now). However, that doesn’t mean we should bury our heads in the ground when we are seeing injustices, lies, deceit and coercion happening right in front of our eyes.

I see the old systems breaking down, and as they are, the old power structure will do everything in its power to maintain its grip. Which we are seeing with the authoritarian measure that has swept the planet in recent times.

I share how I’ve seen the past 18 months unfold and how I believe a lot of the measures in place are in fact anti-health, which are disempowering and riddled with fear-mongering from our governments and media.

It is often when we are pushed into a corner that we realise what is important to us. We are at a crossroads on the planet right now, and we all have to decide what path we are going down and the kind of world we wish to live on. I for one, am choosing a life of freedom, peace, connection, community and enlightenment.

We all have a choice, we are powerful beings with so much to offer to the world, and there is a place for all of us in playing a part in the solutions.

Dave Linton is the founder of Madlug (Make A Difference Luggage), which are an award-winning bag brand helping to give dignity to children in care.

Started back in 2015 after he was heartbroken to hear that most children in care transport their worldly belongings in a bin bag. He set out to do something about it, and with just a few quid in his pocket he started Madlug and came up with the idea of ‘Buy one Give one’ approach: so with every bag purchased, one will be given to a child in care.

In today's episode, I welcome Charlotte Davies on the show who is an acclaimed Spirit Medium.

It’s a bit left-field this episode, although anyone who’s listened to my podcast for a while will be aware of my spiritual beliefs and that this life is far more magical than we were lead to believe. But that aside, it’s certainly different to other kinds of guests I’ve had on the show and I just ask that you keep an open mind as hear Charlotte’s story.

She shares some of the mind-bending stories from readings she’s given to people allowing them to connect with loved ones who may no longer be in physical form but still exist in the non-physical realms.

After having a reading with her early this year it left no doubt in my mind that she is tapped in to other realms and the information she brings through is genuine.

Charlotte talks about how this all began in childhood, the challenges she faced in her early years dealing with these extrasensory abilities, and how she came to terms with it and has allowed it to be a force for good in her life.

In today episode, I discuss a topic that’s close to my heart – giving up our relentless pursuit of material possessions and instead focusing our attention on doing good and how this brings us the happiness, satisfaction and the recognition we are after (and save us a ton of money and time in the process).

From my own experience of chasing after and amassing a certain level of material wealth in the past, I come to realise I was always left wanting more, always comparing myself to others and being left with a deep dissatisfaction with daily life.

I’ve found there is an alternative way of living, by letting go of that way of doing and achieving and instead, charting our own heart-centred path, we bring greater freedom and contentment into our lives. With this space and time, we can then focus our energy on creating lasting positive changes in our lives and those around us.

I touch on how minimalism supports this transition, as well as relieving ourselves from the constant debt cycle and how living a simple uncluttered life is a doorway to untold riches.

In today's episode, I welcome James Boag back on the show. This time around we focused our attention on the events that have been unfolding the past year and the opportunity it’s given us to reclaim our individual sovereignty.

James intertwines his yogic wisdom into the subject offering a deeper perspective on the current events, allowing us to see the gifts that have come by taking this extended pause.

And as the saying goes ‘the bigger the challenge, the bigger the opportunity is for growth’ we discuss how we are being invited to see this time as an opportunity to become better versions of ourselves.

I for one felt nourished by this inspiring conversation and gave me renewed optimism, I hope you get the same from it and for those interested in hearing more from James you can tune into episode 42 of this podcast as well as checking out his website.

Today’s episode is with Jackie O’Carroll, who is someone that has been leading the way for years when it comes to personal spiritual growth and has a wealth of wisdom behind her.

Most recently her journey has taken her towards becoming an end of life doula which ties together her years of experience as a children’s nurse, a life coach, as well as her studies in emotional intelligence & leadership.

She also has practical knowledge of setting up local communities and the role they can play in building connection, which is something that is sorely missed right now.

In today's episode, I’m joined by artist, author & podcaster Ben Tallon to hear how he’s carved a career out for himself by doing the things he loves.

While juggling his day job being an artist he’s recently published two Indie books (YA MUM & Isolation Watch) giving him a new creative outlet to the explore other ideas and interests. And given the fact he’s recently become a father to twins, it makes it all the more impressive.

The one thing that stands out for me about Ben and his work is he’s not afraid to try something new and see where it ends up. Often the smallest of ideas at the time has taken him down new and exciting paths.

In this podcast, Ben offers advice to those looking to get their creative passions off the ground, his techniques for being productive as well many other nuggets of wisdom from his years of experience.

In today's episode, I’m joined by filmmaker & musician Ben Joseph Stewart, who's mind-expanding films have reached millions of people around the globe helping them on their awakening journey.

He also has a popular show on Gaia called Limitless and has recently started producing his weekly Waking Infinity News, which I would highly recommend, as he delves way beneath the surface of what is going on in the world.

Ben is not afraid to speak his truth and go against the status quo, something I believe takes bravery in this world. He shares his experience on how he finds the courage to stick his head up above the crowd and share the information he finds to be true to him.

This wide-ranging interview covers subjects like unpicking the truth behind all the conspiracy theories out there, his awakening experiences with plant medicine and psychedelics, the health benefits of a breathwork practise, among plenty of other fascinating topics.

In today's episode, the final one of 2020, I reflect on the year we’ve just had and discuss how now more than ever, we should expect the unexpected in our lives.

Never before, in our lifetimes anyway, have all our worlds been turned so much upside down by the effects of Covid-19. All our dreams, wishes and plans have been abruptly halted, causing us to put the breaks on our fast-paced lives.

Whether we like it or not, it’s happened. We can either fight with our reality, attempting to get back to ‘normal’ so we can continue full pelt on the hamster wheel. Or we can take this once in the lifetime opportunity to take a deep pause and reflect on our lives and the choices we make.

As we step forth into 2021 and beyond, we have an opportunity to rather than getting lost in plans for the future or worrying about the past, we can instead choose to act more in the present moment and take each day as it comes.

Today’s episode is with Eddie Coker, a children's singer/songwriter who typically performs over 200 concerts a year (and has been described as the James Brown of children's music).

I was most fascinated to hear about the work he does teaching children, teens, families, and educators about emotional wholeness and emotional intelligence through his organisation Wezmore.

Truth is our kids are hurting, Eddie has seen this more than most over the past several decades, so through his organisation, he helps tens of thousands of young people and their families navigate the complexity of our emotional lives with practical skills and tips that are delivered through a variety of highly engaging media.

Today’s episode is with British author Isabel Losada, who combines humour with a serious look at her subject matter. She has worked as an actress, broadcaster and public speaker as well as a comedian and author.

In this wide-ranging interview, Isabel delves deep into what it takes to be a successful author, including tips for dealing with rejection as well as plenty of other nuggets of advice.

It’s been nearly two years since I launched my podcast and have just passed 50 episodes. During this time I’ve learned a lot about what it takes to create a successful podcast.

Recently I’ve been receiving a lot of messages about how to start a podcast so I’ve created this episode showing you step-by-step instructions.

In this episode I share these 5 Steps:

  1. Coming up with a theme for your show

  2. Get yourself a good quality microphone

  3. Recording your first episode

  4. Find a place to host your files

  5. Promoting your podcast

I’ll expand on these steps and will also share some added extra information on other things like how to develop an income from podcasting.

The best thing you can do is just start and make it up as you go along as twenty years from now you’ll be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than the things you did.

By starting a podcast you’ll learn a ton of things along the way and you never know where it may lead you one day. You may even chart a new career path for yourself. The world is your oyster.

4:40 - Intro to podcasts
5:23 - Getting Started Getting Clear on the theme of your show
7:22 - Podcast artwork & description of your show
8:20 - Getting the right equipment

On today's show, I spoke with Pam Warhurst who cofounded Incredible Edible, an initiative begun in Northern England dedicated to growing food locally by planting on unused land throughout the community, she called it propaganda gardening.

She has been an activist and advisor for over 40 years. She has been involved in local politics and national policy as the Chair of the Board of the Forestry Commission, which advises on and implements forestry policy in Great Britain.

She also co-founded Incredible Edible Todmorden, a local food partnership that encourages community engagement through local growing. Incredible Edible started small, with the planting of a few community herb gardens in Todmorden, and today has spin-offs in the U.S. and Japan, counting over 100 groups in the UK and 1000 world-wide.

Incredible Edible empowers ordinary people to take control of their communities through active civic engagement, redefining prosperity through the power of small actions.

She is currently developing the impact work of Incredible Edible through the proposition of a New Social Contract to transform the frameworks of our lives so that all people can live well and live long.

In today’s episode, I spoke with David Hieatt who is the founder of Hiut Denim, who is based in Cardigan in West Wales. Their ethos is to Do One Thing Well and because of that approach many say they make the best jeans on the planet right now (which I have to agree with having owned a pair for the last 7 years).

When I started this podcast I had a list of the kind of people and companies that I wanted to speak with and Hiut was on that list. Not just because they make the best jeans but because of the mission behind the brand and how they bringing craftsmanship back to a town which desperately needed to start making things again.

Set up by David and Clare Hieatt, their mission is to get back the 400 jobs that were lost when the biggest jeans factory in Britain closed its doors back in 2001. And when Meghan Markle was seen wearing their jeans it took them to a whole new level and allowed them to move back into the original factory that used to make 35,000 jeans per week.

For any budding entrepreneur or a seasoned pro, there is plenty of wisdom shared in this episode, whether that’s about having patience and hard work with your idea to the importance of curating a story behind your brand, there’s a lot worth absorbing in this one.

In this episode, I had a truly fascinating conversation with yoga teacher James Boag, hearing all about his approach to becoming a whole human being.

In this episode, I attempt to offer a silver lining when we are going through challenging times our life.

I Beleive amongst every crisis is an opportunity to see the good that can come from it. For the most part, it's up to us to reframe external events and see the positives that can come from them and how they can help steer us down a better path.

I share some inspiring stories that have come out of the current pandemic, from the countless community groups that are appearing throughout our neighbourhoods, to the environmental benefits, and how one billionaire is giving away a massive chunk of his wealth to help get us through these times.

After being made redundant from his finance job in 2010 and having no luck finding a new role after sending out over a thousand CVs, he decided that he had to create his own job. Then during one sleepless night, he stumbled across an article about selling chocolate and this is where his idea was born.

The company has thrived since starting out in Paul’s kitchen and is now a multi award winning manufacturer of “fiendishly good chocolate” which is ethically sourced.

In this episode, I had a great conversation with Bruce Davis, who is the founder and managing director of Abundance Investment, which has been at the forefront of financial innovation since 2012, creating ways for everyone to invest in green and social infrastructure.

Bruce was instrumental in the development of peer to peer finance, using that knowledge along with his fellow co-founders to create Abundance. It’s impressive how well this company is run, not only for its green credentials but the level of trust and transparency you get with where you invest your money. For as little as £5 you can start an account and start making good money by investing in a better world.

We also discuss the financial impact of the current pandemic, educating the youth on money as well as dispelling some of the myths around being an entrepreneur.

In this episode, I had a fascinating conversation with Rich Zimmerman, the Executive Director of Orangutan Outreach, whose mission is to save critically endangered orangutans and protect their rainforest home.

Rich's unconditional love for orangutans stretches back to his childhood growing up in southern California, and after a trip to Indonesia in 2006 he felt deep in his heart that he had to do something to protect these animals. Especially after hearing that six football-sized fields of rainforest a minute were being destroyed just for oil palm consumption.

Using his experience from working at UNICEF in NYC and several orangutan conservation organisations, he has helped save the lives of thousands of orangutans through is many outreach programs across Indonesia.

This is one inspiring heartfelt story, you’ll either want to adopt one of their orangutans or go do your own bit of good in the animal world.

In this episode, I share my thoughts on the current coronavirus pandemic and how within every crisis there is an opportunity for positive change.

Now I’m not getting away from that fact this is a very challenging time for the planet as we navigate the effects it’s having on our daily lives (especially in the short term at least). Yet can we use this time of slowing down to reflect more deeply on how we are living our lives, individually and collectively, to make more conscious choices in times to come?

And we can begin to ask some bigger questions too, like do the political and financial systems that are in place serve the best interest of the people and the planet of a whole? I discuss all of this as well as how I expect more people to go inward during the time and develop their own mindfulness practises to support their own mental health and wellbeing.

In this episode I was joined by musician and sound therapy practitioner, Alex Macarte, to hear all about his career and how its evolved over recent times.

Alex has been in the music industry since he was a teenager and has toured all over the world with his band Gnod, who are a British rock band from Salford, Greater Manchester.

Then a few years back he started to understand the deeper healing qualities of sound and this began his journey towards becoming a sound therapy practitioner, which uses vibrations (vocal or instrumental-like gongs, Tibetan singing bowls and tuning forks) in order to relax your mind and body. He works one-to-one with clients as well as running events.

There is so much wisdom shared in this episode which stretches far beyond the realm of music, and if you listen carefully you’ll hear the sound of our garden birds joining in with the conversation.

In this episode, I talk about one of the things I’m most passionate about, optimising my health and wellbeing.

I delve deep into my own healing journey, something I’ve not talked about much, and how I’ve overcome numerous chronic health conditions which I had since I was a teenager.

Even though it’s been tough going at times, I see it as a blessing as I’ve been able to empower myself and uncover many insightful things as I got to the root cause of my own symptoms to bring my body back into a state of balance so I can feel like I’m thriving, rather than just surviving.

Sadly too many people are feeling in a state of dis-ease these days. I believe good health is available to everyone so I hope by sharing my own experience and what’s helped me on my own path others will see there’s a route for them to regain their own health and live well for years to come.

In this episode, I visited leading functional medicine practitioner, Dr Sarah Davies to hear about the amazing results she’s having with complex health conditions that her patients have been suffering with.

As a trained GP working within the NHS, she became frustrated with the prescribed approach to healthcare so decided to train in Functional Medicine to help get to the root cause of many of her patients' symptoms.

Dr Sarah is passionate about the importance of nutrition and lifestyle in shaping and optimising health - preferring this approach over medications to mask symptoms wherever possible. She has many successes treating patients with autoimmunity, thyroid problems, chronic fatigue and many other issues using these techniques.

This podcast is perfect for anyone who’s looking to delve deeper into their own health and wellbeing to empower themselves and those around them to live a healthier life.

In this episode, I share my thoughts on gift-giving during this time of the year and how the best things in life really aren’t things.

At Christmas, we each spend almost £1000 each on presents, decorations, food, drink and going out. Most people don’t account for this extra spend and end up getting in debt just to get by, loading themselves with extra pressure and stress when this time of year is supposed to be about slowing down.

This excess is clouding the true spirit of Christmas, so in this podcast, I delve deeper into how we can face this festive period from a greater sense of balance and peace and how we can better share our time and money.

From more thoughtful gift-giving ideas to making charitable donations as well as volunteering our time, this episode is full of ideas on how we can get back to what this time of year really means. We’ll feel better for it (and so will our bank balances).

In today’s episode, I had the chance to talk with environmental campaigner, Natalie Fee, and hear all about the inspiring work she is doing with her non-profit organisation, City to Sea.

The idea was sparked after seeing the powerfully moving story about the albatross birds on Midway Island in the Pacific, whose bodies are filled with ocean plastic.

This began a crusade against marine plastic pollution, which started with the humble plastic cotton bud stick. Thanks to her campaign she managed to pressure all UK retailers to only sell biodegradable paper stem buds from now on. A move which will stop over 478 tonnes of single-use, non-recyclable plastic being produced each year.

This is just one of the many initiatives City to Sea have successfully campaigned for in their fight against plastic pollution.

For her efforts, Natalie has been rightly recognised for her amazing work and has picked up a ton of accolades along the way, including the Sunday Times Volvo Visionaries Award for her campaign work. So it just goes to show that there are many benefits to doing good in this world.

In this episode, I share my experience from seeing Dr Joe Dispenza at his Becoming Supernatural event in London.

Joe is a lecturer, researcher, author and educator and is driven by the conviction that each of us has the potential for greatness and unlimited abilities.

Myself and about 1000 others got to absorb the incredible wisdom he had to share on how we can rewire our brains and recondition our bodies to make lasting changes.

This episode is perfect for those who are ready to take a quantum leap in their understanding of what is humanly possible in this life. And I share some valuable tools and techniques on how to release old negative patterns by tapping into deeper levels of ourselves to fulfil our true potential.

In this episode, I had a great conversation with decluttering expert, Julieanne Steel.

Having built an affluent lifestyle for herself, which from the outside looked like she was living the perfect life. Yet this life had left her feeling unfulfilled, stressed, worn out and with a mound of debt.

This triggered a period of deep reflection and transformation in her life, which allowed her to let go of the things that no longer served her highest good. She now applies all that wisdom in helping others declutter their lives so they can begin to live more by owning less.

This episode is full of advice on how we can begin to get to the root cause of our clutter so we can be free of it once and for all.

In this episode, I talk all about honesty and the transformational effects it has on our lives.

We’ve all made a ton of mistakes along the way. Life is after all about living and learning. Yet, there’s probably a good few things we’ve done that we’ve regretted and those old memories can be painful to remember.

I delve into how we can face up to some of these challenges and how we'll find freedom on the other side. I may not be an easy process but it sure is worth it to let go of all that old baggage.

I talk candidly about a few of the mistakes I’ve made and the process I’ve gone on to free myself from the burden they were having on me.

It takes strength and courage to admit the truth. And once you get a taste of the freedom of honesty, it’s hard not to want more of it.

In this episode, I had the pleasure of being joined by spiritual teacher Louise Kay.

After graduating from university she worked as an English teacher for 15 years, and during this time began to question the deeper meaning of life. This led her to the path of spirituality, where she found a strong resonance with the teachings of non-duality.

In her early thirties, Louise felt a deep call in her heart to visit India, where she experienced a profound spiritual awakening. She now holds group events around the world helping people reconnect to their natural state.

Have you ever wondered who that voice is in your head? The voice that never gives you a minute with its endless stream of thought. Well in this episode, I delve deeper into this and explore the pitfalls of the ego and how we can begin to take a step back from it all and not get so attached with its endless chatter.

On average we have around 80,000 thoughts per day, and if we live our lives attaching too much meaning to them we can end up experiencing so much unnecessary suffering. Letting go and surrendering appears to be the way forward, however, those words can be tricky to put into practice.

By hearing other people real-life stories they can really help us see things from a different perspective. And this is exactly what I found by reading all about Michael A. Singer’s life and how he’s been practising the art of surrender for the best part of 40 years with miraculous results.

There are countless other stories showing to each and everyone one it’s possible to begin to let go more and trust in the flow of life.

In this episode, I visited Lauren & Jess from The Cares Family to find out about the wonderful work they are doing bringing young professionals and older neighbours together to help overcome loneliness.

Cares all started through a random interaction when its founder Alex met an isolated neighbour Fred in London and took him for his first haircut in 3 months. This started a change reaction which has lead to over 15,000 older and younger people being paired up over the past 8 years.

It’s the real-life stories that are really heartwarming and there’s plenty of inspiring ones shared in this episode for you to enjoy. And when you delve a little deeper and understand the effects loneliness has on our overall health and welling you get it even more how important this charity is to the communities it supports.

In today's episode, I talk about the advantages of developing our own self-care routine into our daily lives.

We lead busy lives; our calendars are full, our to-do list is never-ending and we feel overwhelmed by technology. All this can mean me-time is usually last on the agenda.

Talking of technology, do you know that the first thing 84% us do when waking up is reach for our phone. Zapping us of our much-needed energy and concentration for the rest of the day.

Imagine if we cut our screen time by just 30 mins each day and used that time on some simple techniques, we could be leading healthy and happy lives. From ideas around sleep, diet, exercise, being in nature, as well as our pets, I discuss how it’s possible for us to find time to take more care of ourselves.

By doing this, we are able to be more productive and focused, as well as feeling calmer and more balanced. And who doesn’t want to have more of that?

In this episode, I was joined by yoga & meditation teacher, Martin Bone, to talk about how he’s helping hundreds of people find more peace and serenity in their lives.

Having been a professional tennis coach for 10 years, he began asking himself some bigger questions in his life, beginning to understand there was more to explore and experience.

A trip to a monastery in Thailand in 2012 gave him a taste of what he was looking for, during his time with the monks he experienced more serenity than at any other time in his life. Along with a series of other retreats around the world, he’s been able to channel all he’s learnt through his business Planet Yoga in Liverpool.

Here’s just a favour of some of the things we discuss; from what it means to be a man growing up in today’s world and the men’s retreats he runs, his experiences working with plant medicine and it's transformational benefits, as well as how his young daughter is shaping how he sees the world.

In today's episode, I talk about the benefits of taking greater risks in our lives so we can live a richer and more fulfilled life.

So often we can feel confined by society and go along with what’s accepted, yet we all know deep down there’s more to explore and enjoy in this life.

I’ve changed tracks quite a few things in my life, going against the grain, and not once have I regretted those choices. I always consider ‘what’s the worst that can happen?’ and if I’m okay with that then I’ll often take that leap of faith in the unknown and do my best to enjoy the ride.

I also share some age-old wisdom from the people at the end of their life so we can learn from them and live without similar regrets.

Life is an adventure that is there to be lived. Let’s get every last drop out of it and then when that day comes for us to leave this earth plane behind we’ll know we lived a life worth living.

In this episode, I sit down with 90-year-old Jim Giles to talk about how he’s truly flourished in his later life by focusing his time on his creative endeavours.

In his 60’s he went back to university to get his degree in Fine Art and then in his 80’s he goes on to complete his Masters, proving to us all that its never too late to go down a new path.

Jim shares his experiences growing up during a world war and some of the challenges he’s faced. He also reflects back on some of his regrets in life and shares some of the wisdom he’ll be passing onto his grandchildren.

For me personally, I feel there’s so much to gain from sitting down with our elders and absorbing all the wisdom they have to share. I certainly left with a spring in my step.

In today's episode, I talk about tapping back into the present moment to experience a more peaceful and enjoyable life.

The relentless chatter of the mind can have us constantly thinking about past/future events, making up all sorts of drama, pulling us away from truly experiencing the here and now.

We all have the power within ourselves to go beyond our egoic mind and experience greater levels of ourselves, making life so much more amazing in the process.

The teachings of Eckhart Tolle have played a significant part in helping me realise this and allowing me to feel calmer, experience more happiness and begin to make more positive life choices.

In this episode, I share my thoughts on mental health and some of the challenges I’ve faced in my own life.

Most boys growing up would have heard the phrase ‘big boys don’t cry’ and that showing your emotions is a sign of weakness. Well, I challenge this outdated approach at length and believe suppressing our emotions it’s a recipe for disaster for later in life.

I talk openly about some of the biggest challenges I’ve faced and the effects it’s had on my own mental health. Including being on anti-depressants, and how through speaking to a therapist I was able to understand how I was feeling and help release away that pressure. I also go in-depth about how meditation & journalling have really helped in recent years.

Our mental health is something we’ve all got to take care of, especially in these times when so much is changing. Being vulnerable and talking openly is, I believe, a sign strength not a weakness and I encourage you to find a way to talk about some of the challenges we face.

In this episode I share my thoughts on embracing failure as part of the process and how it’s key to mastering any skill.

As we grow up we are often told that failure is considered a bad thing and something to be avoided. I turn this one on its head and share how it’s an essential part of the learning process and why it should be encouraged, and even celebrated, as long as we are doing our best.

I share plenty of great examples of people who have found success despite plenty of failures, from Richard Branson to Walt Disney, who show time and time again the key is never giving up on a good thing.

This episode is for anyone who is looking to turn the idea failure into a positive force in their life. As the sayings goes 'fortune favours the brave'...

In this episode, I sat down with Viv Slack to talk about her organisation, Street Support Network, which is doing an incredible job at connecting charities to help put an end to homelessness.

Viv shares her experience of leaving behind a comfortable job to take the road less travelled and follow her heart. If you feel like you are after a healthy dose of inspiration to take that leap of faith to start that new idea then this podcast is the one for you.

We talk in-depth about the company and how her interaction with a homeless man sparked her journey towards creating this organisation, which in turn is helping others just like him to find a way towards a better life.

She cites Gandhi as one of her greatest influences and I feel his quote 'Be the change you want to see in the world' is perfectly summed up by Viv's actions. I felt really inspired after this interview and feel privileged to be able to share Viv's journey with you all.

In this episode, I had the pleasure of sitting down with the editor of Positive News Magazine, Lucy Purdy.

Those that delved into my first episode will know how much I admire the amazing work this publication is doing, helping shed some much-needed light on the all the good and inspiring things that are happening around the world.

As Lucy says “I'm proud to be working on an alternative: informing people but inspiring them too”. This sure does feel like a great way for us to receive our news and a good way for me to get my interviews up and running.

We go in-depth about the magazine, Lucy's journey to becoming editor, her love of nature and growing food, as well the people that inspire her to do what she does.

In this episode, I share what this new podcast is all about.

Every couple of weeks I'll be sharing people's inspiring and uplifting stories from around the world. I believe there's so much good happening right now on the planet, which isn't getting nearly enough attention it deserves – I hope by sharing these people's stories it'll help inspire listeners to go out there and show more of what they are made of and do their own bit of good in the world.

I've got interviews lined up with a woman who is running a homeless organisation, an inspiring owner of a green energy company, a healthy food start-up entrepreneur, as well as the editor of a really uplifting magazine.

Each episode I'll be sitting down with them over a brew and delving into what makes them tick, the journey they've gone on and share plenty of nuggets of wisdom along the way.
