In the fourth episode we are talking about our study abroad and there is also space for some final thoughts and advice. Matt was in Europe last summer, where he spent 5 weeks studying abroad and travelling. It is a lot of fun to listen to some of his stories from study abroad. Jane is an exchange student from the Czech Republic currently studying at ASU, so it is interesting to see it from her point of view when she talks about the things studying abroad brought her. Nina did not study abroad but her recommendations based on her experiences can be really helpful for the incoming students. It is important to find out what makes you happy and ASU gives you a great opportunity to do so. We hope you will enjoy listening to our last episode and it may motivate you to try new things!

In this episode of How I Met ASU, our team will be touching on our involvement experiences on campus. Jana talks about the difference between her campus at home and ASU. Getting involved on campus at ASU is a much more prevalent compared to her university in Europe so we’ll learn about that change through her part in the episode. Nina goes on to talk about the organizations she’s involved in from freshman year to senior year. She talks about the leadership positions she’s gotten through these clubs and the coolest opportunity she’s had in her Greek Life experience. Rachel goes into detail about the highlights of her involvement in the Delta Sigma Pi fraternity and the Programming and Activities Board(PAB). Matt talks about how he suddenly joined PAB his junior year and was quickly brought on as a paid staff member. Thanks for listening to another episode of How I Met ASU!

In this episode of How I Met ASU, our team will be touching on the topic of  our first year experiences here at ASU, what we liked and didn’t like, and how the overall experience affected our time at the university. Ideally these experiences help the audience to feel more comfortable with the idea of transitioning into college. Rachel went off and bought a puppy (again, don’t do it unless you REALLY have the time), Matt met his BFF, Jana settled into off-campus living with TWO KITTENS, and Nina went roommate-less AND got involved on campus. The first year on campus is a very special one, and the kickstart to the rest of our lives.

In our pilot episode we provided some useful information as to how we got here, to ASU, and how the experience was for each of us. For Jana, weather and reputation brought her all the way from the Czech Republic. For Nina, parent’s preference brought her here, but she grew to love it (thanks dad!). For Rachel, it came down to logistics. Price, distance from home, and the big city drew her in. And for Matt, several acts of fate… weird coincidences… and several head injuries brought him here. This goes to show that everybody’s experiences WILL be different, and that’s totally cool because it gives each of us a completely unique experience with the university we love so much.
