On Monday, February 13, at the Westwood Club, from 12:00 to ​​1:30 pm, we welcomed Nick Sargen to discuss his topic: "Is Trump's Election a Game Changer?" The presentation will highlight the role that small and mid-sized companies may play in an American revival, and the need for increased business capital spending to spur productivity growth. It will then focus on policies relating to corporate taxes, government spending, international trade and exchange rates.  Similarities and differences with the Reagan years will be noted, including the prospect for outsized budget and trade deficits and their impact on bond yields. The webinar will conclude with an assessment of "Trumpenomics" and where markets are likely headed. Sargen is chief economist of Fort Washington Investment Advisors, Inc. He is the author of the book Moods and Markets (FT Press, 2012) which details how investors can improve returns by using non-market indicators of confidence. Atwater is a regular contributor to Minyanville.com and has written articles for the World Policy Institute. His research on confidence has been mentioned in The Financial Times, Reuters and Time Magazine. Atwater has also been a commentator on television, appearing on CNBC and Fox Business News.
