I provide information about research conducted on the experiences of and the military culture regarding women who serve. As a future music therapist who hopes to work with military populations, I thought it would be prudent to research common experiences for women in the military and the culture surrounding them during their military careers. This information is welcome to all who want to know more about what women face when they serve in the military.

In episode 3, I discuss the doctoral psychology dissertation by Rita Carlson entitled, Reintegration Experiences of Women in the Military. It follows the reintegration process for 6 female soldiers in the National Guard who fought in Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) and/or Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) and the struggles they faced as female veterans.
