The Call to Mission (C2M) podcast is a conversation that engages pastors, missionaries, missionary candidates, IM staff, theologians, missiologists and scholars as they reflect on cross-cultural mission and God’s call to serve in God’s mission around the globe. The C2M podcast is an initiative of Mission Mobilization at International Ministries (IM) and will be available monthly.
Sarah McCloy, from the great state of West Virginia talks about her call to cross-cultural mission.
International Ministries Global Servants, Carmella Jones (Hungary), Faye Yarbrough (South Africa), and Toya Richards (endorsed to serve in South Africa) reflect on their faith journeys in God’s mission.
Dr. Alana Tappin responds to the following questions:
- Given that you come from a psychology background, what is your understanding of theology from a psychological perspective?
- What advice can you give to those involved in cross cultural missions in terms of understanding people in general?
- What would you say are some of the most pressing issues for the church/for ministry today?
- Does psychology aid the believer/missionary in understanding that God is interested in the whole person?
Dr. Tappin is a psychologist who is trained in psychodynamic/relational methods, emotion-focused therapy, attachment-informed methods, mindfulness-based interventions, dialectical behavior therapy, family systems theory, and cognitive behavioral therapy.
Dr. Brown gives a brief glimpse of his life and shares how he sees God working in Global Mission. He tells about how the BWA is encouraging mission around the world and he offers counsel to those who are sensing God’s call to cross-cultural mission.
As an Asian-American, Rev. Dr. Benjamin Chan shares about how faith informs his life, ministry and God's mission.
