From a young age, our brains gravitate towards narratives. Podcasts offer a special ability to share incredible stories. Even podcasts which focus on more abstract topics, or applied knowledge, use storytelling to bring subjects to life.
Student Council 2020-2021 of Dubai Scholars presents a podcast series that will take you through the roller coaster of different emotions that many teenagers experience, how one actually defines ‘success' & 'failure’, why is it important to strive forward as a ‘we’, along with many more interesting topics which will certainly entertain and educate listeners.
The final episode of Season 1 of the Podcast Series 'In Search of A Happier You', presented by Student Council 2020-2021, has been released! The podcast, co-hosted by Muhammad Toofail and Kushi Balla, features Ms. Sapna Changrani as the Guest Speaker.
Ms. Sapna Changrani is the Head of Secondary at Dubai Scholars Private School and she initiates, prioritizes and leads Secondary School improvement activities through effective and strategic leadership and planning. She has also been actively involved in counselling and helping students develop and implement realistic career and academic goals.
With that, we have now officially come to the end of the first season of the ‘In Search of A Happier You’ podcast series. A huge thanks to all our listeners from around the world who tuned in to our daily podcasts. Ms. Lynn McGovern is a secondary school teacher from Ireland who has lived and taught in Dubai for 3 years. She is passionate about the planet and explores it at every given opportunity. She has travelled to over 30 countries and these adventures have taught her a lot about herself, the planet and the secrets to a happy life.
Rayyan Abbasi is a well known name in Dubai Scholars. He has gone from being a prefect to Head Boy and the President of Dubai Scholars. In his capacity of Secretary General of DSMUN 2019, he influenced many students and even trained them to be among the best delegates in MUN’s, showing how he has contributed to student welfare.

He has had several years of experience in the entrepreneurial world.

Ms. Ditty has done a masters in psychiatric social work and human resource management. She has more than 14yrs of experience. Ms. Ditty is passionate when it comes to working with children and young people.
Mr. Dieter Thomas has worked in various fields over the last 30 years. He has worked in the British Council in Mumbai, DHL and has even ran his own company for a while but has finally settled down in Finance and Banking.

Ms. Athina was born and brought up in Abu Dhabi. After working for a couple of years in media and communications in the UAE, she realised that she had a special interest in education and helping children realise their potential. Since then, she has completed a master's in developmental psychology, worked in special education supporting children with learning and behavioural needs, and taught psychology.

Mrs. Alifya Taher is a (Magna cum Laude) BSc in MIS and gen business and BEd. She has been into teaching right after she finished her year 12. She has been teaching in Dubai for around 20 years now and has been a teacher in Dubai Scholars for the last 10 years. Imparting subject knowledge is only a small part of her job, I she is a friend, a guide, a philospher, a counsellor to all her children.
Mrs. Anupama Pradeep has an expertise in explaining complicated mathematical topics in an easily understandable manner. She has strong leadership skills and has a talent of employing strategies to effectively engaging all students and creating an interactive learning environment. She has recieved her Bachelors Degree in Physics and Computer Programming from the Mumbai University.

At present he teaches International GCSE English Language. His accomplishments include Master of Education, PGDBA in HR and CELTA from the Cambridge University in the United Kingdom. Mr. Jeoffrey loves motivating his students with pep talks about life. He says, ‘Every failure is a step towards excellence.’ He wants students to focus on their goal and start moving towards it.

Priti was born and raised in NYC to Indian-born parents. Priti’s been working in radio and TV since she was 17. Whether it was a promotions intern for a radio station, working on stories for Diane Sawyer at ABC or running her own morning show at her college radio station, Priti has always kept herself in the industry. After graduating, Priti came across the Arabian Radio Network here in Dubai and decided to give it a shot. So in 2008, she moved to Dubai to work as a News Presenter for Virgin Radio. Now, she’s the co-host on The Kris Fade Show.
Chanchal Sirohi is a passionate educator for more than 20 years now. She is currently the Head of the Commerce Department here at Dubai Scholars and holds a Bachelor of Science, Master in Business Administration and Master in Education from University of Bath, UK. She is a firm believer in life-long learning and that everyday is a chance to learn something new.

Amita Sudarshan Nambiar works as a special educator at Al Itihad Private School and has a rich experience of working in her field for the past 19 years. She has completed her Masters in Literature from Mumbai University, trained as a Teacher from St. Margarets college, completed the British EBDAH course for special needs alongside many other such courses. Being with young kids reminds her that children can make a difference that no one else can. She was always born to work for special needs children so each day, she learns something new to do her best.
Ms. Lydia Dias is the Faculty Head of Mathematics at Dubai Scholars. She has 28+ years experience of being an educator and teaching mathematics in India and the Middle East. Ms. Lydia truly believes that every child is unique and is blessed with a lot of talents and virtues. She is passionate about her teaching and ensures each and every child of her class is learning. Without doubt, her dedication and commitment is commendable.

He is also an avid public speaker winning quite a few medals both at school and college levels. He is an airline employee by profession and has done well in juggling between work and play and is a perfect example of how one could apply ethics of sports into career. Teamwork, leadership and effective communication are key positives that he drives as learning through sports.

After Dr. Anila completed her undergraduate she did an MBA in Health Care Services from Sikkim Manipal University RAK. Dr. Anila then went ahead to receive an Advanced Diploma in Occupational Medicine from the University of Manchester UK.

The 3rd episode of the Podcast Series 'In Search of A Happier You', presented by Student Council 2020-2021, has been released! The podcast, co-hosted by Ameera Rahman (Head of Performing Arts) and Kushi Balla (Head Girl), features Mr. Aubin Pereira as the Guest Speaker.
Mr. Aubin Pereira is the Faculty Head of Performing Arts at Dubai Scholars, and has been working in music education, aiming to incorporate technology meaningfully, for over a decade. He also runs a podcast, "Utter Rubbish," which attempts to help novice teachers from the Asian subcontinent.

Kris Fade is Virgin Radio’s most prominent personality with his breakfast show titled ‘The Kris Fade Show’, CEO of Fade Fit and Fade Fit Kids, and has won awards for ‘Best Personality’ ‘ Best Radio DJ’ and is on Ahlan! list for the ‘Hot 100 legends’. He has three songs titled, "I'm Famous", "In It For Love" and ‘I woke up like this’, and has performed at various concerts and events including Dubai Music Week and RedfestDXB!
