Hello there, my name is Jake Selway! You most likely don't know a thing about me, or who I am! Fallacy Fringe is a lyrical project that I've been sitting on for a few years! It's spanned nearly two long decades of feelings, and emotions, thrown into a word blender, and this is what the result of that time is. I've always been a storyteller for as long as I can remember putting pen to paper. Ever since I discovered music, and the power it can bring to people - I started writing, and away I went. There is no other outlet quite like it. You can put so much information, and feeling into a few minutes, and it can be stuck with you forever. I aimed to release lyrical gems under a pseudonym, but it just got weird. I went back to being me, and I felt a lot better about it. Now I'm trying something new, and doing it in the traditional Spoken Word way. If you like it, I implore you to share it around. If not, have a nice day!

I wrote this as a tribute to my grandfather, and it's been fitting in the past year, since my great grandma passed away at the tail end of '19. You just never get over the shock of losing somebody in your family. No matter how close or how far apart you are - it's heartbreaking. 12 years on from my grandfather's passing; it's still so raw to me. This year's been tough mentally, but the show must go on! This piece serves as a call to arms to those that feel the same, and is an apocalyptic sight. Perhaps, there was more at play when I wrote it, but I did intend for it to be a sigil of anarchy and chaos against those that continue to oppress up, as we rise to meet our foes face to face. I do hope that The War Within did tell a decent enough story that made sense as a whole. When it came to formulating a creative strategy to tell a story within the lyrics, and organise the first season, or volume of lyrical pieces - it needed some bumps, and great emotional tragedies, and falls along the way - but as the aim for the finish commences, it harkens back to the very beginning of The War Within piece 'Prepare For War' and it symbolises the need to put everything aside to face your inner self and embrace who you are - no matter the cost. There was a much simpler version of this written when in 2005, but I rewrote it 11 years later, and made it a lot better. It was a vengeful piece in many ways, but it became about people who would constantly get themselves in trouble, and not see their actions were hurting them in the process of things. An uplifting piece on inner peace, and finding yourself, while everybody scrambles for a piece of something. It's the survival of youth, and trying to fight your way out of a paper cup, only to find that the storm never goes away. I originally wrote it as my version of Slipknot's Duality, but later found that it needed to be a different thing altogether. I was super obsessed with the band back then, like I am now. I remember writing the original version of this after my high school stint, and it's mostly about being angry at certain people, being forgotten by those certain people, and how now - all those people are dead to you. It doesn't get much more blunt than that. Make of it what you will. Enjoy.
