Timberwolves Cold Takes
Two Minnesota guys talk about the Minnesota Timberwolves over a beer or two somewhere in Minneapolis.
Kyle and Devin are back after the all-star break to talk about a Timberwolves team that remains as consistently inconsistent as ever. With only 13 games left in the season in a bunched up western conference, can the Wolves find enough to get into the playoffs and avoid a play-in game? Or could they even miss the playoffs entirely? Anything is possible with this almost maddeningly talented squad.
Kyle and Devin discuss a team that clings stubbornly to inconsistency, apart from staying right around .500 that is. With a little over half the season in the rear-view and the trade deadline and all-star break rapidly approaching they discuss how the team could change in the next few weeks along with how they see the Wolves stacking up against a bunched up Wester conference.
KAT is out of the lineup, Rudy day-to-day, but the Wolves have Naz Reid. Kyle and Devin talk from the high of a whopping 3-game win streak. Lineup suggestions along with best and worst case scenario building ensues.
Kyle and Devin get into the spirit of the season and are thankful for an extended break since the last podcast; a mix of low-effort losses peppered with enough wins to leave the team back even at 8-8. They play armchair psychologist while dissecting the team chemistry, the maturation process of the team, and roster moves we could make (or not make!) as the season continues.
A study in small sample sizes and a panic meter no longer off the charts. Kyle and Devin talk about a newly 2-1 TimberWolves squad and the anxiety of facing "tanking" teams early in a promising season. The tension between competing now and building a sustainable winner lead to a cold realization about what may be to come.
