This is a podcast for advanced "English Learners" that want to hear Real English in it's daily use from a Real Person. In this podcast, you will not hear anything about grammar, rules of English or any of that classroom B.S. This podcast will cover a variety of topics about life, relationships, films, etc.. The dialouge will be unscripted, but will always start with a main idea. Feel free to share your opinions because I'm about to share mine.. In primary school, we all learned how to separate the squares from the circles and the greens from the browns. In high school, we learned how to separate the jocks from the dweebs and the preps from the outsiders. But...it didn't just stop there...

In today's pour, we take a look at how this learned behavior of overclassifying everything continues to widen the divide between us all.

Imagine a world where a creative work produced by AI has more value than the work of a hand-painted picture from a world-renowned artist. Imagine a world where the song that you spent the last 3 years to write doesn't become popular until some kid remixes your song on Youtube. Imagine that your cultural dance that has meaning and true significance is now just a trendy thing to do for "likes" on Tiktok. Can you imagine such a world?

Welcome to 2023!

In today's pour, we look at the negative impact that social media and AI technology are having on originality. Enjoy!

How many people do you think would willingly flip a switch to alter their reality if it meant that they would be able to avoid having to deal with life on life's terms? How many people do you think would undergo a surgical procedure to permanently block out all of the pain and suffering that they have experienced over the years?

In today's pour, we explore this idea which was inspired by a recent watching of the infamous "Black Mirror" series on Netflix!

As the time on the clock ticks, each day we either move towards or farther away from our goals. The reasons for these movements or lack thereof is largely in part due to the choices we make on a day to day basis. In a given day, a person can make over 10,000 decisions, depending on the complexity of their lives, but even with all of those decisions, only a few of them will make any true difference.

And it is within these pivotal moments of our decision-making process where our future self lies...

In today's pour, we will talk about this "future self" and explore how we can become that which we seek! Enjoy!

From the moment we wake up, until the time we go to bed, we have a tape that plays in our head. This tape...this voice is what colors the way in which we experience the world. If the message on the tape that we listen to is full of negativity and hopelessness than our interactions with others and joy in life will be muted, but if the inner voice that we hear is positive and full of invigorating energy...the sky is the limit!

If you snatch a mirror from the wall and smash it on the ground...what are you left with?  Some may say that you are left with a mess to clean up, but others might say that it's still a mirror that was smashed into a thousand pieces.

Well, if we take the perspective of the latter and believe that each one of those shards or fragments could just be a component of a greater construction...could we say the same thing about people?

If you've spent enough time listening to quality native speakers, you may have noticed a huge difference in "How they read" versus "How you read". One of the biggest differences is that they read with "Edge". It's not enough to just pronounce words, you have to establish a true connection between what you read and what you convey while reading the text. In today's pour, I'm going to demonstrate 4 different levels of reading that can be observed in a language seeker's journey. If you find that one of the examples is similar to how you read, this is fine because it's not a race to the top. You will get there one day and maybe some of you are already there and just don't know it:) So...Grab Your Cup And Let's G.O!

In today's pour, I talk about the bridge that separates a lot of would-be English speakers from those that have achieved their desired level of fluency. This bridge that I speak of is intimidating for a lot of people and continues to be the one of the major reasons that they spend more time than necessary drowning themselves in piles of grammar books and still can't speak English. If you want to get to the other side, you are going to have to embrace these words and implement this concept immediately. Or...You can always go buy another grammar book and dream about using English freely when you're 80 years old! You decide. Now...If you're still with me and are ready to cross the threshold...Let's Go\m/

Today, we talk about a wonderful book that I recently finished titled, "The Fountainhead".  This book was written by Ayn Rand, a rather interesting woman that is well-known in some circles and in others...not so much.  I decided to share this wonderful treasure with you all, due to the manner in which the book is easy to follow and a contains several characters that literally JUMP right off the page.

In the review, I do not spoil the story, but share my thoughts on some of the story's most prominent characters, as well as, discuss how these people will appear to you in real life.

You may have noticed by now that asking the wrong question is not the right way to make a good impression on someone that has spilled their heart out to you.  Knowing what questions to ask and when to ask them is key in building healthy rapport because it shows the listener that they had our "full attention".

In today's pour, we will engage in an exercise of sorts to strengthen our ability to construct questions from any topic based on what we hear.  I have recorded myself asking a variety of questions on several topics to provide you with the chance to "soak-in" how questions can be formed from a multitude of ways.

There will be work to do and those that complete the work will not only strengthen their existing knowledge of English, but be able to use it more effectively in a social situation.

Also, stay tuned for the small bonus at the end!  Enjoy =)
