Grain marketing can be hard, when to pull the trigger, what price, what contract, how much? All these factors can cause a big emotional toll on some. Part of my hope is to help take these things off your shoulder. Forward contracting can be a huge help in being able to lock in some profit. If we know a break-even, locking in the price can help ensure you are able to make money.

This marks the second consecutive month of lower Saudi deliveries to China, despite recent price cuts. Welcome to the Weekly Grain Report, powered by Ag Valley Co-op. Corn: Harvest is in full swing across the U.S., keeping the market steady. Missouri elevators are filling up due to better-than-expected harvests, and Illinois is seeing record crops. Locally, dry corn with good test weights is being reported.Soybeans: The U.S. soybean harvest is putting pressure on the market, but dryness in Argentina and Brazil could impact trends.
Catch the latest WASDE Report insights! This week, USDA cleaned up the 23/24 demand sheets, showing a 40-million-bushel gain in exports and a 15-million-bushel gain in Feed/Ethanol, reducing the carry-out to 1.812 billion bushels.For 24/25, a small gain in corn yield and a 47-million-bushel production increase resulted in a net effect of 16 million bushels to supply. As you plan your fertilizer pricing, consider hedging costs by selling grain. Let's discuss contracting options to protect your bottom line. For beans, the report highlights a bigger crush in 2023/24 and a reduction in 24/25 production, driving a 10-million reduction in 24/25 carryout. Tune in for more details!
