We continue looking at Covenant Theology in part 2, looking at the major covenants of the Old Testament and how they relate to the New Covenant.
We again see David handle the difficulties of his life by casting himself on the mercy of God. In this we see how we should come to the Lord in prayer and what we should be bring to him. But we also see the character of God.
In Psalm 6, we see David cry out and cast himself on the mercy of God. We can do the same. God is our father and he is in complete and total control.
As we look at Psalm 4 this week, we see how and what to pray. But more importantly, we see why we pray.
In Psalm 2, we see the state of humanity in rebellion and opposition to God. God will execute judgement and pour out wrath on those in opposition to him. Yet, he also demonstrates his mercy providing salvation through the Son. Blessed are those who take refuge in the Son.
This week, we begin a series through some selected Psalms by starting with Psalm 1. We will see how Christ and the gospel can be seen in Psalm 1.
We finish up the Gospel of John in John 21, seeing the sovereignty of Jesus and the love of Jesus.
