This DYI podcast is based on a simple idea: we call our friends around the world who are in lockdown. We let them tell their stories of what is happening in their lives during this major disruption of life.

The podcasters are wrapping up season one and talking about how valuable it has been having intentional conversations with friends during the lockdown has. We also get an update on why Sweden isn’t doing very well compared to other Nordic countries and the frustration because of the failing strategies. And lastly, why it makes sense that a second season would be about how we can create change in society.

America is going through a time of internal turmoil and change. In this episode Joel speaks to his good friends Noah and Jamie Stepro living outside of Los Angeles about what’s going on around them. They talk about what it’s like living through Covid-19 as a family of seven, leading a church, American politics, Black Lives Matter and their frustration with white evangelicalism and identity politics in America.
Johan calls yet another friend in Brazil to follow up on the countries covid-19 development - the country now being one of the most affected in the world. With the past weeks growing recognition of racism in America, André explains how the situation is for the black community in Brazil and how the image of the country has changed, but become more true after the election of Jair Bolsonaro as president.
In this episode we shift focus for a couple of minutes and focus on the recent events leading up to protests under the hashtag #blacklivesmatter in a conversation with Edward Thomas.

New York City is one of the most affected cities in the world when it comes to the corona virus. It's hard to imagine how a usually vibrant city is now on hold. Johan talks to his friend Audrey, located in Brooklyn about how life has changed for both of them during these months and discuss the possible ways forward to a new "normal".

Johan talks to his good friend Leo Neves, who lives in São Paulo, the biggest city in South America with a population of over 20 million. With the president of Brazil acting arrogant and ignoring the crisis of the pandemic, Leo explains why the level of uncertainty in the country has suddenly reached a new high point.
They also talk about how the lockdown has effected his life as a business owner, dad and why he’s started to grow plants in his apartment.

Joel speaks to Gracie, a social worker and former art manager in Singapore. They talk about the "circuit breaker" measures in Singapore put in place to curb the spread of Covid-19 and social issues related to that.
Gracie explains how her friends in the arts scene have been coping with Corona and how people have become more reflective and begun to value the simple things in life.

Johan talks to his aunt Jackie in Seattle who tells the story about how the pandemic has effected the US in general and life in her city in particular. She works as a teacher and has been forced to adapt to the new situation very fast by teaching kids over zoom. How is the lockdown affecting children? And how does the future of community, travel and education look like after this change?
