Aoeria started as a solo project for Frank Giliberti, recording/mastering engineer) with studio albums that developed into a live band with Toby Bruzik (one of Long Island's hardest working drummers) and Sharon Binder on keyboards and backup vocals (of Entwined w/Frank). Aoeria debuted at CBGB's in 2006 and has played at venues across the city like The Trash Bar, Arlene's Grocery, Leftfield, and Santos Party House. Aoeria are gearing up for their third album, continuing progress with combining many sounds and styles - from subtle to intense guitar, introspective and observational lyrics, interweaving melodies, all meshed with rhythmic dances and meditations on sounds ranging from acoustic strums to groovy riffs.

Here's a little experiment with a jazzy motif on synthesizer-like sounding guitar over a drum groove recorded 5/22/20
Here's an instrumental guitar & drums demo of a tune we may revist one day. What do you think? Leave comments below!
Take a peek into the woodshed - to work on developing new music I challenge myself to try and make jams that are cohesive, even though I'm just reacting to my own improvised playing. First I play drums and imagine a few different feelings that flow together. Then I'll go on guitar and establish a riff or chord sequence to match the mood of the drumming. Sometimes it devolves into meandering searches for grooves or experiments with sounds. In the good moments, a new idea for a song emerges or an interesting interaction between the instruments that pushes me to keep creating. When I hear something that I think stands on its own I post for the chance it might inspire someone to work on a project or to just have fun in the moment. Free mp3 download. Enjoy!
Frank improvised (or spontaneously composed) this on guitar on June 4, '20 to a drum track recorded May 17, '20. The title is a take on Elevator to the Gallows, the French film noir with an improvised soundtrack by Miles Davis, and is something of an allusion to Reign of Terror after the French Revolution.
