The Kingdom needs men. Men who will build the future, fight apathy and corruption, as well as, worship God passionately will bring the Kingdom of God to earth. And that is the mission.
You are free to choose and fully responsible for your choices. The Father through Jesus had done everything possible to bring you safely home. He has gone beyond even the most extreme limits to declare His love for you. The discovery or ruination of your life is completely your choice.
Disciples of Jesus are wealthy, but wealth isn’t about money, possessions, or idolatry. Wealth is about freedom. Freedom from anxiety and freedom to bless. Jesus’ teachings will free your heart when it comes to spiritual, emotional and financial resources available to you.
Nothing is more powerful than prayer. Our prayers are powerful because of who we are in Christ and who God is in us. Take your prayer life to a new level and you will greatly change your world.
To be or not to be? That is the question! Join us with guest speaker Raphael Sifuentes as we dive deep into the word of God and the questions some of us so often have.
When we wear religious behaviors as a mask to hide our true pain and disconnection, we rob ourselves of freedom and love. We can choose to get real and be healed of our inner brokenness.
Most of us carry anxiety everywhere we go. Stress, anxiety, and fear are not the provision of Jesus' teachings. Peace is our birthright and promise. Our peace is so complete in Christ and from the Father, that we bring peace with us everywhere we go.
We are not always the best version of ourselves. If our fears drive our behaviors, that best version will not show up. When Jesus taught the attitudes and behaviors recorded in his sermon on the Mount, He knew it would only be realistic to those who had leveled up in their belief system from Fear to Love.
Your life will look very differently when you believe in Jesus, God the Father, and the Holy Spirit. Impossible behaviors and compassion become readily available and commonly practiced when we believe.
Patrick Klein from Vision Beyond Borders works very hard to get Bibles and resources to Christians in less accommodating places. His testimonies of God's care and provision are deeply inspiring.
Why Does Easter Matter? We all search for meaning, purpose, and hope. Jesus' resurrection is the ONLY worthy answer for that search. It proves that God Is Love and He is Love FOR You.
Jesus didn’t just ask people to believe in Him. He asked people to follow Him. And, the beginning of the end of the story demonstrates that Jesus lived as He taught. And He taught us to be followers, not merely admirers.
People who were nothing like Jesus, liked Jesus. Jesus was difficult to resist because He loved people who were nothing like Him. Just like His Father. Rethinking Jesus means rethinking terms. It means asking questions like, “Who is my neighbor?” And then taking actions based upon the answer.
Our actions are the only honest indicator of our beliefs. It is our actions that advertise the truth of what we believe. When our actions align with Jesus' teaching and example, our world witnesses the most undeniable proof of His existence, sacrifice, and resurrection.

It is very challenging for modern believers to accept that we have been sent to others. When we learn to embrace our “sentness” we also catch hold of the greatest joys of the Christian faith.
Believers are encouraged to be filled with the Holy Spirit. But, what does that mean? Is it weird? Is it mystical? Or, is it a new kind of ordinary? And, if it is, what IS a new kind of ordinary for people who are dearly loved and greatly enjoyed by God?
You know what you know. And, what you know has gotten you to where you are. BUT, will it take you where you want and need to go? If your marriage could be better, would you be willing to unlearn what you know in order to learn something better?
(Disclaimer: I am about to make a lot of references that are common in most marriages. My goal is not to trigger you, or make you angry or guilty. But to give you hope for something better)
When we follow Jesus, we start a process of growth. In that process, we learn that there are many things we need to unlearn, and much more we must relearn. Do we have enough humility for the process?
Metanoia is so much more than regret for past sins. Once understood and embraced it produces a transformation. Since Jesus began His ministry teaching people about metanoia, it is our joy to understand it as deeply as possible.
Our lives become much more peaceful and clear when we learn to think like Christ. Metanoia is the process of entering into Christ’s thinking, attitudes, and behaviors. Paul called it the “mind of Christ”.
You don’t have to think like everyone else. The way you think will set the course of your life. When you follow Jesus, He Transforms your thinking. So many impossibilities become realities when we learn to follow Jesus and accept His gift of repentance or Metanoia.
The Joys and benefits of Christianity as Jesus demonstrated are so much much better than you realize. Our relationship with Jesus frees us from every oppressive and harmful reality our world presents. Jesus gave us a very practical and powerful path to freedom.
Seek His Face! Often we seek his approval or His acceptance, both of which He has freely extended within Jesus. But, if we learn to seek His Face and Live in His presence, we learn to live the impossible.
Christmas is a difficult time of year for many. It has a way of leaving us disappointed. We build up expectations for a season that can only come from our Father. I want you to experience happiness this year. Enjoy the gifts you have been given. Not the ones in the pretty boxes, the gifts of people, relationships, and experiences.
There is no greater miracle than the miracle of salvation. The greatest story of all time is the story of the Gospel or the Good News. God has made a way to you. Your Father continually makes a way to you and for you. Choose His Way, today.
God never has and never will abandon us. Even when we are at our worst, He still shows up. He comes to deliver, to save, to restore, and to heal.
All that God has created is carefully and anxiously waiting for a revealing. It groans for the Sons and Daughters of God to appear as they really exist. The image of God is filled with the presence, goodness, and authority of God. Learn to embrace that you are becoming God’s Love upon the earth.

We are not seeing things correctly. We are living our lives in the dark, guided by inadequate and incorrect beliefs about God. Let God change your mind.
Will we trust God or will we make our own way? The choice to trust is the way of faith. It leads us from fear and anxiety into peace, joy, and success.
Do you belong with other believers? Belonging has a “look” to it. It is much more than simply stating that you are a part of a group of believers. Belonging is demonstrated with a series of practical actions.
The life of a person with Jesus is one marked by “aloneness”. Even in the midst of a crowd, most feel unknown, uncared for, and outside. When we follow Jesus we release the things that cause loneliness and enter into a relationship and a community where faith, hope, and life thrive!

Love Does… A person who is loved becomes a person who loves. We receive and then we give.
Abide, Remain, don’t wander from this one thing. This is John’s message. It defines everything he shares with us. It is the foundation for your beloved identity.
Jesus is the reason John believed himself to be the beloved disciple. It wasn’t just Jesus' words, but an incredible moment that John almost missed. That even excited and haunted him the rest of his life.
Jesus is very tender with us, as God is very tender with us. In the story of Peter’s restoration, we come to understand Jesus’ patience and kindness. We also discover the power of Jesus in comparison to our own.
Come together as believers for worship, encouragement, and prayer for the purpose of encouraging the Christian community in Rock Springs and Green River.
- We can love and encourage each other regardless of the Shingle over the door.
- We are called and empowered to live like Jesus.
In a world filled with people created in the image of God, ordinary is extraordinary, and extraordinary is mundane.
The Disciple that Jesus Loved was the one closest to Jesus during his trial and condemnation. The Empty Disciple would be dead before the night was done. And the “Effort” Disciple would be in hiding. Today we will call out our imposter and we will love them.
Jesus offers himself. We often desire things. Jesus freely gives things of eternal value. We often prefer things of temporal value. Judas wanted something from Jesus. Was it money, advantage, success, or something else. I can't really know, but I do know that what Jesus was offering, Judas was not receiving. And, that made Judas vulnerable.
The Answer is the Love of God. And, Jesus is the exact representation of the Father who IS Love. In every situation, as we learn to receive, embrace, and enjoy the Love of God, we will overcome.
Every time my Dad and I would finish talking and were about to part ways, he would say, “I am praying for You, Kristi, and your sons, by name,”
The Bible was the most important book in our home. Dad wore out several of them. It has been said that a Bible that is falling apart usually belongs to someone who isn’t. The Bible is the most exciting, life changing, and practical book in the world. It is ready to be enjoyed.
Life will always give you a reason to complain. Most of our prayers are us telling God and others how awful things are. Your new nature doesn’t run that program very well.

As you consider the three aspects of restoring/maintaining relationships (Atone, Attune, Attach) consider the following questions:
- What does the idea of personal Atonement mean to you?
- What does “Taking personal responsibility look like to you?
- If Jesus is our Atonement, then what part does our atonement play in our relationship with Christ?
- In your relationship with Christ and others, what does attunement look like to you?
- What would you say are some of the challenges or distractions of this life that threatens our attachment to God and others?
- Would you say you are attached in your current relationship with God? Do you look forward to spending time with God or is it a chore?
- What is your attachment style? Is it affecting your life today?
When we learn to rest in the midst of difficulty and discomfort, we find great power. Rest is how we build our reserves for great resilience and victory. But, Rest and escape are different things. Learning the difference leads to victory.

The resurrection solves one of history’s greatest mysteries. The fact that Christian churches exist is a phenomenon that defies logical explanation. The reason they do gives everyone a reason to strongly consider putting their faith in Jesus.

True Christianity is building something. It takes work, but it can’t be accomplished by human effort. It takes sacrifice, but how can any sacrifice compare to Jesus’ sacrifice? The purpose of everything we do is to build people.

Going to church is not enough. Assent that Jesus lived, died, and resurrected is not enough. Believing in Jesus is not simply accepting these as facts. Jesus established a baseline for His Disciples to demonstrate real righteousness and real love. The process he used is called discipleship. Are you a disciple?

Gift-giving is a wonderful expression of love and appreciation. And, of course, the Christmas gifts that we share have their roots in the Christmas story. We see the Wise Men giving gifts to Jesus and His Family. But the greatest gift of all is the Gift God has given us in Jesus. By giving us His own Son, God has given us the only Answer that we will ever truly need.

God’s Way and My Way are not the same. It’s hard to put God’s Kingdom first. It’s almost impossible not to worry about the stuff of this world, our wardrobes, our diets, and our needs in general. But that is exactly what Jesus commands us to do. Jesus wants us to live in such a way that the Kingdom can invade our schedule at any time.

Living a kingdom life requires a Kingdom foundation. Jesus gave us just such a foundation. Obeying Jesus isn’t about pleasing God, it’s about working with God’s Plan and Kingdom. When we take Jesus’ words seriously we live as Kingdom Citizens and not merely as church attenders.

- Discuss Luke 6:43-45. What is good fruit? How do we get Good Fruit?
- What are some of the good things that we feed our souls? Some not so good?

Questions * What are some ways that we judge others? Why do you think we make so many evaluations of others? * We know we do not measure up to the standards that Jesus represented. What do you think about that? How do we reconcile that in our thinking? * We may mess up plenty. Christianity was never meant to be a religion. At least, that doesn’t appear to be Jesus’ intention. You have probably heard that it should be a relationship. Partnering to Build Christ’s Church

1 Built On; Built Together
“When the Messiah came, He proclaimed the good news of peace to you who were far away and peace to those who were near. For through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father. So then you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with the saints, and members of God’s household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus Himself as the cornerstone. The whole building, being put together by Him, grows into a holy sanctuary in the Lord. You also are being built together for God’s dwelling in the Spirit.” Ephesians 2:17-22HCSB

2 . Unity Draws the Blessing and Favor of God (Eternal Life)

What are some things that Jesus teaches us that are opposite of what we want to do?
Discuss Proverbs 14:13. How does laughter conceal our heaviness? How do we hide our pain?

Jesus presents hunger as an attitude. Not the hunger that comes from a complaining stomach. He is referring to hunger for justice and righteousness. As believers, we possess a hunger for greater things than this world has to offer.

Jesus often preached on our attitudes. We know because Matthew and Luke both credited Jesus’ sermons with an introduction to attitudes. These attitudes are what make the Kingdom of God function upon the Earth. So, kingdom living requires an attitude adjustment. Jesus began with the attitude of poverty.

Message for Sunday 7/17
In church we frequently hear the word “worship” used as if everyone automatically understands exactly what’s being talked about. As if WE understand what we’re saying when we use it. But do we? Or is the term “worship” kinda vague when we try to define it?
When many people use the word, they seem to be referring to “religious singing and music”, as if worship begins with a downbeat and ends with a final chord.
But the way the Bible uses the word makes it clear that “worship” is more than a song, more than an experience, and more than an armful of warm fuzzies.
Worship is what defines us as human beings.

Our World needs champions. Sadly, popular media generally present champions as demigods of uncommon and exceptional stature. And, we all want a hero who wins, so it sells books and movie tickets. But, it may also rob us of our most important champions. Those ordinary people, who simply refuse to quit.
The story of Christianity does not end with the Resurrection of Jesus. It begins there. Christ’s resurrection opens an entirely new world of possibilities. Jesus called that world “the Kingdom of God”. He told His disciples to wait until they received power from God. Your story is the same as theirs. You will need power to live as a citizen of the Kingdom of God upon this earth.

What if we believed that there is more than enough? If there were MORE than enough, how would that change the way we live and give? We must not agree with our eternal enemy, Satan, that there is not enough. If we do we end up trapped in a rat race, scurrying about trying to get what is ours. We become stingy, frightened, and jealous of the success of others. Does that sound familiar?

We should be good at relationships. Not by doing things like everyone else but by doing things differently. When we “make it weird” we make it better.
The common tools of relationship and communication are gossip, slander, criticism, judgment, anger, lies, and walking away. We could change that by responding with respect, kindness, understanding, and patience. That would make it weird.

Our defining moment as a follower of Jesus Christ is the day we release control of our own destinies and start by trusting Jesus. In that moment, we experience a change of identity. Or, As Mark Twain put it, we find our “why”. Paul described this crucial moment as a transition from a life of distance from God into a life of intimacy with God.

Jesus predicted that he would start a gathering, a movement . . . what we call church. And that
His church would spread all over the earth and outlast the Roman Empire. It would change the world. His prediction must have sounded outlandish to even his closest followers. But here we are, two thousand years later. The Roman Empire now exists only in history books, while Jesus’ gathering is still going strong. The church is the hope of the world because the church is the vehicle by which God is bringing the solution to mankind’s greatest problems: sin, sorrow, and death. And, you’ve been invited to participate.

The good news is we don’t have to bargain with God. Christians believe that God made the first
move. Christians believe that God so loved the world he gave his one and only Son. When you receive that gift by faith, the bargaining ends and the relationship begins. Obedience to God is a voluntary response of gratitude for what he’s given you.

A relationship with God is established through trust. So, what’s the role of rules? The rules are confirmation of—not a condition of—a relationship with God. Evil must be destroyed. An understanding of Jesus that captures only His sacrifice and compassion is a half-truth. Jesus is also God’s Word of Judgement upon all that is evil. In the Old Testament, a prophet named Zephaniah, was used by God to warn His people that they had had lost their way. Instead of pursuing God and helping to shape the culture, God’s people ended up being shaped by the culture in it’s greed, corruption, selfishness, and idol worship. What Does God Want Me To Do?Be Happy? Be Comfortable? To Be Entertained? Paul spent a significant portion of his ministry in jail. All of the Disciples were killed for their faith. (Watch Here) A mission director tells of a Christian Iranian Couple who had the opportunity to come to the US. After several months the wife began to beg her husband to go back to Iran. When he asked her why she would give up her religious freedom to return to the persecution of Iran, she responded, “There is a Satanic lullaby here, and all the Christians are sleepy, and I am feeling sleepy.”

We live in a place where there is never enough. . . money, toys, gadgets, popularity and recently, toilet paper. Everything we want in life comes with a sacrifice. What will you sacrifice to get it? The ever-diminishing kingdom of the world charges more and more for less and less.

Jesus’ death was part of an incredible plan of redemption. God’s plan will grant forgiveness to all who repent, believe and follow Jesus. There is only one way to become a disciple of Jesus. Lay down your agenda, life, control and take up His cross. If you are not living as though Jesus is Lord of your life, it’s time to fix that. Today’s Altar is that of forgiveness. Will you receive it? Then let go of what fills your heart so that there is room for this pervasive forgiveness.

Part 2 of 3 - The An Old Path to a New Day Series
We have all likely worked for (or lived with) someone who didn't just want something done, but they wanted it done theirway. It’s also likely that the situation presented some definite challenges to overcome. The same was true with Jesus and His disciples. Jesus lived in an entirely different way. Followers of Jesus, or disciples, must learn to live His way. That is what Jesus meant in:
Matthew 16:24 (NLT) Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If any of you wants to be My follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross, and follow Me.
Jesus invites us into His Kingdom which is far different than the place many of us reside. Today we will talk about how that different Kingdom produces a different way of living.
In your spiritual life as well as in your physical life, you will have to make a choice; we can choose to go God’s way, or we can choose to go our own way. Repentance is the path that leads to salvation and is something that God requires of every human being.

Last we talked about how to love praying. We know It is a fight to remember to pray and keep praying, but persistence is worth it.
Jesus Often Spoke of Persistence in Prayer.
In Luke 11 we find a review of the Lord’s prayer or the “model prayer”. Then, Jesus teaches the disciples to pray with persistence using the Parable of the Friend in Need (Persistent Neighbor). At midnight, a man asks his neighbor for bread to feed a friend. But It’s midnight, and friendship (while great) only goes so far. Jesus said friendship will probably not be enough. But, shameless persistence will get you what you need. Especially considering that Father’s intentions toward you are far greater than friendship.

It doesn’t take a degree to change a life. Many of us believe that we are not qualified to serve in church. However, it doesn’t take a Bible scholar to teach kids in kids’ church. You don’t have to have barista experience to make coffee for Sunday services. You don’t even need a degree in theology to lead a small group.
Consider what it means to serve. Serving isn’t just for the Pastor, or the Missionary, or the church leaders. In fact, the Bible says everyone is called to serve God. Serving isn’t about how much I can do, what I do, or how I do it.
Serving isn’t what saves me; there isn’t enough that I can do to earn God’s glory. Serving isn’t about us at all. It’s about our relationship with God and leading others to Him.

The Bible does not merely contain the words of God, it isthe Word of God. What have you done with the Word of God? Words on a page are just words until you let the power of the Holy Spirit show you the meaning and action behind those words. Sometimes you must read and reread a passage to gain understanding. Have you ever read a passage and it has meaning for you, then come back later and read the same passage and you have a whole new understanding? That is because it is active, alive and powerful! God doesn’t want to leave you floundering in this life, He has a great plan for you and can help you through His Word. Being in the will of God seems out of reach, but staying in step with Him creates peace and rest in your life.

Don’t live life trapped in the mundane. We often hear statements like, "If it's good it won't last." And, "Things will never change." These kinds of hopeless statements put us in a survival mode. Jesus bore the penalty of sin and dying in our place. God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins having canceled the charge of our indebtedness, which stood against us and condemned us; He has taken it away, nailing it to the cross. God will never see believers in Christ as deserving the death penalty because our crimes have already been punished in the physical body of Jesus. In order for us to be saved, Jesus had to take our place and die for sin. He had to lay down His life as a sacrifice, because without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness. His sacrifice was perfect in holiness, in worth and in power to save.

Daniel chapter three tells the story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. These men withstand unbearable pressure to go along with the status quo when their government was very much in the wrong. The stand they took ended in their intended execution by burning, but the fire they were thrown into revealed their true protector instead.
God is the Commander. We are the Warriors. It doesn’t take very much research in the Bible to discover that God is AWESOME at winning battles. It never seems to matter how strong or skilled the warriors, only that God is the commander.

The Joshua generation entered the Promised Land in the same way the nation of Israel exited Egypt, through a miraculous parting of the waters. Once In The Promised Land, they affirmed their Covenant with God through circumcision and then celebrated the Passover. In Joshua 5:9, the Lord told them that the shame of Egypt was finally rolled away. Their parents’ generation were born in slavery but they had never been slaves. They were ready to be Warriors.
The story of the Joshua generation teaches us that it is not enough to leave something behind but we must also enter into God's promise. This is a key change of thinking in our Biblical Christian worldview.

Have you ever doubted or questioned that the moral guidelines given by God are still relevant today?
Many people believe that there are many codes and morals to live by, but as Christians, we accept and believe the morals given by God through the scriptures. All Christians should agree that the Bible is the standard of truth for Christians. Since it is, then obviously, the way to see if something is true is to see if it lines up with the Word of God. Each Christian has the responsibility to prove everything they hear by the Word and by the witness of the Holy Spirit to its truth. We believe and understand intellectually these rules, but following those rules are challenging because of our fallen and sinful nature. Unless we recognize, understand and strive to follow the morals handed to us by God, we are destined to follow the sinful desires of our own sinful nature.

So, count the cost because freedom does have a price. In most cases, we will find better relationships with our friends, spouse, boss, or children BUT there is a risk. Not everyone chooses to grow when given the opportunity. We may lose friends. Our marriage could go through some difficult times. Our children may not like us, and may not respond as we thought they would. And, we may have to learn to deal with some aloneness, find a new job, and even make new friends. We often try to “tell” people things and they resent us for it. (Proverbs 9:8). They would learn far more quickly by simply experiencing their own consequences. All relationships have their challenges but because marriage has the power to be our most significant relationship, it also has the potential to present very serious challenges. WE learn from the Bible that Jesus overcame our sin, that we are free, and that we are the sons and daughters of God! And, we now possess OVERWHELMING Victory in Christ!
