This episode we are leaving the Automotive towers and going out to the deserts of Botswana to record a special tribute episode to the end of the Clarkson, Hammond and May era.
After the release of One for the Road, Chris and Marty look back on the past and present of the work of Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May, with the impact they have had on car media. This also references the Q&A Clarkson did following a screening of One for the Road at his pub.
We also look at the future of the Grand Tour, following Jeremy's comments about what he would like to see.

Chris and Marty list their top 5 favourite cars in movies, discuss why they haven't seen two fo the biggest films of the summer yet, and Marty declares that rubbin' is racin' after watching NASCAR: Full Speed on Netflix.
But first, Youtube have upped the stakes in their war on ad-blockers by introducing adverts in line to videos. James May has recorded his last piece of voice over for the Grand Tour, says next special is out in September, and that is probably it for him in the car world. The F1 movie will be out June 2025! Marty has watched NASCAR: Full Speed on Netflix and rates it highly as a gateway to a world of racing he knew little about.

Our episode picks lost all discipline this month, as Autoalex has picked up the cheapest - and possible worst - Ferrari 360 that Jeremy Clarkson once sat in. Equally the Top Dead Centre boys bought a very cheap, Max Power-era show car which can with interesting mods and even more interesting merch. However at the other end of the scale Horsepower Hunters went in-depth on the HWA 190 Evo not restomod in glorious nerdy detail!

Inspired by the Collecting Cars podcast, we picked our desert island YouTube clips to watch over and over. Despite a whole list of amazing videos, Marty went with Henry Catchpole driving an Aston Martin N430 Vantage on the old Military Road. Chris went even further back to Chris Harris driving an F1 car in the near freezing cold at Silverstone and part 2. A great example of Chris putting the viewer vicariously in the experience, including having Martin Brundle on hand to help.

However, we couldn't avoid talking about Red Bull's challenge to build a drone that can keep up with an F1 car, which may change the way we see Formula cars on the limit. It's deeply impressive and looks like a flying dildo.

But first in the news, the Oscars of our world - the Motor Film Awards - have their nominations announced. Michael Mann's Ferrari has released a first trailer and we wonder; can Adam Driver really become Enzo?
Chris and Marty both watched the twinned stories of Mansell and Williams in Red 5. Marty has also been watched B is for Build do boats, Ratarossa and SamCrac rebuilding a slightly charred F430, and some idiots doing bad stuff to a Ferrari. Chris broke out a podcast of Toto Wolff on Desert Island Discs, lots of Daily Driven Exotics (and their half hour of daily content!) and Chris Harris monstering the Tuthill 911K.
Our review for this episode is Gran Turismo. I missed watching Oppenheimer in IMAX for this.

Chris and Marty are back! In this episode, we talk about the new F1 movie and its fake Apex Racing team, there's a mini-review of the latest Mission Impossible movie and Chris looks at 2018's Driven film about Jim Hoffman and John DeLorean.

The Fast franchise is back with Fast X, and we're here with our review of the craziest Fast movie yet. We also talk diggers, Monaco TV and rubbish pick up trucks that made it to the UK.
But first we discuss the development of the Dunsfold site, otherwise known as the Top Gear test track. Gran Turismo has a trailer out with the film following soon. F1 has taken over production of the Monaco Grand Prix from TMC, and the next Grand Tour adventure - Eurocrash - is coming out June 16th!
Since the last episode, we've both been enthralled by Tavarish salvaging a McLaren P1, the great Nurburgring 24h live stream, and after Steve Sutcliffe voiced his opinion that the McLaren F1 is overrated, some classic Best Motoring featuring an F1 group test that rather backs up his theory. Chris also raises some interesting tips from The Photographer's Eye about how to get the best out of YouTube for viewers.
For our review this episode, it has to be Fast X. Be warned, there is a spoiler section ahead!
In 'What has Henry Catchpole been upto this week?', he's been taking a ride in the brain scrambling McMurtry Spieling fan car!
For their YouTube picks, Chris went with one from TJ Hunt where he and his crew unpack a BMW Motorsport GT3 body kit, and all giggle like kids at Christmas. For his channel he went with the Nurburgring 24 Hour, which not only hosted live streams of the race, but quickly cut some beautiful highlights packages to aid the fan engagement.
Marty picked F1 sharing the whole Imola Grand Prix from 2005, but as we recorded F1 had pulled it (Although it's still on the excellent F1 TV) and instead he went for the soggy 2008 Monaco Grand Prix which Matt Bishop recently said he thought was one of Lewis's greatest drives. Finally, no mention of Best Motoring can pass without recommending it as the rabbit hole of unique motoring fun it is!

He also highlighted the FIA WEC Youtube channel who are posting race replays as well as their highlights packages!

But first, B is for Build has posted a carefully worded summary of the court cases surrounding licensing for Eleanor builds. Girardo and Co and Fiskens are selling cars in Paris connected to the movie Le Mans, and Johnny Herbert and Paul di Resta are no longer presenting on Sky F1.
Since the last episode Marty tried watching the Lamborghini movie and it didn't go well, Mat Armstrong is trying to rebuild a 992 GT3 and Mighty Car Mods are literally overnighting parts from Japan.
Chris enjoyed the behind the scenes look at broadcasting the 2021 British Grand Prix on F1 TV, but it was this video from JayEmmoncars that sparked the question of what viewers can do to help support YouTube creators they like. The big takeaways were:
- The best thing you can do is personally share and recommend videos. This helps creators find like minded viewers and will help grow their audience.
- Listen to creators. If they are pushing their merch, Patreon, brand sponsors or other sales, this is them telling you how their business is supported.
- Liking, commenting and subscribing may be a cliche, but it does help. By subscribing to channels, it does help them find sponsors and set rates accordingly.

For our reviews we compare Death Race 2000 (1975) and Death Race (2008).
In What Has Henry Catchpole Been Driving This Week? He ended his Carfection run with a sublime Ferrari 550 Maranello video, highlighting just what a brilliant car that is. He also drove the McLaren Mercedes SLR HDK by MSO, which was a wonderful bit of rare groove automobilia!
For our picks, Chris went for Mercedes F1's Las Vegas demo run as a flex of 360 camera tech, while his channel was Donut Media (again), especially the High Car/Low Car challenges.
Marty excavated a wonderful documentary about Thrust SSC from Archive.org for his pick, while the channel could only be Hoonigan.
