This weekly podcast seeks to teach and defend the historic, evangelical and reformed Christian faith in an increasingly post-Christian culture.
In this episode, we begin by interacting with a youtube comment from our last video. Then we dive into the topic of the Five Solas of the reformation. We read through a section from "Reformed Systematic Theology" by Joel Beeke and Paul Smalley. Enjoy.
In this episode we begin to walk through a graphic made by monergism.com called A Guide to Reformed Theology. We being with the item under core beliefs called "A High View of God" which teaches God is sovereign and actively governs all things according to His Will.
We read a chapter from Loraine Boettner about the providence of God, look at the Belgic confession and look a few scriptures.
In this episode I walk through my history of discovering reformed theology, with all the books and influences that guided it. We briefly discuss the history of the YRR movement and where it is today.

In this episode, I respond to comments made on a recent video posted by @TheProvisionistPerspective where they respond to Chris Date's response to Braxton Hunter asking him to respond to non-calvinist proof texts! :) My concern here isn't necessarily to defend calvinism per se, but to caution that the desire to come against "determinism" in Calvinism can push one to the other extreme and end up denying key elements of the gospel. In this episode, we continue our review of the John 6:44 debate between Flowers and White. We finish up Dr. Flowers opening statement, and look at his use of John 10, John 3 and his understanding of how John 6:45 and his interpretation of it is to be read back into the entirety of John 6:35-44.

In this new episode of our study of the book of Romans, we introduce a very important but very difficult section of Romans: chapters 6 and 7. Here we lay the groundwork for future episodes, by talking about the relationship of these two chapters, looking at Paul's understanding of the role of the Law, and talking about the difference between the indicative and the imperative.
In this episode, I review parts of the video released by American Gospel, where Sam Storms and Michael Brown have a conversation with Jim Osman and Justin Peters on the topic of the charismatic movement and if the leading figures are false teachers or if they are headed for hell.
Both sides make several good points, but the conveersation also goes off the rails at points. This is an excellent opportunity to discuss what the "foundational" doctrines of the Christian Church are, what accountability in the local church should look like, and how the internet and Youtube have created the wild west of doctrine and practice.

In this episode I begin with some comments about the "online world" of theology and apologetics. Then we continue our study through the book of Romans. We walk through this passage and define the terms and show what all who are "in Adam" recieve from Adam and we also look at what all who are "in Christ" recieve from him. We also read a passage from The Discipline of Grace by Jerry Bridges on the federal headship of Adam and Christ, and set the stage for the next part of Romans, chapters 6-7.
We continue working through an article written by Christopher Bounds entitled "How Are People Saved? The Major Views Of Salvation With a Focus On Wesleyan Perspectives And Their Implications" . In this episode we finish up our discussion of Semi-Pelagianism and read some quotes from a Semi-Pelagian leaning (according to Bounds) writer in the Wesleyan tradition. Then we start to cover Semi-Augustinianism, and take a deep dive into the concept of "prevenient grace", which is, according to Bounds, the key distinctive of this view. We then read from Roger Olson's book "Arminian Theology: Myths and Realities", and see what he has to say about prevenient grace. Enjoy!

In this episode ,we continue our verse by verse study of the book of Romans and we look at the controversial question of what it means that death spread to all men, "because all sinned". What does this phrase mean? Does it simply mean that all humans born from Adam inherit a sin nature and will eventually sin and die? Or is there something more Paul is saying here? In this episode, we continue where we left off in part one of the Person of Christ, and continue this glorious section where Owen argues that Jesus is the full and compelte revelation of the Glory and Person of the Father. He further argues that Jesus is the fulfillment of the 2nd commandment, and that Jesus is the image of the Father, that the Father Himself sent into the world through the incarnation.
In this episode, we look at Calvin's understanding of the tree of life as a sacrament. He connects the tree of life to the Lord's supper and shows how the tree of life did not have anything inherent in it that made us live forever, but it was a sign and symbol of the life they already had.
In this episode, we continue our verse by verse study of the Book of Romans. We cover the faith of Abraham, and how Paul looks at the Justification of Abraham as evidence that he was Justified by faith "apart" from works. We look in detail at Genesis 15 and the promise made to Abraham and the covenant God entered into with him.

Dr. White asked "What is biblicism according to Dr. Barrett? Well, I recently purchased Dr. Barrett's new book and while reading came across a page where he defines biblicism in 6 points. We go over this definition and conclude that Dr. White is NOT a biblicist, but do admit that many in Big Eva are.

We look at the day of atonement in Leviticus 16 and the sin of the Israelites in Numbers 25 to explain that atonement means to turn away wrath, and propitiation means a wrath absorbing subsititue.

In this episode we continue to work through "The Reformed Doctrine of Predestination" by Loraine Boettner. We start working through chapter 10, which is entitled Total Inability.
In this episode, I am preparing for a upcoming live stream where Derek Murrell and I will be discussing the "I" in the PROVIDE acrostic. I play some of Dr. Flowers videos where he explains the role of the Holy Spirit in salvation and how he talks about the means being sufficient in and of themselves to bring about the result God wants. In this episode, we discuss how the American Church needs to quickly understand that the pragmatism of the recent decades has mislead us into thinking that God is only glorified by big numbers and positive response to the message of the Gospel. In reality, God is also glorified when no one responds. What Glorifies god is when His truth is proclaimed, even if nobody responds positively, and even if everyone hates the message and attacks it. In this current direction of our culture, we need to learn this more than ever.

I have to admit, and some of my reformed friends will make fun of me, that I do listen to KLOVE! And I also admit that I really like a few songs that the band Hawk Nelson put out there. So I was disheartened to hear that their lead singer came out publicly and said he no longer believes in God.
As we hear more and more stories of "deconversion" from the Christian faith among christian leaders, we need to be able to carefully and thoughtfully discern what leads to these things. Mr. Steingard wrote a detailed telling the reasons why he says he no longer believe in God, and this post mainly deals with His doctrine of God and His doctrine of Scripture. And unfortunately, these are the two main doctrines that are so woefully lacking in the discipleship of youth and the preaching in American Evangelical churches.
