Sit back, and relax while you join our host, Steve, as he reviews and rates movies old and new. There will be horror, there will be comedy, there will be nostalgia and there will be streaming options.
Lyvia's House is a mystery-thriller that will arrive to many streaming services on October 1st.
Once again I was pleasantly surprised by the overall quality of this film and I'm hoping you'll give a shot at supporting this lower budget film yourself.
Lyvia's House is about many things, but at the heart of it is a murder mystery where our protagonist is not sure who she can trust in this unfamiliar place.
As always, thanks!
Voice of Shadows is a horror mystery that will arrive to many streaming services on September 17th.
I was lucky enough to receive a streamer for this movie and was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed it and I hope that after checking out this review you might give it a chance yourself.
Voice of Shadows is about a young man, Gabriel, who tries to prevent his traumatic past from repeating itself when his girlfriend inherits an estate where she must abide by certain stipulations in order for the deal to go through. When Gabriel refuses he finds himself amidst danger and at the footsteps of a mysterious cult.
As always, thanks!
June of 2020: I revealed my ranking of the entire Friday the 13th franchise and we covered my favorite (part VI) and least favorite (part VII) movies on that list.
June of 2021: I began our journey, start to finish, of the franchise by reviewing parts I and II.
June of 2022: We took a trip to the third dimension with part III.
June of 2023: The franchise comes to an end w/ "The Final Chapter"... or does it?
June of 2024: IT DOES NOT...
Enter Friday the 13th Part V: A New Beginning. With the success of The Final Chapter it takes no time at all for the studio to green light another film and with continuity being such an important factor to this franchise, how will they handle their star slayer being dead?

Enter Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter. The franchise takes a stab at an epic conclusion by hiring a big name actor like Corey Feldman, nabbing up a big up and coming star in Crispin Glover and, securing the talents of Kimberly Beck who, surely, was a recognizable face at the time.
Generally, "The Final Chapter" is regarded as the height of the franchise - so, it would appear their epic conclusion was a success. Do I feel the same?

There's a pretty good variety of options coming out this February. I'm not so sure there's a home run in the bunch but a few well loved shows (new seasons) should give fans something good to chew on at least!

The epic final conclusion, where Laurie and Michael face off in a final battle of wits! It's finally here folks and boy is it divisive!
I do give a spoiler warning towards the end of the review before I get into a little bit of talk that could give away a few big things about the movie.
I hope you enjoy and Happy Halloween Season!!
HAPPY HALLOWEEN MR. FALCONS. Netflix brought it for Halloween and there are some good pics across most other services as well.

Just letting you know I'm not, not uploading (AKA, I am) to this channel anymore.
There will be continue to be a sparse amount of uploads for the time being; hopefully not forever. This is something that I enjoy doing and I hope other enjoy listening to my work. So, for as long as I can afford to keep this available, I will. Money's tight but it's not super expensive either.
I'll do my best to get a couple of reviews in to end this year!
Thanks for everything and I did speak on a little bit of content in this episode :)
July feels surprisingly light on big name new content outside of Netflix but there are still a few sure fire options (across the rest of the board) dependent upon personal tastes.

Enter Friday the 13th Part III. After laying some of the groundwork in Part II, Part III cements the route in which the franchise would go in the future. I entered this disco floor with plans to get my groove on with the confidence of John Travolta in Saturday Night Fever; unfortunately, Tobey Maguire in Spider-Man 3 would have been a better expectation for this dance.
After taking a small step forward from Part I, will the third movie continue taking steps forward or will it take a step back before we reach the (generally regarded) height of the series in episode IV?

New to Netflix, earlier this year, was a movie that did things to me. It made me feel again, it awoke Cynical Steve and unleashed him onto some of the movies you can find in the most recent episode of, "Messin' With Media".
It was this movie or, maybe, it was the thought of watching 4 or 5 Hallmark style X-mas movies that did it... regardless, beware before entering if you want to keep your Christmas spirit wholesome and pure.
If there is one thing that brought me the most cheer this holiday season, it was the masterfully done song that I stumbled upon, incredibly quickly, while looking for the perfect Christmas song (for the purposes of this review) that I feared did not exist. Thank you FreeMusicArchive.org, you're my hero. I recommend sticking around through the end to listen through, I'm not a metal head but you have to appreciate how well this band butchered so many classics in one song... proper attributions below:

Tis' the season of Hallmark Christmas Classics. We all hate them, some of us watch them. I decided to take one for the team and sifted through a few cheesy Christmas movie options along with a couple of non-Hallmark options. (I apologize for the lengthier episode...)

In 1996 the world was treated to the move length commercial from Warner Brothers, Space Jam.
In 2021, the world will once again be graced by a movie length advertisement in Space Jam: A New Legacy.
Today I take a look back at what got us here in a full length review of Space Jam. Despite the cynicism, is it a good movie? Does it withstand the test of time? Should you re-watch it before seeing the new movie? Should you even see the new movie (probably not but I'll have a kwik-review on that soon!)?

Join me as I review and rate what is essentially a re-imagining of the first movie. Part 2 is the black sheep of the franchise. But does that mean it's a bad movie; should it be slashed out of your viewing session for Friday the 13th?

The follow up to the 1995 box office smash hit, Mortal Kombat, Mortal Kombat: Annihilation would try to take advantage while the iron was still hot; in 1997. Did they create a quality movie? Was it better than the first? Is it worth a watch? These questions and more will begin to be explored in this episode with more detail to follow in pt 2.
I'll give some of my own thoughts while we look through the internet for it's consensus thoughts and any interesting factoids surrounding the production of MK 2.

I went on a search for a gem we could all enjoy over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. Thinking Disney always has the holidays covered, I thought I'd begin my search on Disney+.... I found something.
This 90's "classic" has some nostalgic value, it's a holiday movie (with a hip-hop themed soundtrack), and it stars both Jonathan Taylor Thomas and Jessica Biel.
What else could you ask for? I've got a few ideas, but I hate to get greedy this time of the year; so why don't you just join me and determine for yourself if you could ask for more or if this is just the spark you'll need between left-overs, family (or lack of family) chatter, and sports.

Join me as I look at a cult-classic slasher flick that has made its rounds through the horror community, "Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon". Part comedy, part horror, and part mockumentary makes for an interesting and educational parody of the slasher genre in film.
Is this lesser known movie worth a viewing for the average audience goer? Let's find out together!

Join me as I take a deep dive into, not only, the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle movie; but also, the turtle franchise and my history with it. Quick reminder, you can use my earmarks to skip to the segments of the show you most enjoy if you wish. I take the time to enter those for you.
Excuse the length, it's my birthday episode ya jerk. If there was ever a franchise from my childhood that meant something to me; this is it. So please come along with me on this nostalgic renaissance as we look into a classic from the past, kicking off the 90's with this bossa nova of a hit which took the film industry by storm.

Come along with Hayley and I as we get delirious (intoxicated much?) while looking at all 1 million questions the science fiction-horror, that took the Covid-19 world by storm in late March of 2020, Netflix's "The Platform". After an hour and a half of recording we found ourselves only 15 minutes into the movie; whether you love this movie or don't; it's clear that it presents a lot of questions about society as a whole and the individuals within it. Settle in and enjoy the discussion about this beautiful and horrifying film debut from director Galder Gaztelu-Urrutia.
Did Hayley and I like the film? Did we give it good reviews? Just like the movie, these are questions that I'm not sure get fully answered ... nonetheless; we do discuss, rate, drink, and have a few laughs along the way.

Join me as I take the quirky ride that is, What About Bob?; a largely forgotten gem from the early 90's. It's an atypical typical movie with talent brimming from its edges with stars like Bill Murray, Julie Hagerty, and Richard Dreyfuss. What About Bob? is a can't miss movie, so join me as I rate and review this Touchstone classic.
Did I rate it too high?

Apology part A, for releasing my previous episode late. I'll quick talk about a show I've gotten half way through, on Netflix. Letting you know if it's worth your time or not. AND MORE
Is Warrior Nun worth a watch?

I will walk through this pile of a movie offering up commentary, analysis, some insight's (into what NOT to do when making a movie), and improvements that could have made this movie much, much more enjoyable.

In this episode we will be going over Steve's rankings of the Friday the 13th movie series. Friday the 13th is the last of the big 3 (Nightmare of Elm Street, Halloween, and Friday the 13th) to catch his eye and turn him into a fan.
The perfect series for an early summer spook. We'd love to hear your opinion of Steve's list or your own top 10; you can let reach out via our Twitter account: twitter.com/ExtremeMovie

Come join us as we go for a journey with elven brothers, Ian and Barley Lightfoot. After, Hayley and I will rate and review this Disney film. Looking at all of the elements of film making as well as simply talking, as you and your friends might, about what you just watched. Onward is a heartwarming, animated film about family and self-confidence... did Disney make another classic for the ages; or will this movie be forgotten by 2021?
