The job of the church is to be the church of Jesus Christ and show the world another way of living. We aren’t God, and we are at our worst when we forget that. We have a life and a world that is a gift to us and for us, but not from us. We […]

Sabbath is one of the best gifts from God that far too often we don't even open. It reminds us that we are more than what we do and we are not in slavery to our jobs or our culture. To begin to reap the joy and flourishing it brings, we must trust God enough to let the week's work be done, even when it's not. Talk with the people in your closest circle this week about the practice of sabbath and how you can incorporate it into your weekly rhythm.
Long before humans saw the body as biological, it was theological. It tells a story, and it is the story of God. Join us as we continue this series exploring what it means to be human and how we live into the goodness God has in store for us.
This transformative Wednesday Night study will focus on deeper levels of spiritual formation by helping us learn how to follow the ways of Jesus and do what He did.
Welcome guest speaker, Caleb Kaltenbach! Caleb, the research pastor at Shepherd Church in Los Angeles and founder of The Messy Grace Group.
Do you ever give much thought to the theological nature of your body? For 2,000 years followers of Jesus have proclaimed that we are all made in the image of God and that the story of who we are, and who God is, is told through our bodies. Join us as we begin this new […]
On this special Sunday we will take a look at how we’ve been FOLLOWING JESUS, BUILDING BRIDGES and MAKING DISCIPLES since launching the reNEWall ten-year vision last April. We will celebrate together how we have seen God move and look forward to what is coming next.
One of the most divisive regularly scheduled events in America happened just a few weeks ago: the Superbowl Halftime Show. Maybe you noticed that a lot of friends and family loved it and a lot of you ummmm… didn’t. And some of you didn’t know who those entertainers even were! Why does music have the power it does in our hearts? How can it both delight and enrage us? God made us to love and create and appreciate beauty, but beauty is in the eye of the be-hearer. This is especially pertinent to Churches in America. What happened in Superbowl Sunday also happens every Sunday across the country. It’s easy to baptize our particular opinions on worship, “They are just stuck in their ways and not open to the Spirit” or “They’re just singing Jesus is my boyfriend and the same shallow seven words on repeat.” But the truth is that every generation must learn humility and generosity for each other’s worship language. This generation’s Hillsong will be the next generation’s “Gaithers.”
Dr. Cliff Ganus has spent a lifetime studying and presenting on the history of church singing and worship practices. Join us at PV for the next three weeks as we try to understand why music touches us so deeply and what Christians in generations past have done to worship together. If we are going to attempt to go against the culture and be an intergenerational church we need to learn where we’ve been and how to get where we’re going… together.
Guest speaker, Bob Turner. Bob is the lead minister for the White Station Church of Christ-Iglesia de Cristo in Memphis. He attended Harding University, Harding School of Theology, and the University of Illinois. He and his wife Andrea have two daughters, Julia and Kathryn.

Why study a book about Jesus written by one of the most despised, irreligious people of his day? Because Matthew was transformed by Jesus and he left us this little book to us how we can change too.
Sooner to later we all realize that we can’t make lasting change by ourselves. But the good news of Matthew says we don’t have to! Jesus is not just a historical fact, He’s a living reality to be encountered who can help you live a better life.
In Matthew, Jesus asks us to be self-aware, to consider our habits, and make sure we are attending to this one precious life that God has given us.
This is a series about change and sooner or later we all realize we can’t change by ourselves. But the good news of Matthew says we don’t have to. Jesus is not just a historical fact, He’s a living reality to be encountered and He can change your life.
The gospel of Matthew is written for sinners, by a sinner. Matthew’s life changed drastically when He met Jesus and yours can too.
Join us as we continue this series on the Gospel of Matthew, focusing specifically on Chapter 7, verses 15-20.

A new series on the Gospel of Matthew begins today! For thousands of years, Jesus followers have remembered the season when Jesus entered the world and changed everything. And for hundreds of years, we have called that season Advent. Time has taken its toll on this season and many times we just end up spending […]
