“State of Emergency,” is a 5-part series investigating natural disasters, response and recovery. It’s produced by Carnegie-Knight News21, a national multimedia reporting project produced by the nation’s top journalism students and graduates. This year, 37 journalism students travelled to 25 states and 2 territories, examining, among other things, how local and federal agencies respond to communities devastated by disasters. They also interviewed hundreds of victims, survivors and first responders from affected communities.
When disaster strikes, it’s time to take cover or seek shelter. In this episode, you’ll hear what happens when that shelter becomes home.
