This week, Pastor Andrew Gardener preaches on growing as a church and how we can grow as Christians by serving others as Jesus taught us to. From looking at Ephesians 4-11, we learn about forgiving those who wronged us and confronting them in order to forge a loving peace rather than turning to religious leaders to solve our quarrels.

Jon Langford talks about grace and how its the gift from God and how he reaches out for us even if we’re in a state of sin because of his amazing grace and how grace is always there but you have to be willing to take it because grace is an undeserved love that is given so freely and even we where distant from God, Jesus came and died for us. Paul says “and God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realm in Jesus Christ”.
On the Baptisms of Evan, Ollie, Sam, Katie and Richard, Mike Cocklin preaches on the importance of our baptisms and how they bring us into our new lives in ministry to Jesus. He reminds us of the importance of Repentance, and how we must leave the old world of evil behind us. He uses Matthew 3: 13-15, Matthew 28: 18-20, Acts 2: 22-24, 36-38, 40-41, Romans 6: 3-4, colossians 3: 1-5.
Upon returning from his sabbatical, Pastor Pete Godfrey preaches on our habit of “filling every moment” with various tasks which may not be the best for us and leave us feeling like there’s something missing. He discourages us from this behaviour and encourages us to spend time with God our shepherd in order to find true rest. He references Psalm 23 in his sermon.
This week Pastor John Townley preaches on the value of Encouragement by reading into the story of David and how he was faced with despair, yet found strength in the Lord his God. We learn that despite the difficult circumstances that we will inevitably face in life, we will always be able to receive our courage and strength from the Holy Spirit who is always alongside us.

Pastor Pat Herron from Northern Ireland preaches on the importance of the heavenly father and she speaks out against an orphaned spirit. She reminds us that our mission is not to strive and work for God’s approval and that it is to live in the freedom God has given us to be his children. She uses Matthew 3:13 – 4:11 in her sermon along with many other bible references.
James Greene preaches on the importance of The Church – God’s chosen people – and how we are the standard for which non-Christians view God. With reference to the book of Acts and even Wonder Woman, he talks about how in a world of hatred and evil, as a community in Christ it is our responsibility to show the world what it can be, by living as the world should be. Not for any gain of our own, but to offer choice to a world that needs it.
Guest speaker Mike Faun talks about the conflict of deception he uses the bible verses Joshua 9:3-6, Ephesians 6:12-13. He reminds us to put on the full armour of God so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground. and you need to ask yourself these questions from Job 15:8 “Do you listen in on God’s council? Do you limit wisdom to yourself?”
On the dedication of Mary Rose Vosper, Pastor John Townley preaches on the steep inclines that we face in faith and walking in obedience to God through these periods as children of God to overcome these hardships. He reminds us that it is not always easy to walk in faith with Jesus but also reminds us that Jesus went through the same steep inclines that we face. He refers to Hebrews 5:7.
Pastor Pete Godfrey talks about being set free and being honest with how you feel and trusting God and he will make it right but you have to be patience. He encourages us to receive God’s grace and to not be discouraged by God’s call to be patient because he has a better plan for you. He refers to 2 Corinthians, Exodus 34:6-7 and Luke 15:8.
Mike Cocklin talks about how we’re all children of God and he wants to be the perfect father and guide us in our lives to make the right decisions. he reminds us of the journey God wants to take us on and uses these bible verses in his sermon: Psalms 68:5-6, Isaiah 64:8, Matthew 6:8 and Matthew 18:4.
Pastor Pete Godfrey talks about how being part of the Church means that you’re part of the body of Christ, reminding us that each part of the body is just as important as each other. He calls us to look at the big picture and make sure that our piece of the puzzle is missing. He references Corinthians 12.
This week Pastor John Townley preaches on everything we should be thankful for, from having arms and legs to all of creation. With testimony from Richard Parker, we learn that God loves us above all things and that we must never forget the love and grace that we receive from him.

On Easter Sunday, Pastor Pete Godfrey preaches on the story of Jesus’ resurrection and how though the situation looked dire Jesus came in and gave them hope. He refers to the story of the two followers on the road to Emmaus in Luke No, and how even in their lost hope Jesus was walking alongside them in the hardship.
On this Good Friday, Penny West speaks to us about some of the lesser told stories of the Crucifixion such as with Judas and Barabbas and how we as people can relate to their stories. We learn that though sometimes we can feel that the mistakes we’ve made are way too big for Jesus to forgive us, but God’s love and Jesus’ s sacrifice is bigger than any sin we could ever commit!

On the Palm Sunday Service, Pastor Jon Langford talks about Paul throwing away the trash and embracing the life with Christ. He calls us to remind ourselves of three practices in our day to day lives: To know who you are, to know whose we are and to live like you know where you’re going. He references Philippians 3:9-16.
This week on the final sermon on the series of Freedom, Pastor John Townley preaches on spreading the good news around to the general public and teaches us about how it is not enough to do practical things for Jesus and we need to be the messengers for him. He references Romans 10:9-17.
Pastor Pete Godfrey talks about the gifts of the spirit calling us to accept the gifts that God has for us, and using them to impact those around us both in and out of the Church. Gary talks on his obstacles of fear, addiction, lack of trust for many years, and how he was the class reject who couldn’t trust anyone, was involved in drugs and alcohol, and went to prison and was a hypocrite, but through the love and care of God was forgiven so that he could take off his filthy rags, and no longer be a slave to fear.
He calls us to have faithfulness in God, and asks us what are we using to avoid our real struggles and to make the pain easier, using passages from John, Zechariah and Colossians. He calls us to also take off our filthy rags, because “if he can do it for me he can do it for you” -Gary.
Pastor Pete Godfrey preaches the first sermon of the Series called Freedom talking about the burden that we have of sin as Christians and how we often have good intentions that we don’t stick to as if we have another person who is controlling our actions in the opposite manner to how we want it to. He talks about how we were born from Adam and were therefore born in sin, and that we need to transfer to the Jesus jar to avoid spending our lives being polluted by sin. He uses Paul’s teachings in Romans to assist his sermon.
Pastor John Townley preaches the final sermon on the book of James talking about the privilege that we have of being able to pray and how we often focus on what we say when we pray rather than focus on the importance of who we’re praying to. He talks about how we as Christians need to devote ourselves to prayer and the conversation to God, likening it to the use of mobile phones in both positives and the limitations of it; warning us to be weary of the problem of non-belief by stepping into the presence of Jesus. John includes references to many points in the Bible, including James, Paul’s letters to the churches and the story of Thomas following Jesus’ Crucifixion.
As we celebrate the dedication of Thaddeus Joel Horwell, Daniel Townley preaches on the many names of Thaddeus in the Bible. From reading Phil 2: 5-11 and Mark 3: 13-19, we begin to understand the story of Thaddeus and his massive display of courage as he took Judas’ place in discipleship, not only giving up his home, family and business, but living in the shadow of the man who betrayed Jesus.
