It's a challenging and sometimes uncomfortable conversation, but one we believe is important to have.
We examine where these ideas come from, why they continue to resonate with some people, and how we can have more constructive conversations about masculinity, identity, power, and belonging.

Building on the success of the 2024 and 2025 festivals, the Trauma-Informed Film Festival 2026 will take place on 1 October 2026, at the Hyde Park Picture House, Leeds.

The festival uses film and creative storytelling to deepen understanding of trauma-informed practice, amplify lived experience, and strengthen collaboration across statutory, voluntary and community services.
The 2026 festival is focusing on the trauma informed principle of collaboration. Risk and Resilience alongside a collection of people who work for the VCS Alliance, GIPSIL/Engage Leeds, Change, Grow, Live and BARCA – third sector organisations based in Leeds, the wider West Yorkshire area and nationally based.
