i had the pleasure of meeting B at a Disco Dining Club. His energy & spirit was amazing! I thought to myself, this is the kind of disco angel we need to grace the floor! then when B left this earth too early, Navid asked me if i would like to make a song for B's fundraiser, i said fuck yeah! so i wrote from the heart instead of being disco. i think Navid was disappointed since i didn't make a club banger. U know how he is, he said something positive like "it sounds celestial", but i could feel his disappointment thru text lol. so i said let's make a track together & work it that way. who knows, maybe vinyl. i thought we were going to have a lot more time together. and that was it. Beautiful Soul #2 gone. im not sure if i will ever complete this song, but i wanted to share it because it came from within ❤ I think me & B had the same notion that in the next world, there will probably be no gender. sometimes I want to think this Disco Angel left us because the division down here was too much & he needed to know how wide his wings could spread to fly freely... like in a PERFECT WORLD

earlier this year, when i went to my gig in seattle, i was introduced to the lovely miss trish ocean from olympia, oregon. being the spiritual cosmic hippie type, we instantly became good friends. She explained how she does this music program where she focuses on positive messages and energy. She asked me to do a mix, i was more than happy to oblige. then she added the challenge of making it theme based. i was curious so i said ok what is it? she said "love". i'm not sure if i'm the right person for that lol. i've been single for how long? it was before the last eclipse i think?? anywho, i wasn't exactly sure if she meant love as in romance or just love for humanity, friends & all that bullshit. i figure, what's the worst thing that can happen. experience new emotions?ahhhh, good ol' sarcasm to save the day! wait till you see what happens next...

before Red Hot was released, i decided to do a remix mole's version. kind of like a colab. thomas said the mole probably wouldn't like it because it was too busy so it got shelved. sucks that decisions like that get made all the time but in this case, it didn't bother me since it was out of respect for the artist. the downside is that you guys missed a remix that i felt was very strong. i also don't play solos much. enjoy & play out!

i heard this song at the gym the other day & thought this was a pretty dope song with some potential for a balreaic type mix but couldn't find out who it was so i was kind of bummed. It has made the wedding & honeymoon charts for some. I'm very honored to know that I was able to be a part of those intimate moments.

The Freakmix Series is a compilation of the latest promos i receive from djs, producers, & labels all over the world.
I get so many promos, I'm lucky if i get to listen to them more than once before a performance. This series is another way I can share some great music without having to wait for gigs as well as giving me a chance to listen to some music in it's entirety for the first time. This series of mixes will be unrehearsed, unprogrammed, & with very little preempting involved. Just raw & spontaneous as the art of Djing demands. :)
