Over the last few years, I’ve been fortunate enough to cultivate a circle of friends (and their other friends) where the free flow of information and stories have been helpful to us all. So why not make it available to you? There are so many stories where I felt inspired at the end, enough to push through the week. Sometimes, they’d share information that propelled me into walking firmly in my purpose.
Every experience is unique and the plan is to ensure the transference of information that’ll cause you to think openly and try different things occasionally. Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/cupofhonesttea/support
In this episode, my friend, Mo, and I are sharing our experiences with platonic friendships, intimate relationships, compatibility, vulnerability, and all the things in between. We are discussing how we maintain our connections, ourselves, our needs/wants, as well as expectations of people. Thankfully, I already enjoy conversations with Mo, so recording this with a drink in hand was one of the easiest recordings I've done.

Today's episode covers various topics. There is no specific theme for discussion. We discussed what I've been up to, reading, and my thoughts on a few things currently happening in our society.
It's a "lemme fill you in" episode that also has a little passionate outburst about relationships, attachment styles, folks doing absolutely nothing to protect black women while trying to make them show up less excellent out of consideration for the work of the mediocre.
PS: There is a lot of cursing and at some point we discuss Bill Cosby. So, TRIGGER WARNING.

In this episode, we continued a discussion on "Strange Things About The Johnsons". This time, we directed our efforts on one scene where it shows the level of secrecy family members or loved ones will go through just to save face at the expense of the victimization of those they say they love.
Excerpt:
"When you are silent having knowledge that an abuser victimized someone, YOU ARE COMPLICIT. Period. You're telling these predators that you are in agreement with their bullshit ass nasty ass perverted ass behavior. No offense, but praying by itself won't fix the problem. While you and your folks are praying, these predators are PREYING and exerting power over others. It's an epidemic we need to acknowledge and stop protecting these folks and "family names" over the well-beings of our future generation."

TRIGGER WARNING: Rape/Sexual abuse, Incest, Emotional Abuse, and Mental Abuse are discussed.
In today's episode, we're discussing sexual trauma on black bodies and how we react to things like this as a community. The center of discussion is the short film "Stranger Things About The Johnsons".
Everyday, we are traumatized and re-traumatized by our experiences in life. A lot of times, we do not have control and the moment we do, our trauma has the best of us and we react (unhealthily).

In this episode, I'm discussing my dating chronicles/experiences from my younger years to adulthood and unpack some things that are now showing up in my adulthood. Dating in NYC's limited pool, to having sex with a friend to push a boyfriend to break up with me, and how my current dating life has me out here as mush ball mcthuggy.

In this episode, I'm sharing my experience with therapy and how it has changed my life for the better. Anything that'll prevent you from cutting a hoe and ending up in prison is a good thing to invest in if you ask me. I'm discussing how therapy helped me to become more self-aware as well as reinforcing my boundaries, notice red flags, and lead a better life. Thankfully, it made me into a soft-hearted self-proclaimed thug.

Sex has always been this topic we tiptoe around as if it's not normal to have sexual desires. So here I am, speaking of my own experiences and journey with sex that sometimes we unsavory, funny, and/or liberating. In this episode, I talk about my understanding of sex, growing up in church + their view, and my own sexual freedom (exploring kink, why small dicks don't matter to me, double standards).
I would like to give a special thank you to Jay Saint for giving me the permission to use his song "Be Great" as my intro! Definitely check him out!
