It was not the original Simon Peter, impulsive and full of weakness, whom Christ called, “Simon” Mark 14:37; Luke 22:31; John 21:15-17 who is credited with writing this epistle. It was that Peter who Christ gave the keys to the kingdom, Matthew 16:13-19. The same man chastened by years of suffering and trials and strengthened by the baptism of the Holy Spirit; whom this epistle belongs to, written in the later period of his life.
Self-examination is never unimportant or useless for Christians; and an exhortation to do it is always in place. Every Christian should be often prompted from within to examine the foundation of their hope of eternal life and salvation in Christ. During this series of lessons, we will do a (re)Call to ourselves to see if we have strayed or are straying away from the faith in Jesus Christ.
When a person in the military does not feel well, or they have some type of medical issue, or they think that they may be sick, they are afforded the opportunity to go on sick call to seek help for their ailment. They are usually seen by a Physician Assistant (PA) or doctor to help identify their issue and hopefully prescribe a remedy to help cure them. Sin can cause sickness in one’s life. And many people are suffering with illness because of sin. Jesus is the doctor who can diagnose the illness and give a correct remedy for cure. Do you need to go on sick call today?

There are dispensations in the Bible that occurred at specific times and for specific purposes as a part of God’s master plan. Principles and practices in one dispensation don’t translate and are not intended for subsequent or previous dispensations. We must be careful not to apply principles from one dispensation in the midst of a different dispensation where they aren’t intended to apply. We need to follow God’s current will, plan, and purpose for the current generation and dispensation.

Kintsugi is a centuries-old Japanese art of mending broken pottery. Gold dust mixed with resin is used to reattach broken pieces or fill in cracks, resulting in a striking bond. Instead of trying to repair, the art makes something beautiful out of brokenness. The Bible also tells us that God values our brokenness. And when we are genuinely sorry for the sins we have committed, God mends and makes us new. He makes something beautiful out of our brokenness.

Paul’s call for Christian’s to examine them self is that there are always occasions to be deceived. As some folks have already been deceived and departed the faith. Paul wanted the church to institute a strict and impartial examination of them self to ascertain whether they had not been deceived. Self-examination, however, is never unimportant or useless for Christians; and an exhortation to do it is always in place.
This title, “The Sharp Two-Edged Sword”, is used partly to show that the only weapon the church, the true ministers of Christ, and its members have to defend themselves against the growing corruptions of antichrist is the word of God.

After the birth of Jesus, scripture says, “And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing, which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us.” Most people stop at the Christmas story after they hear of the birth of Christ, they do not follow the shepherd’s example. But after the shepherds had heard and seen, they returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen; as it was told to them, they made it known to others.
As Timothy was being launched into a ministry and responsibility that he had never really faced before, the Apostle Paul who had been mentoring and training him, was edifying, encouraging, and reminding him of the great gift of God’s grace that had empowered Paul and would, no doubt, empower Timothy and all who would come after him. This moment can apply to any believer that God is calling to accomplish something great for the kingdom. We, like Timothy, need a bit of edification and encouragement from time to time that everything we need to perform the Father’s will is placed in us through the New Birth experience.
One of the greatest attributes of a true Christian is that of a selfless servant. Service to God in sincerity and truth can only result from a free and willing allegiance of the heart. Joshua knew that all service that was not done free and voluntarily would be seen as deceit and hypocritical, as God loveth a cheerful giver.

The apostle Peter tells us that we are born again, not of corruptible seed, but incorruptible by the word of God. It is only by God’s word that we are truly born again and saved. There is no other way.

One of the things about death is it is an eye opener. It often takes us all by surprise. When we hear of a person’s death, usually the first question that runs through our mind is how older were they? If they were not 70 to 90 years old, we say that they were so young. Do we think that death has an age limit that goes with it? Jesus said that no man knows the minute nor the hour when the Son of man comes. Are you ready for His coming?

Salvation means deliverance from the power and effects of sin. It is preservation or deliverance from harm, ruin, or loss. But how do we obtain this salvation and where does it come from? The Apostle Peter tells us, “Neither is there salvation from in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12) Therefore, the God of our salvation is Jesus Christ. Who is the God of your salvation?
Prayer is as old as man, as universal as religion, and as instinctive as breathing. Prayer springs from the heart with a need. A need greater than man’s ability to encounter. Prayer is man’s acknowledgment of a being higher than himself. It is a rare privilege to pray; because it brings you into close fellowship with God, admitting your need for Him and your utter dependence upon Him.
We all have an enemy of our soul who is out to attack us. We need to understand that enemy so we are aware of the tactics and advances that will be made. Our identify and focus must be Jesus Christ, we cannot compromise the Truth in any way.

One of the things that we must learn from wars in history is that if the king lost the battle he lost his crown. We are called to be kings and priests unto our God. The greatest battle we will ever face is the battle with self. Therefore, we must do everything we can to win the battle of self so we do not lose our crown.

Some attributes that we should strive to have in our lives are among the following: Adding to our joy, avoiding sin, avoiding false teachers and prophets, and strengthening our faith and ensuring our salvation. We will briefly discuss these four attributes during this series.
We must never the message that Jesus gave us to share with others. This gospel of Himself is the only message that has been given to us that will get people out of darkness and keep us out of darkness if we obey it.
One of the reasons I believe so many folks have trouble with serving God is that they do not like the requirements. They see His obligations, conditions, and restraints as too restrictive. But if we are to appear before Him, then we must do justly, love mercy, and walk humbly before Him, Micah said.

There will be those times that we may think being out of the church is better than being in the church. But as Paul warned the centurion and the soldier onboard the ship with them during the storm, except you above in the ship you cannot be saved. We must remain in the church.
Throughout scripture we find that God's ways are not our ways, nor are His thoughts like our thoughts. But when God's ways do not align with some folks ways and/or thinking, they become upset and accuse God of not being fair or equal.

Paul said that the Gospel is the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ (I Cor. 25:1-5). And if we are ashamed of it or if it is hidden, people will remain lost. The Gospel is Christ's doctrine, not only what He Himself preached when on Earth, but it is a doctrine concerning Him; concerning His Deity, and the self-possession of His person, and His office as a mediator, and salvation for all. And this Gospel is the only means by which we can be saved.

To purge is to take away or remove anything that is not wanted or that may be causing us hindrance. To rid oneself of whatever is impure or undesirable; cleanse; purify. To clear of guilt. To free from moral or ceremonial defilement. Pail's writing to the church calls for us to purge out the old leaven (sin) that we may be a new lump (righteous).

When we look at scripture, we can see that God has been with and for mankind all the time from Creation until this present day. Not one word of His promise has failed. God is on our side. God did not call us out of the world to leave us. But He brought us out to bring us in. God is leading in the fight and we will be victorious through Him. God is not against us, He is for us.
One of the things about being a Christian and walking in this way is that we must be careful. The word careful can take on many meanings: Cautious, Vigilant, Meticulous, Prudent, Watchful; But none like making sure of avoiding potential danger, and mishap or harm. Prior to entering the promised Land, Moses warned the children of Israel that they should be aware and be careful that they do not forget God.
Deception stands as the order for the end times; however, a love for God's Word will protect the child of God and prevent a diversion from truth.
When the angel Gabriel appeared to Zechariah in the temple to tell him of the birth of John the Baptist, he lists four things that he would do: “And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.” (Luke 1:17) These same principles must be in every born-again believe today. We must have the spirit of Elijah, ready to go and share the good news of the gospel.

The word ‘come’ is a verb. Verbs are action words which means that we must act or do something. When Peter cried out to Jesus, “ Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water.” Jesus said, “Come.” Notice that now Peter had to act un the call to come. He had to go toward Jesus. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water to go to Jesus. When Jesus bids us come, we too must act and not delay.

Every aspect of Paul’s ministry and the ministry and life of every faithful disciple and follower was based solely on the example that Jesus Christ left His disciples and the world to follow. Even Jesus Himself was a follower of the specific will of His heavenly Father. Jesus acknowledged that everything He did was directed by and done according to the will of the Father.

Thereout scripture we continually see that God promised to be a helper for his people. Therefore, the writer of Hebrew state that we should let our conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.
The word “but” is a conjunction used to introduce a phrase or clause contrasting with what has already been mentioned. This conjunction says “hold on and focus on what I am about to tell you.” It is a word that gives us an ultimatum and enlightens us. Do this and you will be blessed, but if no, then you will be cursed. Each of us who are born again can look back and see that if it had not for a ‘But God’ moment, our lives may have been destroyed.

No man knows his moral strength until he comes face to face with a trial. The chain that holds the vessel to the dock is only as strong as the weakest link, and if that weakest link gives way the vessel is loosed from the moorings as surely as if every link had broken. Our human character is only as strong as its weakest point, and if a severe strain is brought to bear upon us, we will break down if our character is not strong. In times of adversity, every virtue and excellence that we possess will be subject to a severe test, and if only one of them is found unequal to the trial, the whole character suffers, and we are in danger of losing our hold on God, and then we will drift from the right course. Throughout scripture we are warned that adverse and unfavorable conditions, calamity, and misfortune will come. Therefore, it is of utmost important that we prepare ourselves in advance before these adversities come.
The book of Hebrews is themed, “Better.” The author wants us to know that in Christ all things are better. We have a better priesthood, a better resurrection, a better hope, we are given better promises, and even a better covenant than those who were before Christ’s coming. If we follow His word and plan, we will see just how much better things can really be for us.

When Jesus came into the temple in Luke Chapter 4, after being tempted by the devil in the wilderness for 40 days, he went unto the synagogue, and they had him to read the scriptures. He turned to Isaiah chapter 61:1-2. But for some reason, Jesus did not cite the latter part of verse 2, “The day of vengeance of our God.” Was there a reason for his omission? But in Luke 21:20-22, he said that when you see the armies compass around about Jerusalem, then know that this is the day of vengeance of God. Are you ready?

An ophthalmologist is a physician who specializes in diagnosing, prescribing, and treatment for defects, injuries, and diseases of the eye, and is skilled at delicate eye surgery. Paul said that if this gospel is hid, it is hid to them who are lost, in who the god of this world has blinded the minds of them which believe not. Jesus stated that part of His mission was to bring sight to the blind. Have you obeyed the gospel so that you can see?

The writer of Hebrews informs us that Moses was admonished of God when he was about to make the tabernacle: For, See, saith he, that thou make all things according to the pattern shewed thee in the mount.” (Hebrews 8:5) A pattern is an example or model to be followed. Paul, in writing to the church at Philippi, stated that they were examples or patterns for them to follow. If we desire to reach perfection and become complete in Christ, then we must follow the example left for us.

The role of a father can take on many responsibilities, but none like educating one’s children in the ways of the Lord and setting a good example for them to emulate. With a continual decline of fatherhood in the world, and in some cases in the church, Christian fathers must become knowledgeable of their role according to God’s word and act upon it.
One of the essential things that we must learn how to do once we are born-again, is how to walk. The word “walk” is often used in the scriptures to denote a way of life or conduct. And since life is represented as a journey, and man as a traveler, and there are many pitfalls, then he must learn how to walk
Some religions teach that to be saved all a person must do is just believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, while others teach that you must be born again of the water and the Spirit as Jesus taught. Jude admonishes, “Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.”(Jude 1:3) Is there a contradiction? What will happen if ones’ belief only, in Christ, causes them to fall short of their eternal salvation?

One of the essential things that we must learn how to do once we are born-again, is how to walk. The word “walk” is often used in the scriptures to denote a way of life or conduct. And since life is represented as a journey, and man as a traveler, and there are many pitfalls, then he must learn how to walk
People have desired to know many things over the span of time. Many have found the knowledge they were looking for only to feel no fulfillment in the having of that knowledge and wisdom. Men like Solomon and Paul sought for and desired to know things beyond their natural wisdom and understanding. They sought it with a pure heart from the source of all knowledge and wisdom and were granted it, only to be asked to take no credit for it and to give it away. OH, that men would desire to know of the things of God.

Under the Law, there were three times each year that all Jewish men twenty years old and older were required to go up to Jerusalem to worship. They were: Passover, to commemorate the deliverance from Egyptian bondage; Pentecost, to commemorate the giving of the Law; and Tabernacle, to commemorate the Lord’s provision in the wilderness. It would be Pentecost, fifty days after Jesus’ resurrection from the dead, that would change the world and usher in the New Testament Church.

Our overall service ought to be that which would be acceptable to God. We must do what God requires of us, so that we may be accepted by Him. One of the highest recompenses we can receive is to be acceptable by God. It should matter little what people think of us if God approves of what we do. To please Him should be our highest aim; the fact that we do please Him is our highest reward.
Justice is at the head of all the institutions in a well-regulated state. And when that gets poisoned or perverted, every evil, political, and domestic, will prevail; even religion itself ceases to have any influence.

The punishment for any man who was judged and found guilty under the law for such a crime as wickedness was not to exceed forty stripes save one. So, who took his other stripe? Who will take the stripes for us?

Mother’s Day is a celebration honoring the mother of the family, as well as motherhood, maternal bonds, and the influence of mothers in society. But when we turn to the church, Paul states that Jerusalem (which represents the church), which is above, is the mother of us all.

Compassion is an emotion that is a sense of shared suffering, most often combined with a desire to alleviate or reduce the suffering of another; to show special kindness to those who suffer. Compassion essentially arises through empathy, and is often characterized through actions, wherein a person acting with compassion will seek to aid those they feel compassionate for. Compassionate acts are generally considered those which consider the suffering of others and attempt to alleviate that suffering as if it were one’s own. Now, more than ever, we need to have compassion and make a difference in the life of others.
Your ability to stay focused will determine your effective in life, career, ministry, or anything else you set out to do. The problem with most folks today is that they are not focused. People who are stressed, depressed, suicidal, always tired, those who cannot seem to hold a job, are due to a lack of focus. When we are in focus, we can see things clearer and we will be more motivated in our lives and for the Kingdom.

Just prior to his death, Joshua, like Moses, wanted to reiterate to the children of Israel the importance of obeying God’s word and keeping the covenant which they had made with Him. He told them that the stone that he was setting up had heard every word of God and it was a witness unto them.

There seems to be so many that have broken hearts today. Many have had their hearts broken due to unexpected death or sickness of loved ones. Others due to divorce. While for others, it has been a disappointment of a parent, co-worker, a friend, or a minister. And this is one of the things, a broken heart, that Jesus came to heal.

Probably the best conversations that we can have with others is talking about Jesus. Moses told the children of Israel that they should talk about God consistently in their homes, and when they were in the way, so that that they would not forget God and the things that He had done for them. Let’s talk about Jesus!

Do you want to express your faith in an authentic and natural way but aren’t sure how? Most of the great heroes of the Bible shared two things in common: (1) they all believed what God said, and (2) they all seem to in some way display their faith.
With the current situation going on in the world with Covid-19, many are becoming fearful, uncertain, and losing hope. Many are starting to question themselves and are asking questions that seem to have no answers. We must remain steadfast in our confidence in God's ability, His Word, and His promise that He will deliver and bring us through it all.

During His earthly ministry, Jesus did many wonderful and amazing things. Many of His actions astounded and befuddled those that observed Him in action. Those who were supposed to be the spiritual leaders of His day were probably the most confounded. He was disrupting their plans and processes. The things that they allowed in the synagogue, Jesus came and dealt with. He exercised only the true spiritual authority given Him by the Father. What are we doing with the authority we have been given by His indwelling Spirit?

The enactment of the different offerings by God in the book of Leviticus required that the worshippers bring certain items to the priest to be used for the remission of sins and for a relationship with Him and others. When we turn to the New Testament, we see Jesus Christ fulfilled all these same requirements. Jesus Christ, the same yesterday, today, and forever.

The recent outbreak of the coronavirus has many people afraid of being contaminated and dying. They are doing everything that they can in hopes of not being contaminated or to prevent it from spreading. Unlike this virus, when we are contaminated by Jesus, we must allow it to spread to the whole earth.

Some of the ways that we can identify trees are by their leaves, their bark, their smell, or by their fruit. Scripture often refer to men as trees. And Jesus said, “Either make the tree good and his fruit good, or else make the tree corrupt and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit.”

Changing our identity and starting over is a common motif in books and movies. But is it possible to do so in real life? What about the church? Our Identity is who we believe that we are. But if our identity does not reflect us as children of God, then we must change.

Many seem to have questions about Christmas time and its meaning. But none more than Mary who was told she would birth the Savior of the world. Even she was filled with amazement and reasoned in her heart what these things meant.
Christmas is the season that requires much planning and preparation to get ready for. But in many cases, many people miss the true meaning for the season. Christmas should be a time or a reminder of that first Christmas when the Savior of the world was born. The psalmist said, “Behold he cometh.” Do you have room for Him in your heart should He come?
Scripture says that when King Solomon began to build the house of the LORD; and the house which King Solomon built of stone made ready before it was brought there: so that there was neither hammer nor axe nor any tool of iron heard in the house, while it was in building.
We put our money in the bank and financial institutions because we want them to watch over and keep it for us. It is amazing that we will trust man before we trust God. The psalmist said that the Lord was his keeper. In other words, the Lord was his preserver and his defender. He will keep you from danger, he will keep you from sin, and he will keep you unto eternal life.
Literally give to the wise, and he will be wise. Whatever you give to such, they reap profit from it. If we teach a just man; one that is truly so, that has seen the insufficiency of his own righteousness, and who has learned Christ, as the Lord his God, and one who lives soberly, righteously, and godly; teach such a man the doctrines of the Gospel; he will increase in learning; he will grow in grace, and in the knowledge of Christ and all divine things.
There should be a desire within us to know no only the the word of truth, but the certainty of them, that or faith may be intelligent and rational and may grow up to a full assurance in Him.
In some denominations, their overall focus is money as the way to prosper. But one must ask themselves if that is all there is to life is money. John wrote, “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.” (3 John 1:2).
God is looking for a man or woman that will make a difference. To be a true cross bearer, you must be moved with compassion. You must be willing to make a difference, not only in your own life, but in the life of others.
When we look through the lens of scripture, there are certain things that we read that we do not like to focus on. And that is that we will suffer for Christ’s glory. If we think being a Christian is going to be a cake walk, we are confused. The patriarchs suffered for His glory and we will, too.
Meriam-Webster defines Practical as: relating to or manifested in practice or action. The object of the apostle James is to describe what enters essentially into religion; and what it will do when it is properly developed. The phrase “pure religion” means that which is genuine and sincere, or which is free from any improper mixture; that which God sees to be pure and undefiled.
Evidence is that which tends to prove or disprove something; ground for belief; proof. It is the available body of facts or information indicating whether a belief or proposition is true or valid. The Holy Ghost speaking in tongues as the spirit gives the utterance is our proof that we have received God’s Spirit.

One of the greatest challenges for many believers is to get to a point that they truly trust and believe in God’s ability to do what He says. Scripture shows us that many of the healings and miracles done in peoples’ lives were done the moment they believed in Jesus’ ability to do them. We must get to the point of believing that Jesus will.

Our giving unto the Lord and His kingdom should be an indicator of our spiritual growth. We should never have to be asked to give our tithe and offering unto the Lord. When we give willingly, freely, and cheerfully we recognize that it is a part of worship. And when we give from the heart, not grudgingly or of necessity, God is well pleased.
Do you ever ask yourself why out of all the people in the world, God chose you? Do you wonder why your employer chose you over someone else for the job? What would you do if you knew that your selection for the job had nothing to do with your qualifications, but it was God behind the process to place you there to be a witness for Him at this time? Have others started to open-up to you about their situation and life and asked for your opinion? Do you find others gathering around your more? As Mordecai told Esther, “Who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”

Because of the children of Israel’s disobedience, God delivered them into the hands of the Midianites for seven years, but Gideon was chosen to deliver them. However, because of his fear and lack of faith, he was hiding behind the winepress. The winepress is seen as a place of excuses for why you can’t do what God has called you to do. Disobedience can destroy one’s faith and put them behind the winepress.

To purge is to cleanse or take away, to prune. Whether we are bearing fruit or not, there is a purging process in His vineyard. The difference is that if we are fruitful, we get purged some. But if not, we are completely taken away and are burned.
Thanatophobia is often referred to as the fear of death. More specifically it can be a fear of death of a fear of the dying process. In January of this year, there was a survey taken about death. And of those surveyed, 11% said they were afraid of dying. Someone said, “Everyone wants to go to heaven, but no one wants to die to get there.”

We are blessed with the gift of choice from our Creator. Lucifer made a choice he has regretted ever since. He knows that we must choose to walk with the Lord. He is out to do whatever he can to cause us to be trapped and tricked into a choice we will regret. Like an offer on a contract, he is asking us to choose to accept his temptation to sin over trusting in our Savior. Our response needs to be “Sorry, your offer is declined.”

Grace is not only defined as God’s unmerited love, it has also been defined as the divine influence which operates in humans to regenerate and sanctify, to inspire virtuous impulses, and to impart strength to endure trial and resist temptation; and as an individual virtue or excellence of divine origin. One of the biggest errors in Christendom is that many misunderstand the grace of God for eternal salvation.

Your life is determined by the condition of your heart. If your heart is pure, your life will be pure. If your heart is corrupt, your life will be corrupt. If your heart if right, your life will be right. If your heart is set on heaven, your way will be toward heaven and you will be alert ad keep it cleansed.

What are you expecting when you go to the house of God? If we come to the house of God waiting for the right song to be sung, the right message to be preached, or the right person to meet, you will probably leave disappointed every time.

Every so often, when I am listening to the radio in my car, a loud blaring sound will come over the radio for about 15 seconds and then someone will come on and say, “This was only a test. If this had been an actual emergency, you would have been told what to do.” Tests are designed to help us learn and know what to do in life.
One of the things that I like about the book of Job is not that he endured the things that he went through, or how God blessed him with more in the end. But I like his attitude when he received the eveil reports of his loss. With all the evils that came his way, with what seemed like just a moment of time, Job still realizes where his strength came from and what he should do. He worshipped God.
The word holiness, in Hebrew, is Kadesh. And in Greek it is Hagios. But no matter if it is Greek or Hebrew, the meaning is the same, someone or something set apart, separated unto God, that is most holy, physically pure, morally blameless, ceremonially consecrated, hallow house of God.
The psalmist states that truth shall spring out of the earth. Jesus Christ is the way, truth, and life. Isaiah said of Jesus, “For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant and as a root out of dry ground.” This stem of Jesse was none other than the truth…..Jesus Christ.
The Day of Pentecost was one of those days that all males, twenty years and older, were required to go up to Jerusalem to worship. It was the day to commemorate the giving of the law.
Exactly what did Jesus mean when He said, “And who so ever doth not take his cross, and come after me, can not be my disciples?” (Luke 14:27) What was the significance of the cross? Why did the Apostle Paul preach about the cross, and why must we teach it?
Prayer is as old as man, as universal as religion, and as instinctive as breathing. “And to Seth, to him also there was born a son; and he called his name Enos: then began men to call upon the name of the LORD.” (Genesis 4:26) It is practice in some form by all men of all faiths. Prayer springs from a heart with a need, a need greater than man’s ability to encounter. Prayer is man’s acknowledgement of a being higher than himself. It is a rare privilege to pray; because it brings you into close fellowship with God, admitting you need Him and your utter dependence upon Him.
Gradualism is the slow and gradual change that happens over a somewhat slow period of time. The gradual change may be so that others will be accepted, to slowly remove policies or procedures that some do not like, or to increase pricing. Whatever the reason, gradualism brings about a change that we are not aware of until the change is made.
The Mississippi River is the second longest river in North America, flowing 2,350 miles from its source at Lake Itasca through the center of the continental United States to the Gulf of Mexico. Some describe the Mississippi River as being the third longest river system in the world, if the length of Missouri and Ohio Rivers are added to the Mississippi's main stem. But the father you get from the head, the more things are adding into it and polluting it.

The name Eve means life, living, or life giver. Every living creature has a mother. No creature is born without the female. And once she gives birth, she becomes a mother. Like Adam and Eve, Abraham and Sarah and The Holy Ghost and Mary were types and shadows of The Church – the spiritual mother of us all.

In today’s world, there are many folks wrestling with fear. Fear is just False Evidence Appearing Real. “There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.” (1 John 4:18) But the problem with fear, John said, is that it will torment you. In other words, fear will cause a painful and distressing emotion in us.

Our heavenly Father is in control of all things. When He chooses the day, the man and the hour only great things are in store. This has been proven over and over throughout scripture. He has chosen us in this day and in this hour for this time. He has given us great power and authority and He told us that to whom much is given much is required.
Some people wonder how the dead are raised up and with what body do they come? Paul said that God raises and God gives it a body that pleases him.
You may feel like you are in a valley, we all face valley times in our life. But keep climbing, Jesus will take you to the mountain top when you make a decision to follow Him. Every day we make choices, life choices that either draw us closer to God or away from Him. Choose you this day.
The call of fear is to everyone involved in these verses; yet the call of fear is not present to those who call out to Jesus. It does not matter the situation, Jesus is the constant who can bring peace to the situation. Fear is common, Jesus is our constant.
Abraham had a relationship with God. God did not have to go searching for him as He did Adam. The stuff of life is often what separates us from God. We don't need to be concerned about the stuff; when we seek God first and are obedient to Him; Gd add the things we have need of.
Little is known of Jacob’s children. Asher was born to Jacob from Leah’s maid Zilpah. And Moses pronounced what seems to be the greatest blessing upon him.
In his book “What It Takes To Be Number One’, Coach Vince Lombardi said: “Winning is not a sometime thing; it’s an all-time thing. You don’t win once in a while you don’t do things right once in a while; you do them right all the time. Winning is a habit. Unfortunately, so is losing.”
I often find in Christendom that some people will talk your ear off on the phone, but when it comes to sharing the gospel and the plan of salvation, it is as if they have no tongue to speak.
We are warned by scripture that in the last day perilous times shall come. Therefore, if we are to be victorious in the end times and see Jesus, we must maintain a love for Him, for His truth, for His word, and for His Name.
One of the things about success is that it can make you prideful. Naaman was a great commander and a man used by God. So, by all accounts, Naaman was a successful person. And the problem sometimes with success is that we don’t like others to tell us what we need to do. Elisha didn’t care if he dipped or not. He could either sip or dip, it was Naaman’s choice and his decision. However, his healing rested in his obedience.
We are warned by scripture that in the last day perilous times shall come. Therefore, if we are to be victorious in the end times and see Jesus, we must maintain a love for Him, for His truth, for His word, and for His Name.
The veil of the temple being torn in two from top to bottom as Christ breathed His last breath was no just happenstance. God designed it to send a very powerful message. It was representative of much more than the obvious exposure of the Holy of Holies for all to see. The death of Jesus on the cross and the subsequent renting of this curtain truly ushered in a new covenant, but more than that, it challenged the very fabric and foundation of the Mosaic Law of Judaism and of Jewish religious tradition. The ripple effect from that one event is still being experienced to this very day.
We are warned by scripture that in the last day perilous times shall come. Therefore, if we are to be victorious in the end times and see Jesus, we must maintain a love for Him, for His truth, for His word, and for His Name.
Self-Discipline is called this because it begins with self. The onus of it falls to each one of us. One of the reasons we don’t have self-discipline is because we are quick to run from the hard, uncomfortable things. We would rather do the easy, comfortable, and familiar things.
Within Christendom there are many denominations. And each of them, within their tenants, tress their understanding of the way of salvation. But are they all correction?
We are warned by scripture that in the last day perilous times shall come. Therefore, if we are to be victorious in the end times and see Jesus, we must maintain a love for Him, for His truth, for His word, and for His Name.
As born-again believers, we have been given weapons that are not carnal, but they are mighty to defeat our enemies. Two of those weapons are God’s word and His salvation. Knowing how to use them will always ensure victory.
There are basically three reasons God alters our route. First: Personal Development (Deuteronomy 8:4-5); Second: There is a cry for help (Acts 16); and Third: Evangelism (John 4)
When we received our salvation, we were given the gifts of righteousness, peace and joy. We must maintain our peace that only comes from God. The enemy wants to steal our peace if we will let him. We are to seek peace and pursue it. If we will keep our Mind stayed on the Lord, He will keep us in prefect peace.
Baruch was the scribe that recorded every word the prophet Jeremiah spoke to the people of Israel. He had the privilege of being God’s man for God’s plan in God’s perfecting timing. He had big plans for himself, knowing he was in such a key and prominent place. God had His own outcome that didn’t match Baruch’s. In the end, he was allowed the distinction of honorable-mention and God let him live. We have grand desires and plans for where we believe God can and should use us, but why do our plans never seem to meet with reality? That’s because God’s plan, purpose, will, and ways are always higher than ours and usually beyond our understanding. And His plans are the best.
When we read the account of God destroying the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah, we find the reason for their destruction. They had no Bible.
The special mission Jesus sent the apostles on was a limited version of what was to become the Great Commission to go into all the world. This is the day to be bold for the Lord Jesus. We have been given apostolic authority and power through the infilling of the Holy Ghost. We have been challenged to be witnesses, not just to Israel, but to the whole world. Will you accept the challenge?
If the Word of God is essential to life, then it must be important. Jesus said, “It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God” (Matthew 4:4).
After the Resurrection of Jesus, His disciples were told that He was risen, but they did not believe the report. When Jesus appeared unto them, He scolded and reprimanded them because of their unbelief and hardness of heart. Is your heart blocked with unbelief?
Just like He did over two thousand years ago, the Lord continues today to call people into service for the Kingdom of God. As he reached down into the everyday lives of twelve rather ordinary men from ancient Israel and summoned them to follow Him unconditionally, His calling still seeks out those who are willing to lay down their worldly pursuits and ambitions and focus on Kingdom matters. By examining the Biblical account of the calling of the original twelve apostles, we can better understand the nature of God’s calling in our own lives
There are many things that can cause heart blockage. Jesus listed three things that can choke or block the word from accomplishing its purpose: The cares of the world; the deceitfulness of riches; and the lust of other things.
Christmas is the time that many celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. Yet few realize that He was God manifested in flesh.
If you ask them, most people do not know the reason for Jesus coming to the earth. Jesus said the mission was to seek and to save that which was lost.
Throughout scripture, we see that God always left something for His people to see His faithfulness. Whether it was the pot of manna, the table of stones, or the sacrifices for sin, it all revealed His faithfulness to His people.
After 40 years of wandering in the wilderness, the children of Israel were able to enter the land that God had promised them. Caleb, who had wholly followed God, requested a mountain for his inheritance and Joshua gave him Hebron. The land of Anka. The land of giants. In life, we are going to have giant mountains that we must overcome. How do we do that? Jesus said by Faith.
Christmas – it has been said it is the MOST WONDERFUL time of the year! And I tend to agree. What could be more wonderful than a time set aside to recognize and celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior. John 3:16 says because God loved He gave. Let’s give freely to others this Christmas season, giving gifts that matter most.
Of the five senses that we have, scripture seems to focus more on hearing, seeing and touching than tasting and smelling. We see this by the statement made by the woman with the issue of blood when she said, “If I can but touch the hem of his garment, I shall be made whole.”
As Jesus was preparing His Disciples to be the future leaders of His Church, He was also trying to tell them, and all of those around Him, who He was. The educated, religious Jews were so blinded by their own traditions and customs that they failed to "see" who it really was that was standing before them. They had the words of many Old Testament prophets that testified of His coming for centuries, yet they could not comprehend that this Jesus was healing and delivering could be and was, in fact, that very one and that He was here for their benefit.
The church is the body through which the head, which is Jesus Christ, manifests His love, mercy, grace, and compassion. Through the power of the One who initiated the Church, it is our mission and burden to add to the body and to nurture and grow the body. He left this responsibility in the hands of His disciples. That's us.
As we honor or veterans today, it is a solemn reminder that freedom is not free. Many men and women have sacrificed their life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness that others may enjoy theirs. May we never forget the sacrifice they have made.
We often try to figure God out by pondering on His word instead of just doing what it says. God’s ways and thoughts are not like ours. Therefore, we must

In the 80’s, during the Cold war, there were threats of Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles that may be launched from Russia or China against the United States. And so President Reagan had developed a system called the “Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Defense System.” Its purpose was for protection of the homeland. We all need a defense system against sin, and God’s word will do just that.
When we speak of Apostolic Ministry we are speaking of those chosen by God to help in the development of saints of God in the truth and doctrine of Jesus Christ, those chosen to oversee the working of God’s church, and to give direction and guidance to the body of Christ.

Many today seem to be troubled about many things. But we must not allot our Martha troubles to affect and impact our Mary moments with the Lord.
Seeking a place beyond this life in the presence of the Lord for eternity and taking as many with us as possible.
Jesus’ parable of the vine and branches is to draw our attention to the importance of self-reproduction and soul winning. If we are not bearing fruit to indicate a change in our lives, after the vine, then we may soon find ourselves being cut off from the vine.

The patriarch of old, were seeking for a better country, and so must we. Jesus has gone to prepare a place for us, and he will come back to take us to our new home. Therefore, we must not put our stakes down here but anticipate that new city where the Lamb is the light.
We may sometimes find ourselves encountering danger in our lives because we are disobedient to the warnings and instructions given to us by the man or woman of God, as we see in Acts 27. But even when we are faced with the unexpected storms that may come into our lives we can make it to the short on boards and pieces of the ship.
Throughout the Bible those that followed and trusted the Lord had to choose to make a stand, especially when they didn’t understand the circumstances they were in or the full plan of God and what he final outcome would be. They stood and the Lord always came through. We must stand for the gospel of Jesus Christ if no one else will.
The Prophet Zechariah shines light on the future of the church. He sees an angel heading to measure Zion, which is Jerusalem. Even though she looked defeated, he points to her future hope. He said at evening time it shall be light.
Of the ten lepers that asked Jesus for mercy, only one returned to give thanks for his cleansing, and scripture says that he was made completely whole. Paul tells us, “In everything to give thanks for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning us.” We must always have a heart of gratitude.
There are many reasons for our resurrection. Paul said that God raised us to sit in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. We are also told that it was to destroy the old man that we may walk in newness of life.
The story of the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah is a story for our learning of how God will deal with the unrighteous. In his decision making, Lot seemed to make one major mistake that cost him everything. That was the decision of which direction he pitched his tent. We must ensure that our tent is pitched in the right direction, so that we are not cast into hell with Satan and his demons.
Worship is defined as paying homage to a deity. For us, that deity is Jesus Christ. In John 4:19-24, there is a mention of some form of worship ten times. That means that worship is important to God. What about you?
The Lord said through the Prophet Isaiah that His watchmen were dumb dogs that could not bark. In other words, they were not giving the people warning. But this dog is gonna bark!
Jesus saw us in our messed-up lives when He went to the cross. He went for our sakes because he had a purpose in mind for us, something he needed us to do. We were already commissioned before he ever saved us. We are his hand-picked representatives to our lost world.
There is appointed a day for each person a judgement day, each of us needs to be prepared for that day.
Christian unity, the unity of the Spirit, is unity that starts from within and works outward. It is just like a flower, a tree or the human body. As the body of Christ, it is absolutely imperative that we have unity for the sake of the kingdom.
Substance is the fundamental part or quality of something. The writer of Hebrews lets us know that even though we may lose our earthly possessions, we have a better substance prepared for us in heaven. We have an enduring substance in heaven that will never end and will never lose its value.
God had promised the children of Israel rest. However, many of them had wandered out of the way, and could not enter in to the rest because of unbelief. Paul said that there remains a day of rest for the people of God. We must remain in the way if we desire His rest.
Frank Ewart’s, who was one of the early pioneers of Pentecost, wrote a paper entitled a paper “Meat In Due Season.” It would be this paper that would cause such great men as Bishop G.T. Haywood and others to come to the revelation of the Mighty God in Christ and cause them to join the Oneness Pentecostal movement.
The most important aspect of being a Christian is that we must get to the point of no return from the ways of God in our lives. Because our trust is in the Lord, no matter what evils may come our way, they must not deter us from worshiping Him, serving Him, trusting Him, and doing and accomplishing what He desires us to do. No matter how we feel and no matter what may be going on in our life, nothing must be able to separate us from His love.
Core Values are the fundamental beliefs of a person or organization. They are the guiding principles that dictate ones behavior. During this month in our class, we will discuss the Core Values of this church and how they should impact our lives and how they affect our identity.
Jeremiah is called the weeping prophet. His name means “Whom God hath appointed.” The major thrust of his book is punishment for rebellion, and the 70 years captivity for punishment. In some ways, Jeremiah seems to question God about the wicked peoples’ prosperity while his people suffer. To which God tells him it is because they have rejected Him and His word. God speaks of His redemption plan for Israel and Judah, but they must still suffer for their wrong. And he asks Jeremiah if he has run with footmen, foot soldiers (which is the infantry) and they weary him, how can he contend with horses (the cavalry), when it gets harder.

Throughout the Bible and its history God has always used mankind to accomplish and fulfill His plan and purpose. In every circumstance where someone was mightily used for His purposes, the vessel did not initially understand what was happening in their life. They eventually came to the realization that almighty God was orchestrating every detail. He had them right where He wanted them and it was all for His glory.
Jesus Christ, displayed all the characteristics of a Godly father. Therefore, men who desire to be a father must pattern their lives after Him.
Every life is about one thing, relationships! We are earthen vessels created that God desires to place His Spirit within. We are defined by who is within us! Relationships require commitment.
The writer of the book of Hebrews seems to strike one cord, and that is, that by Jesus Christ’s coming into the world, he made things so much better for us. He states, “it was therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.”
In every day walk of life, many people are hurting because they fail to understand the true meaning of love. They focus on people for love instead of God, Who is true love.
At times all of us have days when our faith wavers, but God never falters and His word is steadfast. So if we would dare to agree with Him and His word, we would possess miracles.
In order to make heaven our home, we are going to have to take anti-rejection drugs spiritually to offset or destroy the forces that will come against us.
When questions arise, when life doesn’t make sense, when everything else fails, when everyone walks away – hold to the Word! Even if everyone else walks away from the Truth, Hold to the Word!
Jesus came to fulfill what Isaiah said and to bring salvation, deliverance and liberty to the brokenhearted and captives of the enemy of their soul which is Satan.
God's purpose for creating all things and man was so that He would have a people to love and that would love Him. His plan from the beginning was to give His ultimate creation a way back to Him. He was and has been faithful to His own cause from day one. Our mission is to be faithful to that same cause of bringing souls back to Him.
Most contracts that we sign have in small print the terms and conditions that are associated with it. Yet many people do not ready this small print. The same holds true with the promises of God. If we violate the terms and conditions, we may violate the contract.
God's promises are for us today when we commit to Him and are faithful, He is faithful to His Word.
At the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Arlington, Virginia, when the guards are changing post, the guard being relieved will tell the on-coming guard that their orders or unchanged or that they remain. Today, our orders have remained unchanged from what Jesus gave the apostles.

No man knows the day or the hour of the coming of the Lord. As well, we do not fully know the plans and purposes that He has for our lives. His plan is being revealed in us as we walk with Him in and by the faith and trust that He knows what He is doing with, in and through us. We are to cast our cares on Him and trust the plan and walk as he daily directs and orders our steps. Our destiny is completely in his control.

Just as the Lord chose Israel to be His special people, so has He chosen us today with a special calling and purpose. He always had a chosen people.

A mystery, is something that is often difficult or impossible to understand or explain. Many see the Resurrection as a mystery. But once we enter a true relationship with Christ, it is easy understood.
Jesus and the apostles told us that our profession would be ttested. How will you fair when you are tested?
There is no one who does not face situations in their life that can bring concerns and could cause fear. David shows us that by looking to God in faith and praising Him regardless of what we are facing, not only is our focus changed but our fears are silenced. When we look to the world, we are perplexed and confused, but when we look to God and magnify Him through praise, He will save us from our fears.
What does it mean to be anointed? The anointed were the chosen ones. When one was chosen for the service of the Lord, they were anointed with oil. The oil represented the Holy Ghost. If we say that we have received the baptism of the Holy Ghost, then we have been anointed for service unto the Lord.

Many people do not understand the battles we face. If we would allow God to fight for us, we would see that we have nothing to fear.

A stump is the bottom part of a tree left projecting from the ground after most of the tree has fallen or has been cut down. The stump represents the remnant of the tree.
It is an eternal fact that God loves you with an everlasting love that cannot be fathomed. It is so boundless that it can only be known by faith. Because God so loved you, you can exchange your sins for His righteousness. Could we ask for any greater evidence of His love than Calvary? Calvary is proof that God loves, and longs to save us. During these lessons we will look at a "Better Love".
: One of the greatest dangers we face as Christians is when we do not do what God tells us to do. We hear, but we do not make the self-adjustments to correct ourselves. The Prodigal Son came to himself and realized where he should be. And he took corrective measures to fix himself. We must be willing to do the same thing when God speaks to us.

The souls of this world, whether they choose to believe in God, believe God, or even follow Him, are His possession according to scripture. Their final and ultimate destiny will be determined by their own choice. What are we doing to make sure that our fellow man is at least informed about the gospel of Jesus Christ so they can make an informed decision. We are not commanded to invite. We are commanded to GO and make disciples.
As we walk in the light of His glorious gospel, His command is that we seek first His kingdom. So, it can’t be about us. It all has to be about Him and His Kingdom.

Esau sold his Brother Jacob his birthright or a morsel of meat. And when he realized what he had done and wanted it back, he couldn’t receive it even though he sought for it with tears. Sometimes we do not value something until we have lost it.
As we walk in the light of His glorious gospel, His command is that we seek first His kingdom. So, it can’t be about us. It all has to be about Him and His Kingdom.
To bar someone or something means to hinder or prevent them. Paul said that the children of Israel could not enter their rest because of an evil heart of unbelief. In other words, they were barred from entering.

In order to obtain a “Fuller Revelation” of Christ, there are certain steps that the believer must follow and obey. Steps such as: Following on to know the Lord; Spending time with Him in fellowship; Studying His word; and Waiting on His timing are just a few of them. Jesus wants us to know Him. Just as the Apostle Paul had a zeal to know Him, we too should have a strong desire to seek for Him and know Him.

From the book of Genesis to the book of Revelation, there is a call for one major thing, and that is faith in the believer. Once saved, we must walk by faith and not by our sight.

There was no god before our God, neither will there be after Him. He is the first and the last, the creator of everything. And just as God has not changed, His commission for His church has not changed. From the first day of the church until the present moment, the commission given has not changed, we are still "the same" as those who have gone before us. We are to go and teach, baptize, and teach.

Revelation is defined as "A surprising and previously unknown fact, especially one that is made known in a dramatic way; the disclosure of something that was not previously known." In this series, we will look at the identity of Jesus Christ and His fullness, seeking a deeper revelation of Him.
Throughout scriptures we read a lot about cups. I think we all have our favorite cups that we like to use when drinking coffee or tea. Some are pricey and others are less expensive. Some are made of china while others are made of clay. But no matter what it is made from, to you it is special and you don’t want anyone else drinking from it. The night that Jesus was betrayed, we see that scripture makes mention of two cups that would make a difference. The one we would drink from while the other Jesus would drink from.
Perfection, as we have learned, means maturity or completion. As a born-again believer, we should not be a novice in the basic tenants of Christ and His church (Ephesians 4:11-15; Titus 2:1-9). If we are not growing and maturing in our understanding of basic Christian principles, it is because we are not studying and not applying the word of God to our lives in faith (Hebrews 4:2).
We often hear people say that they are having “Trouble”. Trouble with their kids, spouse, employer, employees, church members, in-laws; and the list goes on. Trouble is defined as “to disturb the mental calm and contentment of; worry; distress; agitate. Something or someone that is a cause or source of disturbance, distress, annoyance, etc.” Jesus desires us to be overcomers in all areas of our life. And gives us the power to be just that.
During This time of year, many will try to seect the perfect gift. However, scripture lets us know that every good gift and every perfect gift is from above and comes down from God above. Therefore, we must realize that the best things in life are free. And that includes the Gift of the Holy Ghost.

The first thing that God said at the creation was, “Let there be light,” and there was light (Genesis 1:3). We all know that light gets us out of darkness and allows us to see our surroundings. Without light, nothing can live. Therefore, only by considering the True Light, Jesus Christ, can we see light and have true life.

In every race, everyone enters to win. No matter the race, even if we don’t win, we all want to complete it. To win there are rules that must be obeyed. We are in a race to cross the finish line to eternal life, and we must not violate the rules or we will become disqualified from winning.

We do not grow in faith and maturity on the mountain top, it is in the valley that we gain our strength and our faith grows. God often teaches more from denials than from permissions. God's refusals are full of divine possibilities and blessings. We need to look for the blessings to find them.
We live in a time when gratitude is not always easily expressed. Yet as Christians we are commanded by scriptures to give thanks unto the Lord. The fact that He is good is reason enough to praise Him and thank Him. An attitude of gratitude will change our lives and draw us closer to Christ.
There are many religions that will tell you that their doctrine is the right way to obtaining eternal life. But Jesus said that He is the only way.

Veterans Day is a time that we honor those who have served in our armed forces. Pau,l speaking of some of the spiritual warriors that had proceeded him, felt a need to tell of their heroism and accomplishment. Yet he felt he did not have enough time to speak about them and to give them the proper honor that was due them because of their heroism and service.
Throughout scripture, and even today, many who say that they are born again do not want what God offers them. They still desire the things of this world over the things of God.
The principle and pattern of the harvest is found throughout scripture in natural and more importantly in spiritual application. It is important for apostolics to understand their place in the current harvest of souls and in the final harvest that God is going to bring about as the last days and His soon return approaches.
Isaiah said that there is a highway there, and the way shall be called holiness. Not until we have a clear understanding of the gospel of Jesus Christ will we have a clear understanding of holiness and its importance in our lives.
We did not come to God under our own strength. He had to lead us and draw us to Him and then we had to make a choice. Our continued decision to serve Him and participate in building His kingdom is not only our choice but happens through the gift of His Holy Spirit that daily empowers as He works His will in us.

The Apostle Paul’s writings seem to set forth many warnings to the church so that they would not develop a lackadaisical attitude and not think that Satan would not come and try to destroy them. His teachings gave warning to them.

The Tabernacle in the wilderness was to commemorate God’s provision in the wilderness. If we do not worship God for His provision, then He does not send the rain.
God selected 12 ordinary men and trained and prepared them to carry His gospel to the lost souls of their generation. As His death on the cross approached, they really weren’t 100% sure of all that was being expected of them for the future. The Lord brought circumstances and situations into each of their lives to help them choose which side of the fence of indecision they were going to end up on. He wants His people today to choose to serve Him and to stick with their decision as the disciples did.
The consequence of not being committed to God when He calls you out of the world can be devastating to a child of God. Being half-hearted and not serving Him with all our life can render us useless to Him.
In life, there will be many obscurities that will block our focus of where Jesus is leading us. But we must be able to traverse through them to reach the other side.
Paul’s writings to the church are that of his confidence in God’s ability to do anything. Paul was confident that there was nothing that God could not do. .
Paul makes it very clear that the gospel that is preached must be obeyed in order for us to be saved. It is the power of God unto salvation; yet it will only save us if we obey it.
Walking the talk is one of the biggest challenges each of us face every day. It’s true for just about every aspect of our lives. From family and faith, to sports and politics, to our jobs and our communities. We can talk about the importance of commitment, honesty, integrity, trust, respect, responsibility, and dependability; but does our walk reflect it? We can talk about soul winning, but do we? We can talk about giving, but do we? We can talk about heaven, but are we ready? It is time we Walk The Talk.
God has a specific purpose and reason in His plan why He has us where HE has us and why we might be going through the things that we are going through. His ways and His will are above our ways and His ways and His will are perfect. We will understand it better as He brings us through His perfect will.

One of the things about the word of God is that it testifies that those who obey and do the will and word of God will be blessed.
The wisdom of God is the only wisdom that we can trust and live by. When we start trusting in our own wisdom, even if it's based on God's wisdom, we can find ourselves in a precarious place. We can do nothing without Him and His wisdom operating in our lives.
Throughout scripture we see that the Christian must live their entire life living and walking by faith. The writer of Hebrews says that faith is the substance of things hoped for. In other words, faith is our confidence and foundation in God’s ability to do what he says that he will do.
The book of Deuteronomy, is Moses’ second giving of the law to the children of Israel. It was given a second time, because the first generation had rejected it and had died in the wilderness. And now, prior to crossing the Jordan River, to enter the land of promise, Moses, wanted them to understand that by keep God’s law it would usher in continual blesses upon them; And disobedience would produce to them a curse.
Naaman, captain of the host of the king of Syria, was a great man but he was a leper. If he remained a leper, he would always have a problem. Leprosy can be seen as sin. If we remain sinful, we will always have a problem because we cannot enter heaven. We can take our problem to the altar and let Jesus take care of it. Come let us reason together, saith the Lord.
There are times that we may think God does not listen to or hear us when we call because He doesn’t answer on our time line. But we must not mistake His silence as Him not hearing us.
God has had a plan from before the earth was created. Everything has been orchestrated on His specific timeline. He has pre-ordained the life of every individual, if we will just seek for the destiny and purpose that He has chosen for us and not try to dictate our own timeline.
Because God is omniscience, there is nothing that He is not aware of. Jesus said that even the hairs on our heads are numbered.
In writing to the church at Rome, Paul says, “If it be possible” live peaceably with all men. What does that tell us? It tells us that it is not always going to be possible to live in peace with some; therefore we must be the more mature Christians and seek peace if we desire to have peace in our lives
Every member of the church is charged with the same assignment that Jesus commissioned His disciples in Matthew 28:19-20, as Jesus commissioned His disciples mission. Unfortunately, many members will produce a long list of reasons as to why we are not willing to go. These reasons can also be classified as hindrances. During the next few lessons, we will examine a few hindrances that prevent people from executing the first part of Jesus’ command, “Go.”
Children's Ministry Service Message: God has different purposes for our lives. In order for God to use us, we have to position ourselves according to His word.
When we come to a saving knowledge and participate in our own Pentecost, we take the old man to the grave and bury him and begin to walk in newness of life, our resurrected self. When this happens, we die to our will, our way, our intellect and ideas so that we can follow what His will is for us. He bought us with a price and we are no longer our own.

A careful study of the book of Mark reveals the fact that the aim of Mark is to let the wonderful works of Jesus testify to His Deity, rather than the frequent statements of Himself.
Success is only mentioned once in the Bible and God associates it with obedience to His Word. How successful are you?
We live in a society where it is common to break promises. Many of us have received bounced checks after people failed to keep their promises. However, God is not a man that He should lie. (Numbers 23:19) Everything He promised will come to pass. We just have to be willing to wait. To wait is to remain in a state in which you expect or hope that something will happen soon while serving in the meantime. If we are willing to wait for the promise, God is faithful to fulfill the promise.
Jesus said that He was the way, the truth, and the life. If truth is dead, then we have no hope of eternal life.
Jesus told His disciples that if they were going to model their lives after Him that they would need to take up their cross daily, to die to their own will, and follow Him. Paul also reminded the church that they were supposed to be dead; as he set forth by his own example and life.
Because no man knows the minute nor the hour that our Lord will return, we must prepare and be ready for His return.
We can overcome the "tradition" of being a victim of our circumstances. Through Christ ALL things become new.
God s desiring to make us whole, but we need to make the decision and allow Him to. We must step out in faith. He will never force us. Jesus is calling us to draw come out and be separate.
The psalmist states that the fool has said in his heart that there isn't a God. Do our actions and conduct reflect the same?
As His disciples, the people of God are commanded to go, to teach and to baptize and finally to make disciples of those who He adds to the kingdom. We are commanded to preach the gospel of the kingdom to every creature. Every one of us that has been added to the kingdom because of His grace and mercy and love is required to fulfill His command. As they went and did so on the Day of Pentecost, the Lord honored their obedience, faithfulness and effort and He added to the kingdom such as should be saved.

The sanctuary is the place where we obtain directions, guidance, and instructions for our lives. It is the place that God writes His word on our hearts.

We live in a world filled with people who seem convinced of what it means to live life. Many have fallen prey to the deceptive struggle towards joining the social elite as they endeavor to climb the ladder of success. But when the mirage of prosperity dissipates, reality becomes both blinding and deafening. Unfortunately, the enemy has developed a false advertisement of what life is all about. Where is the hope? Where is the solidarity of life to which we can aspire towards? The truth is, living life has everything to do with establishing and maintaining a connection to the source of life. The way to life is in Jesus Christ! He is the source of life. Without Him we just exist and are destined for destruction. On the other hand, whoever believes in Jesus will not perish, but they will receive everlasting life!
The New Birth Experience was designed by God to give everyone a clean slate and a fresh start. When one obeys Acts 2:38, he should rise to walk in newness of life.
During this series, we look at attitudes and how they apply to our lives. We take the steps spoken here to hopefully reach the higher altitude of spiritual life.
Because the world in which we live has lost its focus, that essential element (wisdom), that leads to eternal life seems to be missing from so many people. So, the question is, where shall wisdom be found?
James mentions the importance of receiving God's Word. More importantly, he emphasizes the significance of carrying out the word (doers of the word). To do something means to perform an action; achieve and complete something. God's Word provides us with instructions on how we are to live and behave. In His Word, there are exceeding precious promises available to us. Therefore, if we desire to be blessed and highly favored of God, we must adhere to the Word of God. Remember, it is the way of the transgressor that proves to be hard. Don't make life more difficult than it has to be. Just do what God says and let Him make your yoke easy and your burdens light. If God says it, don't fight it; Just Do It!
The New Year usually comes in with a bang for most people, but it soon wanes because most do not continue to watch.
Isaiah’s prophecy points us to Jesus Christ, who is the real and hidden meaning of Christmas.
Each year, Christmas comes with great anticipation but often ends with disappointment for many. What can we do differently?
Born in the church, I would be considered third-generation apostolic. Church is all I have ever known, it i what I've grown up in and now what I am bringing my children up to know. I remember - the testimonies are real - you can say they are no big deal or even try to explain them away; but this is my story! And I believe! He has been faithful!
There are moments when our physical bodies are attacked by germs and parasites. These perpetrators can pose a threat to our health and lives. Fortunately, many of our medical professionals offer some hope as they attempt to identify, target, and possibly annihilate these biological attackers. As Christians, we are all members of the body of Christ. Lately, it appears that the body has been attacked by spiritual parasites. These parasites are life-threatening and hinder our spiritual development. It is time for the church body to be completely healed, so that we can effectively fulfill the plan of God. We accomplish this by establishing and building a relationship with Jesus Christ because He is the source of life. The stronger our connection, the better our spiritual health. The better our spiritual health, the longer we live. In Jesus we live, operate, and have our existence.
Just as Israel turned their backs on the God who delivered them from bondage and paid a price for it, so we must be careful not to neglect the salvation that He brought to us, lest we lose out with God in the end.
Is your Pea Patch worth defining? Veteran’s Day celebrates the service of all U.S. Military veterans; while Memorial Day honors those who died while in military service.
To confirm something is to make it sure. To establish to the truth. To make accurate. God is always going to confirm his word. Throughout scripture, we see that God always fulfills his promises.
We need the anointing of the Holy Ghost. It is the anointing that makes the difference. We must surrender through our relationship to receive this anointing. The world needs to see the anointing of the Holy Ghost in our lives. Hell is not afraid of religion, but the anointing makes it tremble!
The common denominator of life is love. No relationship is complete without love. Love is not merely an expression of human affection, it is the personality trait of God. God is love and everything He performs is an act of love. Therefore, we are all caught in the act of God's love!
Fear seems to grip the hearts of so many today. Even with all the promises from God's word, many Christians still live in a bubble of fear. Why? In Psalms 27, David encourages us not to fear.
Being a Christian Witness is much more than a verbal proclamation, surface presentation, or religious denomination. A Christian is a transparent window that enables others to see the identity of Jesus Christ in and through us.
Israel went into bondage, and all they the once had from God was destroyed. They had many opportunities to experience God’s mercy but went their own way. We have an opportunity in this day an hour and dispensation of grace to do just as Israel did, and turn from our own way in order to submit to His way. He needs His church to stand in the gap with intercession and travail for those whose minds have been taken captive by Satan at his will. Nehemiah caught the burden to pray for God to open the eyes of his people who were existing in a place where their walls of protection and safety were broken down. Who among us is willing to weep and mourn for the lost?
Being a Christian Witness is much more than a verbal proclamation, surface presentation, or religious denomination. A Christian is a transparent window that enables others to see the identity of Jesus Christ in and through us.
We don’t hear a lot about the Cross anymore. There have been many songs written about the Cross, yet today few churches sing them. What is the meaning of the Cross? Simply put, the meaning of the Cross is death. We must repent if we are going to live and receive the power of God.
Being a Christian Witness is much more than a verbal proclamation, surface presentation, or religious denomination. A Christian is a transparent window that enables others to see the identity of Jesus Christ in and through us.
Since the inception of the first telephone, technology has advanced our communicative capabilities. Today, we can receive calls on mobile devices at almost any location, provided there is a telecommunications signal. Features such as Caller ID, Call Waiting, Call Waiting ID, Call Forwarding, and Voicemail are designed to minimize the chance of missing or overlooking a call. Most mobile devices provide you with two specific options when receiving a call; answer or ignore. Similar, to mobile devices, everyone has a communications line to their hearts. Jesus knows your number. So, what will you do when He calls you? Will you miss or ignore the call, or will your answer?

Oftentimes we may not understand the importance of the sanctuary. God told Moses to have the people build Him a sanctuary that He may dwell among them (Exodus 25:1-9). The writer of Hebrews said that there was a tabernacle made which was called the sanctuary (Hebrews 9:1-2). And inside this sanctuary was the table with the shewbread placed upon it which represents the word written on tables of stones; and the candlestick, which represents the way the word enlightens our path, which is Jesus Christ. The way of the Lord is found in the Sanctuary.
There are many scriptures that point us to Jesus as the tree of life. Isaiah points us to Jesus as the root and offspring of David. Though Satan tried to destroy this tree over 2000 years ago, he left its roots in the earth. Therefore, this tree will never cease.
Job had hitherto borne his trials without apprehension that he would lose his constancy of hope, or his confidence in God. Here he seems to apprehend that his constancy might fail, and he therefore wishes to die before he should be left to dishonor God. He asks what strength he had that he should hope to be able to sustain his trials much longer. But then he says, is not my help in me?
When we look at our body, the hands and the head seems to get us into more trouble than the other parts. The head is the operation center of our very being. If our head isn't clean, our mind and our thoughts will not be clean. Thus, causing us to think the wrong way and often times doing the wrong things. Peter knew that it just wasn't his feet that needed to be washed, but his hand and his head. And so do we.
Sometimes, we may not like the place that we live. We may not like our community or our neighborhood. Some people are constantly moving trying to find that right location. Many people change jobs trying to find that right location to work. But what would you do if you could look into God’s mind and discover that the place you are is the place that He wants you to be? The psalmist said that God would choose our inheritance for us. God has a perfect plan for our lives and for our inheritance.
Many folks think that when it comes to the church, it is to be loving, peaceable, and enjoyable. Many choose to attend churches where the preacher never tells them anything that would cause them to change or to be offended. But what do we do when God speaks to us through the preacher and his words aren't loving and fun?
The thing I like about the story of the Shunammite woman is her attitude in adversity and bereavement. Her son is dead, and yet when asked if all is well, her reply is, "It shall be well.
The Lord gave a command to his disciples just before he was taken up to be seated at the right hand of God. That command was to go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. Are we fulfilling this command in our lives as his modern day disciples?
When Jephthah was leading the armies of Israel in war against Ephraim, many of the Ephraimites were trying to escape. But when they came to cross over they were challenged to pronounce the word “Shibboleth” which means an ear of corn. But because they could not give the "h" sound in the word, they could only say “sibboleth” which signifies a burden. It was because of this one letter that many of them died there.
God has always desired to dwell among His people. God chose you because you are special to Him and because He loves you and wants to fulfill His promises to man. When we get an understanding of how much God truly does love us, we will desire to always be in His presence. As He told Moses, “And let them make me a sanctuary; that I may dwell among them” (Exodus 25:8).
Pentecost was one of the three times that every male was to appear before the Lord each year. It was fifty-days after the resurrection. It was to commemorate the giving of the law and thanksgiving for the wheat harvest or first fruits. It is also called the fest of weeks. It was on this day that the Holy Ghost was poured out and the New Testament church was birthed.
Acts 10 reveals to us some traits of character that Cornelius had. He feared God. He prayed always. He was a giver. And he was obedient. When these traits are in a person, their eyes will be open to what God desires for their life.
When parents tell their children to go take a bath, afterwards, when the child is finished, the parents usually check behind the child's ears for cleanliness. At the "Last Supper", Jesus told His disciples they were clean, but not all.
Denial of self is much more than just physical denial. When we “take up our cross” we are giving Him complete control of the steering wheel in our life. We are removing the limits on what God can and will do through us as we submit ourselves to Him on the potter’s wheel.
The Lord told Ezekiel to speak against the false prophets and prophetesses for their lying, as well as those who had built the wall and plastered it with untempered mortar. Ezekiel was told to tell them that it was going to fall.
The love of God for us is unconditional. We ought to love one another as He has loved us. The love of this world will not get the job done.
Simon Peter, seems to write his epistles at the later years of his life. He seems to address the entire Christian audience. His letters seem to be ones of encouragement, instruction, and admonition. In writing this epistle, Peter obeys three commands given to him by Jesus: 1. Encourage the flock of God; 2. Strengthen the flock of God; and 3. Feed the flock of God.
Someone said that in order to understand the resurrection, you have to go by the grave. So many have become confused about the resurrection. The world has always called it Easter. They have associated it with bunny rabbits and dyed eggs. Like all other good holidays, they have turned it into a money making venue and secular event. But for those of us who are born again and who call ourselves Christians, we must not be drawn into their practice. Jesus Christ is alive, we celebrate His resurrection today.
Similar to physical sight, there is a need for clear spiritual vision. This is only possible through the eyes of faith. Faith is the material of the things we hope for and the proof of what we cannot physically see. The absence of faith makes it impossible to see God. God has provided His divine word to help improve our faith (spiritual vision). God’s word is the one true way to ensure that we view life the way He views life. As our faith increases, our vision improves. The better our vision, the more we gain an accurate view on life. My hope and prayer is that God will illuminate His word and enable us to see life from His perspective.
The world appears to be on a slippery slope of discontentment. This snowball seems to be rolling and picking up speed faster and faster. And not only is it affecting the people in the world, but it is also wreaking havoc in the church. People and homes are filled with things, but they are empty spiritually.

When we are used to the old ways of doing things, it's not easy to change to something new. Jesus said that no man when he has drunk old wine for so long straightway accepts the new, because the old still tastes better.

We sometimes wonder why so many who say they have been filled with the Holy Ghost seem to be weak spiritually. Why do so many have a hard time letting go of those things that can harm them spiritually? What is the disconnect?
We have this great salvation that was offered to us through the blood of Calvary. Not that we are walking in newness of life, we find that life is not always going our way but it is now being directed by the one who saved us. He is the one to whom we submitted our life at an altar of repentance and in the waters of baptism in the name of Jesus. As a result, He has made us to be a vessel for His purpose and in His kingdom. We just have to realize and remember that, although our world may seem to be topsy-turvy, the One that we allowed to take control in our lives is accomplishing all things in us and through us and for our good.
The Lord told Moses to inform the children of Israel that every offering, gift, and sacrifice was to be seasoned with salt. Salt served as a covenant between God and man. Some of the things that salt was used for was a preservative, an enhancer, and a healer of waters. Jesus said that we are to be salt in the earth and to always have salt within ourselves. We are to be all these things in our world today.
The Gospel of Saint John is considered by some to be the deepest and most spiritual book in the Bible. In it, Jesus gives us a more complete revelation of Himself and God than any other of the gospels. John’s main purpose of this book is to inspire faith in Jesus Christ, and to also show us how to overcome the world.
The only way to truly become a man, you must identify the perfect example of manhood. God exemplifies the pattern of every aspect of manhood. It is our responsibility to search, study and submit to God so He can develop us into the man He designed us to be. It is impossible to fulfill your role and purpose as a man until you diligently seek the Creator (Jesus Christ) of the man in every way.
In order for a man to develop in godliness, he must be aware of who he is. There are things in us that cause us to be separated from God. God requires us to cleanse (get rid of waste) ourselves, change our ways, and commit to His way.
We often use many things to prove our love towards and for others. We may go out our way to purchase the right gift or the right item to show that we love and care. Paul told the church at Corinth, "I speak not by commandment, but by occasion of the forwardness of others, and to prove the sincerity of your love." Our actions speak louder than our words. We must show our love to others through our actions and deeds - seen and unseen.
When we look at scripture, Jesus placed a lot of focus on love. From the enactment of the law, we were told to love God with all our heart, soul, and might; and our neighbor as our self.
When we are on a flight, there is a pilot flying. We may hear his voice on the intercom but we do not see him until the end of the flight. It is then that he stands at the cockpit door and says, "Thank you for flying with us." How we yearn to see the pilot of our soul come again and say, "Well done, my good and faithful servant!". The final flight is being prepared, we must be prepared for departure!
I have been looking at this thing called persuasion. How can so many people be persuaded to do wrong? To go against truth? To go against what is right? To join radical groups to kill, steal, and destroy? As Christians, we must be persuaded to do what God’s word says. It is time to become fully persuaded.
There are many levels of faith. Scripture speaks a lot about faith and how we obtain faith. But when we want something from Jesus, it's going to be done by him according to our faith. When the blind men asked Jesus to heal them, he first asked them if they believed that He could. When they said yes, He touched them and told them “be it unto you according to your faith” and they received their sight.
The Book of Genesis is one of my favorite books of the Bible. The story of the creation has so many pictures of the New Testament plan of salvation contained within it. From the lights to the fruit trees yielding fruit after "His kind”; it all points to some relationship with us in Christ.
A trial is a test that is designed to prove the value of something. Your trials are prescribed for you and you are equipped for your trials. When we are faithful to God, He gives us strength and power to push through our trials. Our trials are not designed to be our destination. They are our testimonies in development.
Most homes have what they call "Christmas traditions". Traditions such as on Christmas morning before they open gifts, they will read what is called "The Christmas Story" found in Luke 2. Nothing in Christendom will ever matter or make sense until we understand this unspeakable and indescribable gift from God.
Tis the season means “This is the season." This is the season that we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. Tis The Season that we share with others, offer hope, and show compassion towards them while sharing truth. This really is the season to be lights in darkness.
The apostle Paul's life was changed down on straight street. He went from being a murderer and injurer to a minister of the gospel. Our lives can be changed, too, if we will venture down straight street.
God's plans and purposes are forever settled in heaven. He knows exactly what He will do, exactly when He will do it and the human vessel through whom He will bring about and perform His perfect will. We have been called, chosen and selected specifically for His plan and purpose. His plan will be accomplished through us, His chosen vessel, if we will be faithful and obedient to His word and fulfill our side of the equation.
The story of Leah in the Bible, in regards to her relationship with Jacob and her sister Rachel, can cause one to feel her pain and suffering. WE can also see why rejection is so cruel and should be avoided. The Bible's focus on Leah is on her rejection because she was tender eyed. She was rejected by man, but loved and favored by God. In Leah's life, we see a portrait of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Jesus said that those who hunger and thirst after righteousness shall be filled. Righteousness is not like Wisdom. Wisdom stands and calls for those who desire her to come and get her, but not Righteousness. Righteousness says, if you want me, you have to seek for me if you want to be filled by me.

If the Fruit of the Spirit isn't evident in our lives, we may not be growing and maturing. Jesus desires us to grow to maturity and perfection. Just as a natural child, we should be growing daily.
Everything that happens to us in life is not always of the devil. Sometimes God ordains our captivity because He has a purpose for our life. We may need to allow Him the time to chasten us for His glory and for His purpose to come to pass.

Prophecy is the foretelling or prediction of what is to come. It is something that is declared by a prophet, a divinely inspired prediction, instruction, or exhortation.
God has espoused His people (the Church) to Himself as a chaste bride. His desire for His bride is that she would be obedient and holy, without blemish, spot or wrinkle. He desires His bride to love Him with all of her heart, soul, mind and strength.
Wisdom is defined as "the right use or exercise of knowledge." Wisdom is the ability to make sensible decisions and judgments based on personal knowledge and experience. It is also having good sense that is shown in the way of thinking, judgment, or action. King Solomon said that wisdom is the principle thing. Wisdom is a standard of moral or ethical decision-making. It is having understanding, knowledge, insight, astuteness, intelligence, and good judgment. Wisdom is more valuable than gold, silver, or rubies and nothing can be compared to it.
When we read scripture, we may come across a passage that says "And When". When we see this, we should focus on what takes place afterwards as God is revealing to us an important event, miracle, or requirement.

When I went to school, the teachers gave us an assignment or homework to do and turn in. If we did it, we usually got a good grade. But if not, we received a failing grade. Today, everyone wants a pass into heaven, but few want to complete the assignment. It is often that one assignment that we fail to do that prevents us from achieving our goals or what we set out to do. Saul was no exception. In the end, we all need to have completed our assignment.

Throughout scripture, God has always shown that He is for us and not against us. He was with Joshua at Jericho, Hannah in her barrenness, and Esther in her elevation to queenship. He was with Paul and Silas in prison and He will be with us.

God has implemented the law of sowing and reaping. When we give to God, He gives back to us. Not just the tangible, but also the intangible. Giving God our best will bring the blessings of God into our lives. God desires to pour out a blessing we cannot even contain, when we position ourselves to receive it. It's not a question of if God desires to, it is a question of our position to receive.
Jesus Christ will rule the earth in righteousness and peace for a thousand years. During this period Satan will be bound and true peace and joy shall be in all the earth.
