Wisdom from a white woman about racial healing like you’ve never heard it before. Diana Roman is a direct descendent of the largest slave-owning family in United States History, and after a life-changing discovery, she founded and is a co-trainer of Diversity Dialogues, an organization focused on race in America and practical solutions to enable racial healing. In this episode, Connie dives into the hard questions regarding racial division and how to heal. Diana shares enlightening details of our country’s history with racial trauma and transformational truths that will ignite our healing.
Diana is the founder and co-trainer of Diversity Dialogues, an organization focused on training change agents to rise to the challenge of contributing positively to a multicultural America. Their curriculum focuses on race in America and practical solutions to enable racial healing. She is a direct descendent of the Hairston family, which is the largest slave-owning family in US history. Her passion for diversity and inclusion was born out of her own reconciliation with her family’s past along with a better understanding the legacy slavery has created and how she can help the healing process.
Formerly, she was a marketing and international business development professional with a long career at Proctor & Gamble in commercial business development. She managed major customers including McDonald’s, Chick-fil-a, Dunkin’ Donuts, and Westin. While based in Singapore, she managed the Global Exports Marketing Division that launched products in 12 major Asian markets. While at Z Group, she developed brand strategies for Disney + Fox Network and provided key data insights on the team that developed the winning election strategy for Mexican president Vicente Fox.

Dr. Jamie Walraven is the Lead Physician at Ageless Wellness Center. She created the practice to serve her patients holistically through functional medicine and aesthetics.
Since the age of three, Dr. Walraven knew that she wanted to be a doctor. Her love of science and helping people fueled her path into medicine. She completed her Pre-Med requirements and earned her B.S. in Chemistry from Judson College. Proceeding on, she finished her M.D. at The University of Alabama School of Medicine. After graduation, she went on to serve our country for six years as an active duty army doctor, including deployments to Egypt and Iraq. In addition to her military duties, she also worked in emergency medicine. After a decade in emergency medicine, Jamie ventured into aesthetics and anti-aging, which eventually led her to functional medicine.
Jamie passionately strives to get to the root of patients’ problems and help them find health solutions, which may have not been possible through traditional medicine. Helping patients achieve long-term wellness is deeply meaningful to her. She enjoys supporting patients in reaching their goals and restoring their confidence.
In her free moments, Dr. Walraven loves to spend time with her boys and her friends, particularly cheering on the Yellow Jackets at Georgia Tech games. She also enjoys reading, riding horses, cooking, and doing art projects.

Successful and strong, Jennifer Conforti had her life planned, and she was excited about her future. Until she discovered that she was pregnant at 42 years old when she didn’t want children. Later, she found out that her young daughter had a brain disability that had severe implications. In this episode, Jennifer shares her devastation from the turn her life took, and the deep pain and pervasive anger she felt towards God for exchanging her good plan with one wrought with struggle and anguish. She channeled her anger to battle for her daughter’s well-being in spite of the extreme challenges they endured. Jennifer recounts her journey from questioning God’s goodness and shutting Him out to restoring her hope in Him and saying “yes” to the beautiful story of healing and even greater purpose that He is writing in her life. She drops pearls of wisdom throughout that are inspiring and life-shifting, and her story is one of restored hope that He is trustworthy, and His promises prevail.
Jennifer Conforti is a former management consulting business owner who moved from Chicago to Atlanta in 2008 to take a chance on a budding relationship. That bud burst open in 2010 when she married Byron Pugh and their beautiful daughter, Abby, joined their lives later that year. The band of 3 moved to Fayette Co., GA, in 2013 and she fell in love again, this time with her new community. She made a promise to her husband that they would be intently involved in their new community with the hope of having a positive impact. In this episode, Amanda Gunter shares how she discovered her passion and purpose, which landed her the owner of multiple Brain Balance centers. Her work of rehabilitating and healing children with disabilities is challenging yet incredibly rewarding work. Coupled with an extremely stressful season in business, it all came at a cost to Amanda. She recounted this season and the toll it took on her health until she sought guidance and support from God and a professional counselor. Through that journey, she realized that striving for her worthiness was futile, and she had to learn a new way to live and work free from struggle, striving, and surviving. She shares the details of her road back from the dry bones of her existence to God’s restoring her back to a tree of life. Her journey continues and God is faithful.
Amanda is a passionate lover of Jesus and believes her life calling is to help children overcome their disabilities and see complete healing and wholeness in them and their families. She desires all children and their parents to be able to fulfill their God-given destiny. Amanda graduated from the University of Georgia in 2004 with a degree in Special Education, with a concentration in Autism Spectrum and Behavior Disorders. She graduated in 2006 with a Master’s Degree in Moderate Disabilities from Cambridge College. She is the Executive Director and owner of Brain Balance of Peachtree City, Ga. It has been a dream to be able to own the center where she started her Brain Balance career! The Brain Balance of Peachtree City and Amanda are celebrating their 15th year serving families of south Atlanta!
