Vladimir Duthiers (CBSNews), Kristine Johnson (CBS2), and Jeff Bakalar (CNET) will record a weekly podcast that examines interesting topics that aren't being picked up in the mainstream media cycle. In this day and age--with news in the spotlight--it will be interesting to examine what the media is missing at the confluence of news, culture, and technology. Specific topics will include but are not limited to: technology, entertainment, politics, pop culture and music. All three hosts bring a wealth of news knowledge to the table that will allow them to seamlessly transition from serious news topics to softer news. In addition, Jeff already knows the medium well as he hosts the popular 404 Podcast. It is the longest running Podcast on CNET.
There's continuing fallout over President Trump's firing of former F.B.I. director, James Comey. In the inaugural episode of "CBS ETC" Vlad, Kristine and Jeff talk with CBS News political director Steve Chaggaris about the handling of Comey's firing by the White House, and why some are comparing it to the Nixon-era "Saturday Night Massacre." Also, Fandango on-air correspondent Chris Witherspoon joins the conversation to talk about which summer movies he and the gang are looking forward to.
